What our customers are saying:
Fantastic service, clear & consistent communication, and a beautiful, durable product. Simply one of the best contractors we have ever worked with. We got quotes from numerous leading roofers for this job. Mike from Interlock was the only one who came to our house, spent an evening patiently explaining every aspect of the job, showed us many photos and described some of the technical aspects in ways that were easy to understand. When we called back with more questions, he was always available and always super helpful. For the installation, Mike recognized that we had an old house and were concerned about the workmanship. He sent us an experienced crew led by Oswaldo that went above and beyond any expectation we could have had. They not only protected our home but also took pains to protect the neighbors' homes beside ours. They gave us near daily briefings and showed us photos of everything they found on our roof and their work throughout. The job ended up taking much longer than anticipated because our roof had many problems that needed to be repaired. Oswaldo and Mike worked with us to make sure everything was taken care of and repaired before the new roofing was put on. They proved flexible and extremely diligent, communicating effectively throughout. We are thrilled with the result and grateful for all their hard work. We would not hesitate to use their services again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for roofers. As a bonus, we're delighted that we will never send another huge pile of asphalt shingles to the landfill again!
Definitely not the cheapest roof but looks good! The people worked hard during the hottest days of summer and cleaned up after the job was done! It rained heavily two days after the roof was finished! No concerns! Well done!
When I was doing the research on replacing my roof on my house, I was looking for a more environmentally friendly material and something that would keep my house cooler after a hot, sunny day. At one of the environmental fairs I attended, I picked up a brochure describing all types of roofing materials. I chose Interlock Roofing Systems because they offered all the features I was looking for. The advantage of Interlock Roofing Systems is that, from the salesperson to the installers, they are part of the same company. On the news, I had just heard of a horror story of a reputable company that used third-party installers. They ended up cutting corners and did a terrible job for their client. With Interlock, everything was more than satisfactory. The installers were professional and hardworking. The product delivers what is promised. After a hot day, my house is cooler and cools off quicker, so you get a good night’s sleep. I had the Interlock metal slates installed and my roof looks great. The neighborhood loves it! And, no, it’s not noisy when it rains–it’s the same as any other roof. One’s roof takes the most pounding on a house – rain, snow, and wind, so the investment is well worth it. Since you are getting an environmentally friendly, attractive product, plus a great " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, I highly recommend Interlock Roofing Systems.
We have recently had an Interlock Lifetime Roofing System installed on our house. The initial questions and concerns we had were answered by Colin to our full satisfaction. Upon doing our due diligence prior to agreeing to the job we found that both the price and quality of the Interlock product were unmatched in the marketplace. The job was done in a timely and professional manner in all ways. We are very happy with the results.
I would like to take this time to say thank you for a job well done. From sales, to project manager, to roofer, the team worked in a highly professional manner. The job was organized efficiently and completed in a timely manner. All materials on completion were taken away within the next day. Michael's work was efficient and very well done. I am extremely satisfied with the quality and workmanship of the roof. I particularly like the finishing touches on the roof edges and around the chimney's flashing. Michael did an excellent job! My home now has a much better cleaner profile. I am also surprised at how there is no extra noise on a rainy day - and we do have those rainy days here on the west coast. I had actually thought this may be an issue with the home being 80 years old as no extra sound proofing allowable, so am very pleased with the outcome. Once again thank you for a job well done.
Now that you have completed the job of replacing our old cedar shingle roof with an Interlock Standing Seam aluminum roof, Jayne and I are writing to express our thanks for the work that you have done. At all times throughout the project, we have been impressed by your professionalism, work ethic and attention to detail. We would also like to thank you for taking efforts to minimize the disruption caused by us by the work and for carrying out several extra jobs (including the replacement of light bulbs in hard to reach lights under the eaves of our house and several sections of corroded downpipe) willingly and efficiently. We are pleased to have had you in charge of the work on our roof and would have no hesitation in strongly recommending you and your team to anyone else wishing to install a new roof.
