| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
Thanks for a very positive roofing experience! Our new roof is so beautiful we’re thinking of charging a fee to all the gawking neighbors that stop by to admire it!!! This was fun, positive experience from start to finish. Our sales rep spent three hours at our home going over every possible detail with us. He was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our questions. As you can see by the pictures we have a pretty basic roof. There was no tear off to do; still, our three installers were 80% done on the very first day! Everything was done and cleaned up to our satisfaction by the end of day two. Our installers were friendly, courteous and hard working. I watched them for a few minutes as they all worked like a finely tuned machine installing our roof in perfect rhythm. For us, Interlock meant that the third time was the charm. We’d tried to do business with two other companies. The first took a large amount of money as a down payment and gave absolutely no customer service for two months. We got our money back and started over. The second company gave an inaccurate bid. Needless to say, we entered into this contract with some trepidation. interlock is a fabulous company and we’d recommend them to anyone in the market for a new roof!
We are writing this letter to show our appreciation for the wonderful job that was done on our roof. From the date your company representative met with us in our home to the date of completion, words cannot express how completely satisfied we are with your company. We definitely wanted a quality roof and were very impressed by the representation that was given to us. The product you provide was enough for us to make our decision, however it was a huge plus not to have to deal with a pushy salesman and to have such polite, friendly and hard working men providing the service. It was a pleasure to have them around our home. The quality, craftsmanship and lifetime warranty of this roof far outweighs the increased costs over other roof systems. However, other roof systems don't come with lifetime warranties and many only last for 8 to 10 years. We may have paid a little more initially, but how wonderful it is to know we will never have to re-roof our home again. And in addition to all of the above, it looks so beautiful and has added so much style to our home. I never dreamed a roof could make such a difference. Again, Thank you so much and be sure to know we will highly recommend your company to all of our family and friends.
I am very pleased with the entire experience with Interlock Roofing. Ross did a fantastic job of showing me all of the options available, and explaining how Interlock is different from other roofing. This was not a hard sales pitch. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable a metal roof was. I had five other estimates for a traditional composite roof, and the price difference for a forever roof was negligible considering all the benefits. Next, the installation. These guys were amazing! Only two guys doing the demo and reroof, but very hard workers and did a fantastic job. It seems rare these days to find skilled tradesmen that take pride in their work, and these guys exceeded my expectations. I also took advantage of Interlock’s financing. Drew was very helpful and accommodating. The whole process was taken care of through Interlock, making it super convenient and great communication throughout. I will highly recommend:)
We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks. Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job. We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.
I have already recommended them. Those guys were amazing. Peter, Victor, and the other installation guys were just unbelievable. It is a great company, and they did a great job with my roof. I get compliments all the time. It was a wonderful experience. They did a wonderful job on the house. It looks fantastic.
Interlock Roofing is amazing. From the first day I met their salesman to the day they started work on our barn and house. They were very easy to talk to and express our concern about how important it was to keep our hay safe from rain and the ground around the barn safe for the animals. They were fast exceptionally clean and so much fun to get to know. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have a roof that will last a life time. Thank you for an amazing job and two beautiful roofs!
My wife and I want to express our complete satisfaction with the "Aged Copper" roof your firm installed on our "Barn-house" and gazebo. The two roofs have a high quality appearance and they enhance the looks of the property. We are looking forward to many years of satisfaction. We are now planning to re-paint the house with a color to better blend with the roof. The work performed by your installers was outstanding. They were friendly and very professional. They worked efficiently and energetically, and it was obvious they had the skills to do the job. Thank you for being such an excellent firm.
My husband and I would like to thank you for coming to our residence and explaining your product and all of its advantages. We were very impressed at this time and excited to start the beautification process of our home, which has been in my husband’s family for 5 generations now. It has undergone many remodels, upgrades, and changes throughout the years with a lot of help from friends and family. We will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year. The new roof is definitely a wonderful way to do so! The whole Interlock family was friendly and extremely easy to work with from the beginning of this process to the end. The job was started on time and finished when promised. We are very pleased with how smoothly the project went and very thankful that we were not the ones on top of the house!
