What our customers are saying:
If they want to really sell a roof, their tactics should be a little bit different. We will definitely not be buying anything through Mr. Glenn.
Dear Interlock Industries, We knew that someday we would need a new roof. We had been considering various roofing materials as we have a concern about a plaguing issue of a moss growth problem as a result of fir needle build up. We had to go on the our roof at least one to two times and sometimes more often a month to blow off the roof as the needles would collect everywhere and build up in the roof valleys; plus the additional time necessary to remove the moss. We spent way too much time on the roof. We happened to see the Interlock aluminum roof system and after speaking with staff and our friends and doing some research, we made the decision to have your roof system installed this past fall. We want to let you know that we are happy with the product as well as the style we selected. We had the deep charcoal grey " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate profile installed on our traditional style home. It looks great! Many of the neighbors have commented on how nice it looks. They first thought it would be too commercial looking, but once they saw the end product they were impressed. All the staff from Robin at the Clark County Fair exhibitors’ booth, Mike Rasmussen, Divisional Sales Manager, as well the roof installers were very professional and good in explaining the product, what was involved in the installation, as well as being responsive and open to addressing our questions, comments and concerns. Once the product was ready to be delivered the installation date was confirmed. The installers arrived early on that date and started in on the job. They were diligent on the installation. They did clean up at the end of each day. They were open and encouraged questions and any comments we had. If there was something we noticed that was not quite right they would check and correct. They were as concerned as we were about a quality job done right. The roof does well as the valleys do not collect needles anymore. The only concern/complaint is that the needles do get caught in the interlock sections particularly when it is raining and windy making it difficult to remove them. We have had a lot of rain since the roof was installed so we have not had a chance to really remove the needles. Hopefully once the roof and needles dry out; it will be easier to remove them. But it does appear that we will not have to go on the roof nearly as much as in the past.
Couldn’t be more pleased with our new Interlock metal roof. Finished in three days including tear off. Professional crew cleaned up after themselves each day. We’re especially enjoying the two solar tubes that add natural light to our home. Highly recommend Interlock.
I continue to be pleased and happy with my Interlock metal roof after 10 years! People new to the neighborhood ask about it and are amazed to learn it's metal and not asphalt.
Definitely worth the wait. We got our estimate and signed on the dotted line in late August, then got our new roof in mid-November. I was a little concerned because we were now into the "rainy" season. I needn't have been. From start to finish the job was done professionally, efficiently, and they even coordinated with the satellite dish person who relocated our dish for us. I actually contacted Interlock and asked for a yard sign to be placed out front because I wanted all my neighbors to know about our beautiful new roof. First rate and I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.
Our new metal roof from Interlock was installed in June. It has kept our house cooler in the hot weather. The roof is beautiful and makes our house stand out. The Installers were professional, efficient and friendly. There was virtually no debris left in the garden or anywhere. We love our new roof and recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof that will last a long time.
Interlock did a great job communicating and the team sent to install the roof was professional and fast. The roofing system looks great after install and held up to some heavy rains afterwards with no issues.
They could improve on communication between the initial estimate, scheduling, and financing.
We got nothing but praises from our neighbors. The new roof looks shiny and beautiful after the rains. Faster start date after the sale. Positive experience.
The roof is absolutely beautiful and compliments our home. The work was fast and professional. Communication about scheduling. Clean up of job site. We absolutely love the roof.
The initial construction phases were fine. But WRT our existing skylights, the crew totally dropped the ball, then avoided picking it up. We were told by the estimators that our existing main-roof skylights were high-quality Andersons in great condition and that they would be retained with the new roof. When we returned from our out of state trip we found holes covered with tarpaper where the skylights had been, and nobody from Interlock would own up to it, or give assurances as to when the holes would be filled. Someone failed to communicate with the crew, and it appeared they had scrapped our skylights. It took over two weeks and numerous phone calls before the new skylights were finally installed. Better and more timely communications with your customers when problems arise. It wasn't until we called Mr. Rasmussen that some action on the skylights issue got started.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Salmon Creek
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Salmon Creek, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Salmon Creek.
How does a metal roof handle Salmon Creek's snow and ice without leaking or damaging my home?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth, hard surface resists water penetration and ice dams don't trap moisture the way asphalt does. Salmon Creek averages about 48 cm of snow annually with roughly 36 freeze-thaw days, creating the exact conditions where traditional shingles fail—water works into gaps as ice cycles. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are sealed at every overlap, and their light weight (the Shingle at just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural strain even when snow briefly sits before sliding. The 120 mph wind warranty covers post-storm gusts typical here, so panels stay locked in place as snow clears.
Why won't an aluminum roof rust in the Pacific Northwest's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes in moisture. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath. Even when scratched or exposed, that protective layer reforms automatically, so the metal stays sound through decades of rain. Salmon Creek receives about 1468 mm of annual rainfall, plus salt-air drift from coastal storms, conditions where steel roofing deteriorates quickly. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is the same material used in aerospace and Antarctic research stations—proven to outlast the buildings it covers in harsh climates like yours.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost when I could just reroof with asphalt again?
