What our customers are saying:
I purchase our roof in 2017. It still looks great! The install went perfect! Highly recommend Interlock!!
Couldn’t be more pleased with our new Interlock metal roof. Finished in three days including tear off. Professional crew cleaned up after themselves each day. We’re especially enjoying the two solar tubes that add natural light to our home. Highly recommend Interlock.
I continue to be pleased and happy with my Interlock metal roof after 10 years! People new to the neighborhood ask about it and are amazed to learn it's metal and not asphalt.
Definitely worth the wait. We got our estimate and signed on the dotted line in late August, then got our new roof in mid-November. I was a little concerned because we were now into the "rainy" season. I needn't have been. From start to finish the job was done professionally, efficiently, and they even coordinated with the satellite dish person who relocated our dish for us. I actually contacted Interlock and asked for a yard sign to be placed out front because I wanted all my neighbors to know about our beautiful new roof. First rate and I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.
Our new metal roof from Interlock was installed in June. It has kept our house cooler in the hot weather. The roof is beautiful and makes our house stand out. The Installers were professional, efficient and friendly. There was virtually no debris left in the garden or anywhere. We love our new roof and recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof that will last a long time.
Damon is great, 5/5 on knowledge and personality. The installation crew was efficient and got our new roof on in less than a week!
Interlock did a great job communicating and the team sent to install the roof was professional and fast. The roofing system looks great after install and held up to some heavy rains afterwards with no issues.
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Dear Interlock Industries, We knew that someday we would need a new roof. We had been considering various roofing materials as we have a concern about a plaguing issue of a moss growth problem as a result of fir needle build up. We had to go on the our roof at least one to two times and sometimes more often a month to blow off the roof as the needles would collect everywhere and build up in the roof valleys; plus the additional time necessary to remove the moss. We spent way too much time on the roof. We happened to see the Interlock aluminum roof system and after speaking with staff and our friends and doing some research, we made the decision to have your roof system installed this past fall. We want to let you know that we are happy with the product as well as the style we selected. We had the deep charcoal grey " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate profile installed on our traditional style home. It looks great! Many of the neighbors have commented on how nice it looks. They first thought it would be too commercial looking, but once they saw the end product they were impressed. All the staff from Robin at the Clark County Fair exhibitors’ booth, Mike Rasmussen, Divisional Sales Manager, as well the roof installers were very professional and good in explaining the product, what was involved in the installation, as well as being responsive and open to addressing our questions, comments and concerns. Once the product was ready to be delivered the installation date was confirmed. The installers arrived early on that date and started in on the job. They were diligent on the installation. They did clean up at the end of each day. They were open and encouraged questions and any comments we had. If there was something we noticed that was not quite right they would check and correct. They were as concerned as we were about a quality job done right. The roof does well as the valleys do not collect needles anymore. The only concern/complaint is that the needles do get caught in the interlock sections particularly when it is raining and windy making it difficult to remove them. We have had a lot of rain since the roof was installed so we have not had a chance to really remove the needles. Hopefully once the roof and needles dry out; it will be easier to remove them. But it does appear that we will not have to go on the roof nearly as much as in the past.
Customer Satisfaction 5/5 The installers did an excellent job and worked very hard.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Minnehaha
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Minnehaha, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Minnehaha.
Will a metal roof handle Minnehaha's snow and ice buildup?
Yes — aluminum panels shed snow and ice far better than asphalt, which traps moisture and accelerates ice dam formation. Minnehaha receives about 48 cm of snow annually with roughly 36 freeze-thaw cycles per year, creating perfect conditions for ice dams on traditional roofs. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum design (ICC-ES ESR-1790 rated) provides a smooth, hard surface that sheds precipitation quickly. The panels weigh only 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, so even heavy wet snow loads won't stress your structure. Add snow guards if desired for safety — the lightweight design makes installation straightforward.
Can a metal roof withstand Minnehaha wind gusts and storms?
Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Minnehaha's typical wind gusts reach about 116 km/h, putting your roof well within safe limits. The four-way interlocking panel design creates a unified system that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on individual fastener strength. The aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 3105-H24 and 3003-H24) maintains its structural integrity across temperature swings common in this region's freeze-thaw cycles. Installation following ESR-1790 guidelines ensures maximum wind performance.
How does a metal roof perform in Minnehaha's heavy rainfall?