HELLO! I am Gerry from Olympia, Washington. A few years ago, I had my re-roofing done by INTERLOCK ROOFING SYSTEM for my house here in Olympia. I would like to thank the INTERLOCK ROOFING SYSTEM for the best, beautiful metal roof I ever had; the color choice never changed in spite of the weather condition here in Washington. So, if you want your home to deserving a thorough, keen, professional touch, quality, and professionalism, I would highly recommend INTERLOCK LIFETIME ROOFING SYSTEMS for your COMPLETE METAL ROOFING.
We both work for Nordstrom and have come to expect a certain level of customer service. Both Paul and Ross were exceptional in this regard. They were knowledgeable friendly and very thorough! I would highly recommend interlock for anyone looking into metal roof options.
The roof is absolutely beautiful and compliments our home. The work was fast and professional. Communication about scheduling. Clean up of job site. We absolutely love the roof.
We were extremely pleased with Interlock Roofing as our selection to install an aluminum roof on our house and two outbuildings. The installation team were extremely hard workers and were always courteous and conscientious and left our project very clean. We would highly recommend all of them to anyone interested in a new roof including Paul Wright and the administration staff. Ron and Joanne Quiring nothing

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Bear Creek
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Bear Creek, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Bear Creek.
How does a metal roof handle Bear Creek's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt, and the smooth surface resists ice dam formation in your region's typical 58 freeze-thaw days per year. Aluminum's thermal conductivity means heat from your home melts snow at the roof-deck interface without pooling. Optional snow guards can be installed to control where snow slides. The lightweight design—Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft—means no structural reinforcement is needed even with about 120 cm of annual snowfall, and the panels won't degrade from repeated freeze-thaw stress the way asphalt, wood, and concrete tile do over decades.
Why won't my aluminum metal roof rust in Washington's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead it develops a self-healing transparent oxide layer that re-forms when scratched. Even in Bear Creek's 1761 mm of annual rainfall, that oxide barrier protects the core metal indefinitely. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum (ASTM B209) and applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating to both panel sides for extra durability in moisture-rich environments. Steel roofing, by contrast, oxidizes from the inside out once its paint fails. You'll never replace your roof due to rust, and the 30-year coating warranty against fading reflects real-world performance in climates far saltier and wetter than Lewis County.
Does metal roofing crack and degrade faster than asphalt in freeze-thaw climates?
No—the opposite occurs. Aluminum expands and contracts smoothly without cracking because it's homogeneous and ductile; asphalt becomes brittle as it ages, then cracks and curls precisely when your area experiences about 58 freeze-thaw cycles annually. Wood shakes split and rot; concrete and clay tile fracture in the freeze-thaw cycle. Interlock aluminum panels are engineered for temperature swings from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. The interlocking seams accommodate movement without stress concentration, and the substrate won't absorb moisture and expand the way mineral-based materials do. After two or three asphalt replacement cycles, your metal roof will still be watertight and impact-rated (UL 2218 Class 4) with its original structural integrity intact.
How does a metal roof keep water out during heavy rainfall in Bear Creek?
Interlock's four-way interlocking design creates a mechanical lock that sheds water downslope; rain cannot migrate uphill against the interlocked seams. The profile geometry and standing-seam variants direct the 1761 mm of annual rainfall efficiently toward gutters without pooling. When installed to specification over solid decking with underlayment, the system stops water in the air before it reaches the deck. Loose fasteners or poor installation are the only common leak vectors—and Interlock (PNW) Inc., your regional installer since 1997, knows Lewis County's roof angles and wind loading patterns. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) confirms water-shedding performance under IBC/IRC standards, and the non-prorated lifetime limited warranty covers any perforation or corrosion-related leaks for the original owner.