Many years ago, we had our roof installed by Interlock Roofing Company, which came with a lifetime warranty. The roof served us well, but over the last couple of years the paint began to peel and it became quite unsightly. We contacted Interlock to request a replacement. I have to admit, it took some time and a few follow-up emails and phone calls, but eventually our case was passed to Todd — and thanks to him, our problem was fully resolved.Todd arranged for the best installer, Danny, to handle our roof, and I don’t have enough words to describe how exceptional he is. Not only is Danny extremely knowledgeable and professional, but he is also a true perfectionist who pays attention to every detail. Our roof looks beautiful again thanks to both Todd and Danny. We truly appreciate their dedication and the quality of their work.
Ours was a complicated project with a concrete tile replacement, extremely steep slopes, custom fits and large surface area. Definitely not a roof you want to replace frequently so a lifetime warranty was most appealing. Interlock’s team for this project was super and results are fantastic.
One month into the purchase of my first house, a surprise awaited following a refresh of my gutters – two words every homeowner dreads hearing…’roof replacement!‘ High anxiety. Having no experience or know-how, being a rookie homeowner, replacing the roof felt daunting and uncomfortable. Hearing only the industry horror stories of work done poorly, inadequately and haphazardly, I feared the worst. I immediately took to Google in search of companies and quotes. It did not begin well. The first company priced my job at 24k, and suggested they’d need to ‘refresh’ it in 8 years. The second company was priced more moderately and offered 10 year coverage, but came across pushy, wanting me to sign on the dotted line after the first conversation. I had to tell the operator twice in the same chat that no, I would not be sending an advance payment immediately and was not ready to let them begin work. Needless to say, a terrible start to the search, confirming my fears about the industry and pricing. The next day, back to the Google I went, this time in search of the highest-rated company I could find. ‘Interlock Roofing‘ appeared, along with reviews touting the company’s metal roofing product that was both durable and held considerable ‘curb appeal.’ More than that, the reviews spoke of the company’s professionalism, honesty, quality of work and timeliness (no small feat in an industry known for the exact opposite!). I sent an initial interest email, hoping the reviews were real and true! And my goodness…did they prove to be! From my thorough initial chat with Lynda to the revealing Powerpoint orientation meeting with Mike, to Todd’s quote process and honest job pricing sans showroom showdown, to the finishing roof touches with installer extraordinaire Mike, and then, finally, addition of snowguards with expert Tariq…Interlock’s team went above and beyond. Patient, more than they probably should have been with me, a rookie with many questions (plenty of them of the ‘stupid’ variety if I do say!) and always willing to explain things simple or difficult. The culture and integrity of Interlock’s team really shines through at each step, and removed any anxiety I had. I completed a major 6-month renovation at my home, and I can say with 100% certainty…Interlock was my favorite contractor of the entire process, inside or out. Final word about the quality of product, the metal roof. I have spent the days, weeks and months since the install touting the Interlock roof to neighbors, family and friends! The quality is off the charts, and the peace of mind it provides is best of all – 50-year warranty and no lost sleep over leaks, water damage or degradation over time. The cost difference? The quotes I received…the pricing was remarkably similar for such a tremendous gap in value! And the process was transparent, the team trustworthy start to finish. Living in Vancouver in our climate, this is the only choice for peace of mind. The final bonus? It looks absolutely beautiful at street level. So, from one rookie homeowner to another…I hope you choose and trust Interlock with your home! Lynda, Mike, Todd, Mike and Tariq…folks with integrity you want working on your home.
