Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

Review: May 16, 2017

First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

Review: May 16, 2017

We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Review: April 25, 2017

We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.

The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Frontier Acres

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Frontier Acres, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Frontier Acres.

Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt or wood shake?

Yes—aluminum's non-porous structure means it won't absorb water or crack during freeze-thaw stress. Frontier Acres experiences roughly 81 freeze-thaw days per year, and while asphalt becomes brittle and wood shake splits under these conditions, aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without degradation. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and the self-healing oxide layer maintain structural integrity through endless cycles. Combined with the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation for IBC/IRC compliance, your roof stays watertight and functional year after year.

How does an Interlock metal roof perform with Kenosha County's heavy snow loads?

The four-way interlocking panels lock together to shed snow efficiently and resist the stress of about 98 cm of annual snowfall without sagging or ice-dam buildup. The aluminum weighs extraordinarily little—the Slate profile installs at roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft, compared to 40+ lb/sq ft for real slate—so heavy snow loads don't compromise the roof's structural integrity or require reinforcement. Your existing roof framing handles it safely, and the interlocking design naturally slopes water away, preventing the ponding and ice dams that plague low-pitch asphalt roofs in snowy climates.

Are metal roofs safe in Wisconsin wind and ice storms?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph, and Frontier Acres averages gusts of only about 97 km/h (60 mph), so you're well within the safety margin. The interlocking mechanism distributes wind loads across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone, which is why this design earns UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available. Ice storms are common in Wisconsin, but the lightweight aluminum (about 96% lighter than traditional tile) won't add dangerous load stress during freeze-thaw events, and the smooth surface naturally sheds ice and snow.

Can a metal roof reduce my home insurance premiums?

Absolutely—Interlock metal roofing achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest hail classification available, and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many Wisconsin insurers offer premium discounts (typically 10–35%) for Class 4 roofs because they rarely require claims. Ask your agent for a quote before and after installation; many homeowners recoup a year or two of premium savings. Combined with the roof's 81-year durability in a climate with 81 freeze-thaw days annually, insurers recognize Interlock as a permanently reduced-risk investment.

What warranty comes with an Interlock roof, and how long will it actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—with no annual maintenance fees or conditions. It's one-time transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion. In a climate with 760 mm annual rainfall, 98 cm snow, and 81 freeze-thaw days, asphalt roofs last 15–20 years; metal roofs routinely exceed 50 years. Because aluminum cannot rust and the coating is warranted 30 years against fading, your Interlock roof becomes the last roof you'll buy, making it a permanent investment in your home.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over a 50-year lifespan, metal roofing costs far less than asphalt when you count replacements. A typical asphalt roof lasts 15–20 years in Wisconsin's 81 annual freeze-thaw days and heavy snow (98 cm/year), requiring 2–3 replacements and tear-offs over 50 years. Each tear-off sends landfill waste and labor costs add up. A single Interlock installation, backed by the Guardian Warranty's lifetime coverage, eliminates those cycles. Amortized across decades, metal roofing drops your per-year cost below asphalt while adding home value and removing the stress of emergency replacements.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum profiles weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft (Slate) to 0.59 lb/sq ft (Mediterranean Tile)—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Your existing framing, engineered for asphalt shingles, easily supports metal. This light weight is especially valuable in Frontier Acres, where about 98 cm of snow per year creates load stress; aluminum won't add to that burden the way slate or tile would. Installation typically happens over your existing roof, avoiding costly structural upgrades and a full tear-off.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing is roughly 95% recyclable aluminum, ending the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle that asphalt shingles perpetuate every 15–20 years. In Frontier Acres' climate of 760 mm rain and 98 cm snow annually, asphalt fails faster and generates waste repeatedly. Interlock aluminum is manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, from sustainably sourced alloy, and at end of life (decades away), your roof is melted down and reused—not buried. The Guardian Warranty ensures your roof lasts so long that landfill diversion is measured in generations, not years. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance means fewer chemical treatments and service calls.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?

Installation timelines vary with roof size and complexity, but many Frontier Acres homes are completed in 2–5 days. Yes, Interlock installs directly over most existing roofs—no tear-off required, which saves labor and keeps debris out of your yard during Wisconsin's spring and fall weather. Because aluminum panels weigh only 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft, even adding layers to your existing structure poses no risk. The local Interlock team, serving the region since 2001, will inspect your roof, confirm load capacity, and advise whether covering or removal makes sense for your home. This approach minimizes disruption and cost.

How much upkeep does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood shake?

Interlock metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance beyond annual gutter cleaning—no algae treatment, no moss removal, no sealant reapplication. Asphalt shingles need frequent inspection and patching in Wisconsin's 81 annual freeze-thaw cycles; wood shake splits and requires regular staining or chemical treatment. Aluminum's non-porous surface naturally resists mold and algae growth even in humid climates with 760 mm rainfall. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (30-year warranty) doesn't degrade, chalk, or fade. Over 50 years, this hands-off durability saves hundreds of dollars in labor and materials, making the roof truly set-and-forget.