Minnehaha averages about 1,468 mm of rain annually, and metal roofing with proper installation is superior to asphalt in sustained wet conditions. Interlock panels' four-way interlocking design creates overlapping seals that shed water continuously without pooling. The aluminum alloy cannot rot or absorb moisture like asphalt or wood shakes, so water penetration leads to immediate detection rather than hidden decay. When installed over solid decking with recommended underlayment (per ICC-ES ESR-1790), the system directs water predictably to gutters. The lightweight profile at 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft can be installed directly over most existing roofs, eliminating the gaps and weak points that plague tear-offs.
Won't a metal roof rust in Washington's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes and corrodes in steel. When aluminum is scratched, its oxide layer self-heals within hours, re-protecting the surface automatically. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) finished with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides. This dual-coat approach (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214/D2244) is especially important in Minnehaha's moist environment with 1,468 mm annual rainfall and frequent freeze-thaw stress. Steel roofing rusts in these conditions; aluminum thrives.
What's the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and will insurance care?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Minneapolis-area hail events occur periodically, and Class 4 rating positions you well above minimum building code. Many insurers recognize UL 2218 Class 4 as a premium feature and offer discounts on comprehensive and collision coverage. The aluminum alloy's inherent hardness and the panel geometry distribute impact forces across multiple interlocking points rather than concentrating stress on a single weak spot. Request a copy of the UL 2218 documentation when obtaining insurance quotes — your carrier may reduce your annual premium immediately.
Can my house support a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock panels weigh extraordinarily little — the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Even the Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft weighs a fraction of traditional slate (which can exceed 15 lb/sq ft). In Minnehaha, where freeze-thaw cycles and heavy snow (about 48 cm annually) place real stress on roof structures, the lightweight aluminum design actually improves building longevity by reducing load on trusses and walls. Interlock can install over most existing asphalt roofs without decking upgrades, eliminating costly structural work.
How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof actually require?
Minimal — aluminum naturally resists the decay, splitting, and curling that plague asphalt, wood shakes, and tile in climates like Minnehaha's. Occasional gutter cleaning and a visual inspection after severe weather are standard; no resealing, re-coating, or replacement of failed shingles every 15–20 years. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish (30-year warranty against fading) handles Minnehaha's 2,957 annual sunshine hours and freeze-thaw cycles without degradation. Asphalt shingles require periodic maintenance or re-roofing in this climate; wood shakes split from freeze-thaw stress. The Guardian Warranty covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance — the exact failures that plague traditional materials in wet, cold regions.
How long will an Interlock metal roof last, and what does the warranty cover?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. After ownership transfer, the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion — effectively doubling your home's roof lifespan guarantees. No pro-rating means full coverage regardless of age. Given Minnehaha's 36 annual freeze-thaw days, 1,468 mm rainfall, and 48 cm snow, traditional roofing materials fail within 15–25 years. Interlock metal roofing has been manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998 and installed across climates ranging from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations. The Guardian Warranty reflects genuine confidence in durability.
Will a metal roof help reduce cooling costs in summer?
Yes — energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat rather than absorbing it. The Aged Copper Penny finish achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. In Minnehaha, where summer temperatures are moderate and sunshine averages 2,957 hours annually, reflective coatings prevent unnecessary indoor heat gain. Metal roofing reflects roughly 50% of incident solar energy that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into living spaces. Winter heating is unaffected — the same reflective properties shield your roof from ultraviolet damage that ages asphalt. Homeowners typically see modest summer cooling reductions; the real energy win is 50 years without replacement, avoiding the embodied energy cost of tear-off and landfill.
Can Interlock install a metal roof over my existing asphalt shingles?
Yes — and it's one of Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc.'s key advantages. The lightweight panels at 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft can install directly over most existing asphalt roofs without decking removal or structural work, reducing labor time and disposal costs. Installation follows ICC-ES ESR-1790 guidelines, which permit over-roof application on solid decking. Removing old asphalt means hauling 2–3 tons of waste per 1,500 sq ft to landfill; Interlock's metal panels are approximately 95% recyclable, ending that cycle immediately. Minnehaha homeowners avoid weeks of noise, disruption, and expense. The local installer, serving the region since 1997, can assess your existing roof and recommend the fastest, most cost-effective pathway — over-roof or replacement.