To whom it may concern, We are writing to tell you how happy we are with our new roof installed by your company in May. Who knew when we went to the Vancouver Boat Show in January we would spend most of our time there at your presentation booth with salesman, Randal. He was very enthusiastic about your products, service and company. We arranged for him to come to our home to give us a quote where he explained the product, installation, history of company in detail and emphasized the quality of the products and installation and pride of ownership. Although the price was higher than expected, the end result was so much more than we expected. The installation went very well. Mike was amazing and we can’t say enough about how respectful he and his crew were. They cleaned up every day and explained every part of the installation as they progressed. They started the job on time and ended on time – again having our driveway lawn and patio areas absolutely clean and nail free. We have had many people stop to ask about the roof since it can be seen from a main street at the end of our cul-de-sac and we are more than happy to share our positive experience with them – passing along your phone number. Thank you for this positive experience and adding value to our home – and pride of ownership!
We are very pleased with the Interlock Roofing System that you recently installed on our 761 E.12th street property. We chose your product for it’s Clean, Contemporary look, Durability and Quality. Your installation Manager, Todd Jones, was always available for consultation. His professional approach and product expertise ensured we got what we needed to complete this Custom Design Roof, on time and within the budget. As you are aware, our home is a West Coast Contemporary Design; constructed of post and beams, glass and cement; with a roof line that looks simple but is, in fact, unique and complicated. It has 2 vertical floating wings with a flat horizontal overhang between them, all rising to the peak. The roof, then, drops back over the remainder of the house with large overhangs over several decks. All sides are visible from the street. We needed a product that complimented this design and looked good from all angles. Your installer, Mike Hayes, was excellent. His knowledge, workmanship and attention to detail made this roof a SHOWCASE for your product and our home. Many of our tradesman and all passersby have commented on the quality of work and your roofing system. All the comments are positive. It looks wonderful. The Interlock Roofing System gives the” WOW” factor we were hoping for, and the guarantee of a quality product, for many years to come. We would not hesitate to recommend your roofing system, at any time, and look forward, in the future, to doing business with you on our next project.
Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. To whom it may concern I would like to commend your staff who were very courteous and helpful from my first meeting with your representative, Colin James, who was very informative and answered all my questions and doubts regarding your roofing system. Colin made sure that I was quite comfortable with your system before I signed the contract. It was a pleasure to meet Colin. Your office was very good in keeping me informed on the delivery date of the materials and installation date. Todd followed up with phone calls to make sure that everything was on schedule. My special thanks goes to Michael Hayes who did an excellent job of the installation and took necessary steps to see that everything was okay. e.g. He mentioned about my skylights which needed replacing and informed Todd who placed an order for the replacement. No hesitation in commenting on his politeness and professionalism. My thanks to his helper, “quiet” James also.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Point Grey
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Point Grey, British Columbia. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Point Grey.
How does a metal roof handle Point Grey's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?
Metal roofs shed snow more effectively than asphalt because aluminum's smooth surface and interlocking four-way panel design prevent ice dam formation. Point Grey receives about 120 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 37 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that cause asphalt shingles to curl and crack as moisture cycles in and out. Interlock's non-porous aluminum construction eliminates water absorption entirely, so the freeze-thaw stress that degrades traditional roofing simply doesn't occur. The panels' light weight (~0.41 lb/sq ft for Shingle profile) means no structural strain from snow load, and optional snow guards can be added to manage runoff safely.
Will a metal roof leak in Point Grey's 2,470 mm of annual rainfall?
No. The four-way interlocking panel design creates a continuous mechanical seal that actively sheds water even in heavy downpours—Point Grey's average 2,470 mm annual rainfall presents no challenge to this engineered overlap. Unlike asphalt shingles, which deteriorate and allow capillary water intrusion over time, aluminum panels cannot absorb water. The interlocking profile means fasteners are hidden and protected, eliminating the leak pathways that develop around exposed fastener heads. When installed to Interlock's specifications per ESR-1790, the roof becomes a solid drainage plane; combined with a solid deck and underlayment, the system performs identically to asphalt in terms of quiet operation while offering superior durability.
Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like steel, especially near saltwater?
