| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Trotter
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Trotter, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Trotter.
Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice buildup in Trotter winters?
Yes — Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice efficiently, and the lightweight design (the Shake profile installs at just 0.58 lb/sq ft) means no structural strain even when Trotter receives around 398 cm of snow annually. Unlike heavy slate or tile roofs that demand reinforcement before installation, aluminum handles your region's typical snow loads without upgrades. The smooth surface and panel slope naturally encourage shedding rather than retention, reducing ice dam formation across the winter freeze-thaw cycles Trotter experiences about 96 days per year.
Will metal roofing crack or split during Trotter's freeze-thaw weather?
Aluminum will not crack, split, or curl — those failures are covered under the Guardian lifetime limited warranty and simply don't happen with this material. Trotter's approximately 96 annual freeze-thaw days won't damage aluminum because it expands and contracts without permanent deformation, unlike wood shakes or slate tiles that fracture under repeated temperature cycles. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) flexes safely through your region's mean temperature of 8.5°C and seasonal swings, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating protects against moisture infiltration during those transitions.
Can a metal roof rust in Trotter's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — that's the core difference from steel roofing. Trotter receives about 535 mm of annual rainfall plus heavy snow melt, creating an ideal environment where aluminum's naturally formed oxide layer actually self-heals when scratched. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides of every panel) adds a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading, giving coastal-grade protection even though Trotter sits inland. This dual-layer defense means corrosion simply isn't a concern for the life of your roof.
How does metal roofing perform in Trotter's wind and gusts?
The four-way interlocking design and the 120 mph wind warranty handle Trotter's typical 10 km/h winds plus gusts that reach 102 km/h without fail. Wind pressure is distributed across all four edges of each panel, preventing uplift and flutter — the engineering is proven in coastal salt-air installations and beyond. When installed to specification by a qualified contractor, the locked connection resists panel separation and stress at overlap points where standard shingles often fail. Trotter's gust conditions, while seasonal, pose zero risk to a properly installed Interlock roof.
Does metal roofing hold up to hail, and will my insurance care?
Interlock carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 performance often qualifies homeowners for insurance premium discounts because the roof's resistance to impact damage reduces claims risk. Many insurers recognize that aluminum's dent resistance and non-penetration durability lower future repair costs. Contact your provider with the UL 2218 Class 4 designation; in Trotter's climate zone, this rating can meaningfully offset your annual premium.
Will a metal roof actually save energy in Trotter's climate?
In Trotter's roughly 3289 annual sunshine hours, choosing an energy-efficient metal roofing color reflects solar heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing cooling loads year-round. The Aged Copper Penny finish achieves 0.55 initial solar reflectance and 0.84 thermal emissivity, cooling your home compared to dark asphalt (which absorbs and re-radiates heat). Over a 50-year roof lifespan, the energy savings compound as your HVAC system works less. Trotter's moderate annual mean of 8.5°C keeps heating costs reasonable, but summer heat reflection pays dividends whether you live in town or nearby — and energy-efficiency colors come with the same 30-year coating warranty.
Do I need to reinforce my house framing for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft — about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile — and installs directly over most existing roofs, including asphalt shingles. This extraordinary lightness means your home's frame, trusses, and foundation carry no extra burden. Many homeowners in Trotter can avoid costly structural upgrades that would be mandatory with real slate or tile. The weight advantage also simplifies installation logistics and reduces labor complexity compared to heavy traditional materials.
What maintenance does a metal roof need in Trotter?
Metal roofing requires far less upkeep than asphalt, wood, or tile. You won't replace missing or curling shingles, remove moss or algae growth, or patch rot — the Guardian warranty covers cracking, splitting, and curling outright. Trotter's 535 mm annual rainfall means occasional debris in gutters, but the roof itself sheds moisture without degradation. The Alunar finish doesn't chalk or fade over 30 years, eliminating the cosmetic decline that plagues asphalt. Spring inspection of flashing and fasteners is standard practice, but the aluminum panels themselves remain maintenance-free for decades.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Over the roof's life, Interlock is the last roof you buy. Asphalt typically needs replacement at 15–20 years; metal roofing outlasts three asphalt roofs and carries a lifetime limited (non-prorated) warranty for the original owner, plus a one-time transferable 50-year term for the next owner. Factor in the avoided tear-off labor and landfill fees every 15 years, the lower maintenance costs, potential insurance discounts (Class 4 hail rating), and energy savings from energy-efficiency reflectance across three decades. The current regional promotion — no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation — further closes the gap. For a Trotter homeowner planning to stay, the total cost of ownership favors metal decisively.