Will a metal roof hold up in Bear Creek's winter wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock aluminum roofs are warranted to resist sustained winds of 120 mph when installed per specification, and they handle your region's typical gusts of 128 km/h (80 mph) with margin. The four-way interlocking panels lock together mechanically—each panel hooks into its neighbors on all four sides—so wind cannot peel a single panel free. This differs sharply from shingle roofs, where wind peeling begins at edges and accelerates. Interlock's lightweight construction (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) reduces uplift force, and the design has been tested in real gale conditions from coastal British Columbia storms to Antarctic katabatic winds. No special bracing is required for standard Lewis County installations, and the wind warranty is part of the Guardian coverage.
Does hail damage in Washington affect metal roof insurance or claims?
Interlock metal roofs carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty specifically covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating means insurance companies often offer lower premiums or reduced deductibles compared to asphalt, which fails catastrophically in hail. Bear Creek receives about 2743 sunshine hours annually, so dramatic hail events are not your primary weather pattern, but when they do occur, metal's non-denting performance and impact coverage provide peace of mind. Ask your insurer about discounts for Class 4 roof installation; many carriers credit the durability and longevity into your rate. Your installer, Interlock (PNW) Inc., can document the rating for your policy file.
Can I install a metal roof over my existing roof without reinforcing the structure?
Yes, for most homes. Interlock's extraordinarily light weight—the Mediterranean Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means no structural reinforcement is needed. Even the heaviest profile (Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft) weighs far less than the asphalt shingles, wet felting, ice, and 120 cm of occasional snow your roof already supports. You can install Interlock directly over your existing roof in most cases, eliminating tear-off labor and landfill waste. A structural engineer or your local installer can verify your specific framing, but in typical Lewis County residential construction, the lightweight design means lower labor costs and faster installation. The ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms the approach meets building code, and you keep your old insulation in place.
What maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Almost none. Metal requires no algae treatment, no granule replacement, no sealing, and no moss scraping—chores asphalt and wood demand every few years in Bear Creek's 1761 mm of annual rainfall and 194 cm of snow. Gutters still need cleaning (leaves, not asphalt granules), and you may rinse bird droppings, but the roof surface itself is inert and maintenance-free. CALGreen verification confirms reduced-maintenance performance. Asphalt becomes brittle after 15–20 years and leaks escalate; wood rots; concrete tile cracks. Interlock's aluminum oxide coating and PVDF finish remain stable across the 58 annual freeze-thaw cycles your region experiences. The Guardian warranty does not require annual inspections or professional maintenance to remain valid, and the coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244).
What warranty comes with an Interlock metal roof, and how long will it actually last?
The Guardian warranty is non-prorated lifetime limited for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no declining benefit over time. If you sell your home, the warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. Real-world durability is equally compelling: Interlock has been manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, and installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, proving 25+ years of in-service performance across extreme climates. Your roof will outlast three or four asphalt cycles. The coating is separately warranted 30 years against fading and chalking, and the hail warranty covers perforation from 1.5-inch hailstones. Combined with the lightweight design's structural longevity, Interlock is the last roof most homeowners install.
What metal roof profiles does Interlock offer, and how do they look?
Interlock offers five profiles: Slate (subtle, linear texture), Cedar Shingle (overlapping shingle pattern), Shake (wider, rougher shake appearance), Mediterranean Tile (high-profile barrel tile geometry), and Standing Seam (clean, modern vertical ribs). Each replicates the traditional material's visual profile in lightweight aluminum—Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft versus heavy cedar requiring structural reinforcement, or Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft versus concrete tile requiring roofing upgrades. All profiles feature four-way interlocking seams, the same durability, and the same Alunar 70% PVDF coating finish. Available in multiple colors and finishes, each profile performs identically in wind (120 mph warranty), hail (UL 2218 Class 4), and your region's heavy rainfall and freeze-thaw cycles. Your local installer, Interlock (PNW) Inc., can show samples and discuss which profile matches your home's architecture and your neighborhood's character.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Bear Creek’s climate?
Yes. Bear Creek averages about 194 cm of snow, 1761 mm of rain, roughly 58 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 128 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