Aluminum simply cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element required for rust formation. Instead, aluminum develops an invisible oxide layer that forms instantly when exposed to air and heals itself when scratched. Point Grey's coastal proximity and salt-laden air would devastate steel roofing within years, but Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) coated on both sides with Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish—extra protection in salt-air environments. This dual-side coating is warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading. Over a 50-year lifespan, an aluminum roof outperforms steel by decades in coastal climates.
Can a metal roof withstand Point Grey's wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Point Grey's typical gusts reach 95 km/h—well below the warranty threshold—so coastal wind events pose no risk. The four-way interlocking panel system locks each sheet to its neighbors both horizontally and vertically, creating a unified system that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. UL testing (UL 2218 Class 4) confirms this engineering; real-world installations range from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, proving performance in extreme conditions.
Do I need to reinforce my house to install a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates the visual weight of traditional clay or concrete tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than the actual tile it resembles. Even the heavier Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft is negligible compared to slate, concrete, or wood. Point Grey homes already built for conventional asphalt shingles can accept a metal roof without modification. This light weight is one reason metal roofing installs over most existing roofs without tear-off, reducing debris disposal and installation cost. Aluminum's strength comes from its alloy composition and interlocking design, not mass.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost over the long term?
Yes, when measured across the roof's full life. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years and require tear-off and landfill disposal each cycle; a metal roof operates for 50+ years with zero material degradation, zero maintenance, and is ~95% recyclable at end-of-life. Over 50 years, one asphalt replacement (plus removal costs) easily matches or exceeds metal roofing's initial investment. Add Point Grey's 2,470 mm annual rainfall and 37 freeze-thaw days—both conditions that accelerate asphalt deterioration—and the payback window closes further. Current regional promotion offers interest-free payments for 3 months and saves at least $2,499 on installation, making the transition accessible.
What warranty covers a metal roof, and is it transferable?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once: the second owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion. This structure reflects the product's actual lifespan—Interlock has been manufactured in Delta, BC, since 1998 and installed on homes across decades and geographies. Non-prorated means you're covered year one through year fifty on equal terms; prorated warranties penalize you for age. For Point Grey buyers, this warranty translates to genuine peace of mind through one resale cycle and substantial value for the home's next owner.
What profile options does Interlock offer, and which suits my home?
Interlock offers five profiles: Slate (clean, modern lines), Cedar Shingle (traditional dimensional look), Shake (rustic wood-grain texture), Mediterranean Tile (curved barrel profile), and Standing Seam (vertical seams, contemporary). Each profile is available in multiple colors and is manufactured using the same four-way interlocking aluminum construction and Alunar® 70% PVDF finish. Selection is aesthetic—all profiles deliver identical durability, fire rating (Class A available), and performance in Point Grey's 2,788 annual sunshine hours and freeze-thaw cycles. Your choice should align with your home's architectural style and personal preference; the technical performance remains constant regardless.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?
None. Aluminum roofing requires zero maintenance—no algae treatment, no moss removal, no resealing, no re-coating. The material itself never degrades, splits, curls, or rots as asphalt, wood, or clay do. Point Grey's 2,470 mm annual rainfall rinses the roof naturally; the 30-year Alunar® coating warranty protects against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244). Gutters may need routine cleaning (true for any roof), but the roof surface itself demands nothing. This is why the Guardian Warranty is non-prorated—the roof doesn't degrade with age, so a 50-year-old installation still performs as new. CALGreen-verified reduced-maintenance status reflects this reality.
How is a metal roof installed, and how long does it take?
Installation begins with a roof inspection; if your existing roof is sound, metal panels install directly over it without tear-off, eliminating disposal costs and timeline. Interlock's lightweight aluminum (~0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) means fast, safe handling. Panels are fastened according to ESR-1790 specifications using concealed fasteners, then sealed with interlocking edges that join together—no exposed metal-to-weather interfaces. Most residential projects complete within 2–5 days, depending on roof size and weather (Point Grey's typical gusts of 95 km/h don't preclude installation). The local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd., has served the region since 1983 and can coordinate timeline to fit your schedule.
