What our customers are saying:
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!
To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />
Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!
Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!
Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.
Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.
Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.
My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.
I love my new roof. It looks great and I know the house is in better shape without the heavy deteriorating asphalt shingles. My house is the only one on the block with no snow on the roof, and I can't wait to hear it in the rain
We are delighted with the workmanship and quality of our new roof. It has exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend an Interlock Roof to anyone looking to replace an old roof.
Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Jersey Township
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Jersey Township, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Jersey Township.
How does a metal roof handle Minnesota's heavy snow loads and ice dams?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice faster than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface and steep panel profiles prevent moisture from pooling. Jersey Township averages about 101 cm of snow annually, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels—warranted for 120 mph wind resistance—stay firmly locked in place even when snow melts and refreezes. The lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means your home's structure carries far less weight than traditional slate or tile, reducing stress during the 77 freeze-thaw days you experience each year. Optional snow guards can be added if you prefer to manage melt more gradually.
Will freeze-thaw cycles in Minnesota damage an aluminum metal roof?
Aluminum's oxide layer naturally resists freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt and wood shingles. Unlike iron-based steel, aluminum contains no iron and cannot rust—even when exposed to Minnesota's ~557 mm of annual rain and the temperature swings that trigger about 77 freeze-thaw cycles yearly. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both sides handles these cycles without weakening. The Guardian Warranty covers cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—peace of mind through decades of Minnesota winters.
Can a metal roof withstand Minnesota wind gusts?
Yes. Jersey Township experiences typical gusts around 103 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—nearly twice your region's peak gusts. The interlocking design creates a unified system where each panel locks to its neighbors, preventing uplift and edge separation during severe weather. This mechanical strength, verified under ICC-ES ESR-1790 for both IBC and IRC compliance, means your roof stays secure through spring storms and rare extreme events. Installation to specification ensures full warranty coverage.
Does a metal roof resist hail, and can it lower insurance costs?
Interlock aluminum roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because metal roofs reduce claim frequency. Minnesota's climate brings variable spring weather, and the combination of impact resistance plus long-term durability (no wear-out cycle like asphalt) makes insurers view metal roofing favorably. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating and the Guardian Warranty details to explore premium reductions. A single hail event that would require asphalt replacement may leave your metal roof unharmed.
Do I need to reinforce my house structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile, at about 0.59 lb/sq ft, is roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, and even the heaviest Shake profile (0.58 lb/sq ft) weighs far less than traditional materials. This lightweight design means the roof installs directly over most existing structures—and over existing asphalt shingles—without costly framing upgrades. Jersey Township homes built for standard asphalt loads can safely carry Interlock aluminum. This advantage also reduces stress during the 77 annual freeze-thaw cycles and heavy snow periods (about 101 cm yearly), extending the life of your existing structural frame.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Interlock aluminum roofing requires virtually no maintenance—no sealing, no patching, no replacement of deteriorating shingles or shakes. Asphalt shingles curl and crack within 15–20 years; wood splits and rots; tile breaks and absorbs moss. Your aluminum roof's non-iron composition and self-healing oxide layer resist the damage that drives maintenance cycles. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (30-year warranty against chalking and fading) means color stays vibrant through Jersey Township's ~3,098 annual sunshine hours and ~557 mm of rain. CALGreen verification recognizes Interlock for reduced maintenance burden. You'll spend your money once, not repeatedly.
What warranty comes with an Interlock metal roof, and how long will it really last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. If you sell, the warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. This breadth of protection reflects Interlock's manufacturing history since 1998 and real-world installations from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. The roofing-grade aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating endures decades through Minnesota's ~101 cm snow, ~557 mm rain, and 77 freeze-thaw cycles yearly. You're buying your last roof.
Can a metal roof help reduce cooling costs in summer?
Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors have thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny)—meaning the roof reflects heat that asphalt absorbs. During Jersey Township's ~3,098 annual sunshine hours, this reflectance keeps attic temperatures lower than dark asphalt, reducing air-conditioning load and utility bills. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification validates these energy benefits. Metal's conductive properties also allow heat to dissipate rather than radiate into living spaces. Over a 50-year lifespan, the cooling savings can offset initial cost, especially in homes with significant roof exposure. You're investing in comfort and efficiency simultaneously.
How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?
Interlock installs quickly over most existing roofs—no tear-off, no disposal costs, no weeks of disruption. The lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement; installation crews work faster than traditional roofing. The solid deck and sound underlayment system ensure the roof is as quiet as asphalt during Jersey Township's ~557 mm annual rainfall, despite metal's reputation for noise. Installing over existing shingles also preserves an insulating air layer, which helps moderate the temperature swings from 77 freeze-thaw cycles yearly. Interlock Metal Roofing, serving this region since 2001, handles scheduling and permitting. Ask for a site assessment to confirm timeline and cost savings for your specific home.
Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Absolutely. Aluminum roofing is approximately 95% recyclable; when your roof eventually reaches end of life, the material returns to mills rather than a landfill. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are torn off every 15–20 years and sent to landfills by the millions of tons—an endless cycle. Interlock breaks that cycle. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy requires far less energy to recycle than to produce virgin metal, and the 50+ year lifespan means far fewer replacement cycles per century. Jersey Township's ~101 cm of snow and ~557 mm rain annually pose no durability risk—your single installation lasts multiple asphalt lifespans. Choosing metal is a tangible environmental commitment that aligns with your home's long-term stewardship.
