What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake View
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake View, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake View.
Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions because it has no moisture absorption. Lake View experiences about 84 freeze-thaw days per year with roughly 89 cm of snow, and traditional materials like wood and asphalt expand and contract with temperature swings, leading to cracking and curling. Aluminum expands minimally, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against cracking) remains flexible across temperature extremes. The four-way interlocking design allows each panel to move independently without stressing seams, so your roof won't develop the splits or ice-dam vulnerabilities that plague shingles in climates like yours.
How does a metal roof perform with Lake View's snow load and ice buildup?
Metal roofs shed snow more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents ice dams from forming as easily. Lake View averages about 89 cm of snow annually with mean wind gusts reaching 104 km/h, so snow management matters. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are engineered to handle heavy loading, and if you choose the Slate or Shake profile, we can install snow guards at peak and valley lines to control avalanching onto walkways or vehicles. The lightweight aluminum (the Shingle profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural stress even with seasonal snow accumulation, and the tight panel lock prevents wind-driven snow from infiltrating seams.
Can metal roofing withstand the wind gusts in this area?
Absolutely. Lake View's typical wind gusts reach 104 km/h, and Interlock metal roofs are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels create a unified surface that doesn't lift or separate like individual shingles. Each panel locks on all four edges to its neighbors, distributing wind load evenly across the entire roof plane rather than concentrating stress at fasteners. This design, validated in ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790, is why the system performs in coastal and mountainous regions where wind and weather are routine.
Why won't my metal roof rust in Wisconsin's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; it's the iron in steel that oxidizes in wet conditions. Lake View receives about 781 mm of rain annually plus 89 cm of snow, so moisture exposure is constant. When aluminum's surface is scratched, the oxide layer self-heals within hours—a property steel roofing doesn't possess. Beyond the material itself, Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating to both sides of every panel, an extra safeguard especially valuable in high-moisture climates. This dual protection—non-ferrous aluminum plus a 30-year-warranted coating—means you'll never face the rust staining or degradation that can affect painted steel roofs after 10–15 years.
Will I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed, which is a major advantage in older homes. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Tile profile, for example, weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most existing roof structures were designed to support asphalt shingles or wood shake, so aluminum is a drop-in replacement requiring no engineering work or added expense. This lightness is especially valuable in Lake View, where 84 annual freeze-thaw cycles can stress structural connections; the minimal load means less stress over decades. You can even install directly over your existing roof, eliminating tear-off labor and landfill waste.
Do metal roofs reduce cooling costs?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reduce cooling load by reflecting heat rather than absorbing it. The Aged Copper Penny finish, for instance, has initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning it bounces summer radiation and releases absorbed warmth efficiently—the opposite of dark asphalt. Lake View receives about 3,089 sunshine hours per year, and while Wisconsin winters are long, spring and summer cooling matters. Metal's reflective properties also matter year-round: in winter, reflectance reduces the temperature swings that stress shingles during freeze-thaw cycling. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the energy benefit; combined with aluminum's conductivity, you're trading the solar furnace effect of asphalt for a roof that keeps interior temperatures more stable.
Are metal roofs covered well by insurance in hail-prone areas?
Yes, and your insurer may offer discounts. Interlock metal roofing carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Lake View's hail frequency isn't extreme, it does experience severe weather, and Class 4 impact resistance is rare in the roofing world. Many insurers recognize this durability and reduced claim risk; contact your agent about potential premium reductions. The aluminum itself won't dent permanently from typical hail, and the four-way interlocking design distributes impact load across multiple panels. Over a 50-year roof life, that resilience compounds—fewer stress points, fewer storm-related failures, better loss history for your home's insurance profile.
How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need?
Virtually none compared to wood shake, slate, or tile. Metal roofs don't require annual cleaning to prevent algae, fungal growth, or debris accumulation the way organic materials do, especially in Lake View's 781 mm annual rainfall. Unlike asphalt, Interlock panels don't shed granules, so gutters stay cleaner and downspouts remain clear longer. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists chalking and fading (warranted 30 years per ASTM D4214), meaning no recoating cycles. Occasional rinsing after heavy storms is optional; it's purely cosmetic. The CALGreen-verified reduced-maintenance profile means lower lifetime ownership cost—no yearly inspections, no spot repairs, no preventive sealant applications. You buy the roof and forget it, which is the whole point of aluminum's durability.
Is the upfront cost worth it over the life of the roof?
Yes, when you calculate total installed cost against lifespan. A typical asphalt roof lasts 15–20 years and requires replacement in Lake View by roughly 2040–2045, given 89 cm snow, 84 freeze-thaw days, and UV exposure across 3,089 sunshine hours annually. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner and transferable for 50 years to the next owner—that's a single roof covering two ownership generations. The non-prorated material guarantee covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. Over 50 years, asphalt means 2.5 replacements, tear-off labor, disposal fees, and rising material costs; Interlock means one purchase, one installation, and zero replacement expenses. Most homeowners recover the higher initial investment through avoided future roof work alone.
What's involved in installing a metal roof, and can you install over my existing roof?
Installation is straightforward and often doesn't require tear-off. Our crews fasten Interlock panels directly to roof decking or over your existing asphalt shingles using corrosion-resistant fasteners, which eliminates labor costs and waste. The lightweight aluminum panels (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft) mean existing structures handle the load without reinforcement, even under Lake View's seasonal snow accumulation. Four-way interlocking ensures panels lock permanently once installed, creating a unified system that resists 120 mph winds and the 104 km/h gusts common here. The entire process typically takes 2–4 days depending on roof size and complexity. Because we've served the region since 2001, we navigate local permitting and building code requirements (ICC-ES ESR-1790) without delays, so your roof is watertight and code-approved quickly.