Yes, because you're comparing one roof for life to three or four asphalt roofs. An asphalt roof lasts 15-20 years; Interlock metal comes with a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner and transfers 50 years to the next owner, meaning you'll never reroof again and you won't pay for tear-off, hauling, and landfill fees three times over. Salmon Creek's 1468 mm annual rainfall and 36 freeze-thaw days accelerate asphalt failure through moisture penetration and thermal cycling. Right now, Interlock is offering no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, which makes that first cost difference disappear while you sleep.
Will a metal roof blow off or rattle loose in Salmon Creek's winter storms?
No. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are mechanically locked at every seam and edge, so wind can't separate them; the roof moves as one unified deck. The system carries a 120 mph wind warranty when installed to specification, which exceeds the typical 116 km/h gusts your region experiences. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025) confirms the panel design meets IBC/IRC wind load standards for Washington State. Unlike asphalt tabs that lift and tear, or standing-seam roofs with fastener-dependent seams, the interlocking geometry itself resists uplift—the heavier the storm, the more the panels want to stay down.
Does a metal roof actually stand up to hail, or is that marketing?
Most homeowners don't expect hail in the Pacific Northwest, but when it happens, Interlock metal roofs handle it better than any other material. The system holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the panel passes the toughest hail tests in the insurance industry. Because aluminum doesn't dent the way asphalt deteriorates or tile shatters, your roof emerges from hail intact and your insurance company often recognizes this durability with premium credits. Contact Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. to discuss whether your policy qualifies for impact-resistant discounts.
Can I really save on cooling costs with a metal roof in the Pacific Northwest?
Yes, especially during the roughly 2957 annual sunshine hours when the sun actually shines here. Interlock's energy-efficient colors have thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms the benefit is real, not theoretical. On clear days between storms, reflective metal keeps your attic 10-20°F cooler than dark asphalt, reducing air-conditioning load and extending equipment life. Winter heating benefit is indirect but meaningful: a cooler attic means less heat loss through the roof deck in Salmon Creek's 11.5°C average climate, lowering overall thermal waste.
How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof actually need in this climate?
Very little. Interlock metal roofs require no more maintenance than asphalt and far less than wood or concrete tile. You don't clear moss or algae blooms (metal doesn't support growth), you don't seal joints or replace missing shingles, and you don't cycle sealant every 5-7 years. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 and D2244 measured), so you're not refinishing or recoating. Occasional debris removal and gutter cleaning apply to any roof. Because aluminum sheds water so efficiently in Salmon Creek's 1468 mm annual rainfall, moisture never sits long enough to breed maintenance problems—the roof essentially cleans itself through rain and wind action.
Can I get a metal roof that actually looks like slate, cedar shake, or tile?
Yes. Interlock offers five distinct profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each manufactured to replicate traditional material depth and dimension. The panels are formed from roofing-grade aluminum alloy, with four-way interlocking design that echoes authentic installation patterns. Available in multiple colors for each profile, they integrate with existing Salmon Creek homes in cedar-sided neighborhoods or craftsman bungalows without standing out. The aluminum construction delivers the authentic visual appeal while eliminating the weight, cost, maintenance, and fragility of the originals—slate and tile that would require structural reinforcement are 96% lighter in aluminum, so they install over your existing roof with zero prep.
What's the installation timeline, and do I really need new sheathing if I'm reroofing an older Salmon Creek home?
Installation typically takes 5-10 business days depending on roof complexity and weather. Because Interlock aluminum panels weigh just 0.41-0.59 lb/sq ft (compared to nearly 600 lbs for concrete tile), they install directly over your existing roof in most cases—no structural reinforcement, no sheathing replacement, and no weeks of tear-off and waste hauling. Your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., has served the region since 1997 and will assess your deck during the free estimate to confirm overlay eligibility. Older homes with sound plywood don't need new sheathing; soft spots get isolated repair. The lightweight design is why metal roofs are the fastest, least-disruptive option for reroofing older homes here.
Is an aluminum metal roof actually better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Significantly. Interlock aluminum panels are approximately 95% recyclable at end of life—the material never becomes landfill waste. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are tear-off-to-landfill: your old roof is ripped off, hauled away, and occupies landfill space for decades. Over three asphalt roof cycles (60 years), a typical home generates 10-15 tons of shingle waste. Interlock metal, once installed, stays for life and then enters the recycling stream as valuable aluminum scrap. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced lifecycle maintenance and material replacement demands. Salmon Creek's rain and freeze-thaw cycle accelerate asphalt failure and replacement frequency; aluminum's durability through 1468 mm rain and 36 freeze-thaw days means fewer roofing cycles and less environmental burden per decade of protection.
