What our customers are saying:
Clean up when you are done!!!
I really really want to love my roof, I really do, and I'm almost there, only time will tell for sure. Roofs are an expensive investment literally on your most important asset. You need to have a product you can trust installed correctly to protect you, your assets in the home, and your family. You have choices on what kind of roof to put on and costs all over the place. Interlock aluminum roofing is not cheap, was not the most expensive quote I got, nor the lowest. The things that sold me were material, as aluminum will not rust, and being in Washington state, we get rain often so this was a factor. And then their warranty claims, which sadly I was lied directly to my face by their sales reps. Now don't get me wrong, their warranty is still very good, it was represented to me as even better than it actually is which really pisses me off. Had the sales reps told me the truth, I think I'd still have gone with their product because as I said their warranty is still very good. I hope the product does its job and I never have to use the warranty, that's the real goal here. Better communication, when crew was to arrive, when they would leave, if they leave will they return again that day.
Client Service
Interclock could have improved on time to complete the project. There were about 4 days when the weather was favorable but no worker showed up to do any work. There was no communication from Interlock as for the reason why. The price increase from 46k to 48k was unexpected. We were determined to go with Interlock for a new roof but an opportunity to refinance our home from 5/1 ARM to fixed rate presented itself so took care of that first. Also, it would have been nice to have a final walk-through at the completion of the project before the final payment.
Why doesn't Interlock offer a color brochure (competitors do).
The job site foreman should arrive with the work crew on the first day to go over the details of the project.
I think they need to have safety equipment and training for the installers. They need more people on a crew and they need to take a good look at the installers before they hire them. I think they need to take a better look at the installers they hire. I wasn't happy that they didn't have the proper safety requirements in place. This left me as the home owner in a very bad place if someone gets hurt on my property. I am happy with the roof now that it is done.
More financing options should be available with lower interest rates, 9% would be much more attractive than 13%.
I am sold on the quality of Interlock products but have read reviews and issues with the installation or craftsmanship in Hawaii and some other places. I am counting on lifetime warranty from Interlock and good customer service from my initial contacts. Before filling out this survey I was thinking about how to coordinate the replacement of skylights. I have the model in mind for four 2 X 4 & one 2 x 2 skylights, and one solar tube. The chimney for the furnace also need to be replaced. I still have some question about flashing or warranty if these parts leak.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Bryant
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Bryant, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Bryant.
How does a metal roof handle Bryant's heavy snow load and ice dams?
Interlock metal panels shed snow efficiently due to their smooth, interlocking surface and light weight—the Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft, so no structural reinforcement is needed even with Bryant's average 52 cm annual snowfall and typical winter gusts reaching 96 km/h. The four-way interlocking design prevents water infiltration, and snow guards can be added to manage slide-off in specific zones. Aluminum's thermal properties allow heat to conduct slightly differently than asphalt, reducing the freeze-thaw cycling stress that causes ice dam buildup over the roughly 58 freeze-thaw days Bryant experiences yearly.
Will freeze-thaw cycles in Snohomish County damage an aluminum metal roof?
Freeze-thaw cycling cannot damage aluminum roofing because the material itself does not absorb water or expand when frozen. Unlike asphalt shingles that crack and curl, or wood shakes that split, aluminum's 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 alloy (ASTM B209) maintains structural integrity through Bryant's 58 annual freeze-thaw days and mean temperature of 10.2°C. The self-healing oxide layer protects the core metal; any minor surface scratches seal automatically. The Guardian Warranty explicitly covers splitting and cracking, but aluminum roofing simply does not experience these failures in cold climates.
Can a metal roof handle Bryant's 1,372 mm of annual rainfall without leaks?
Yes—the four-way interlocking panel design prevents water penetration even in sustained heavy rain. Bryant's annual rainfall of about 1,372 mm is managed by the overlapping panel edges and valleys; water moves across and off the roof rather than pooling or seeping into seams. Installation over solid decking with underlayment creates the same leak protection as asphalt shingles but without the degradation that rain causes to asphalt coatings over time. The interlocking geometry and sloped profiles (Slate, Shake, Cedar Shingle, Tile, Standing Seam) all direct water downward immediately, making this roofing system exceptionally reliable in the Pacific Northwest's wet climate.
Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing, especially in wet climates?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes in moisture. Instead, a thin, transparent oxide layer forms on the aluminum surface (called the patina), and this layer self-heals when scratched, preventing corrosion of the underlying metal. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (applied to both sides of every panel and warranted 30 years) adds extra protection in salt air and wet climates like Bryant, which averages 52 cm snow and 1,372 mm rain annually. This dual-protection system—the inherent oxide layer plus the high-grade coating—ensures no rust, no rot, and no structural failure, even after decades of exposure to Snohomish County's damp Pacific Northwest conditions.
Does metal roofing stay secure in Bryant's wind gusts?
Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Bryant's typical gusts reach 96 km/h, well below this threshold. The four-way interlocking panel edges lock together mechanically, distributing wind pressure across the entire roof system rather than allowing individual panels to lift or separate. This mechanical interlock is far more wind-resistant than nailed-down asphalt or wood shakes, which can peel away in sustained gusts. Installation by Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., serving the region since 1997, ensures each panel is properly seated and fastened to handle the region's typical wind patterns.
Can my older Bryant home support a metal roof without structural upgrades?
Almost certainly yes, because aluminum metal roofing is extraordinarily light. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which visually replicates heavy ceramic tile, installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Even the heavier Shake profile weighs only 0.58 lb/sq ft. Most homes built to withstand a traditional asphalt shingle roof (which averages 2–3 lb/sq ft) can accept metal roofing without reinforcement. This light weight also allows installation directly over most existing roofs, saving the cost and landfill impact of tear-off. Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms code compliance for residential installation across the region.
How long will a metal roof last, and what does the warranty cover?
The Guardian Warranty provides a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—failures that plague asphalt and wood in Bryant's 58 annual freeze-thaw days and 1,372 mm rainfall. The warranty is transferable once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding significant resale value. Real-world Interlock roofs installed since 1998 in coastal salt-air homes and even Antarctic research stations demonstrate longevity well beyond typical asphalt lifespans (15–20 years). The Alunar coating itself carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading, ensuring the roof maintains its appearance and UV protection across decades.
Can metal roofing look like slate, cedar shake, or tile on my Bryant home?
Yes. Interlock offers five distinct profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam—each replicating the visual texture of traditional materials while delivering aluminum's durability. Profiles are manufactured from roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy with the Alunar 70% PVDF finish in multiple colors, so the roof appearance matches the architectural style of your home. All five profiles are available for installation in Bryant through Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. The light weight (Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than actual tile) and four-way interlocking edges provide the same weather protection regardless of profile, so you choose the look that suits your home's character and neighborhood.
Is metal roofing fire-safe for homes in Snohomish County?
Yes. Aluminum is non-combustible—it does not ignite, spread flame, or contribute fuel to fire. Class A fire classification is available for Interlock roofing, the highest fire rating in the building code. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025) confirms compliance with IBC/IRC fire standards for residential roofing. This is particularly valuable in the Pacific Northwest, where wildfire risk and building code requirements continue to evolve. The non-combustible rating also often reduces homeowner insurance premiums compared to asphalt roofs. When combined with the roof's Class 4 impact resistance (UL 2218, the highest available) and wind warranty to 120 mph, you gain comprehensive protection against the major climate and fire hazards affecting Snohomish County homes.
Will metal roofing help reduce cooling costs at my Bryant home?
energy-efficient Interlock colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, lowering roof surface temperature and reducing cooling demand. Bryant receives about 2,907 sunshine hours yearly, and even at the region's cool mean temperature of 10.2°C, the reflective finish provides measurable summer benefit. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms performance. While heating dominates the annual energy budget in Snohomish County's climate, the reflective properties prevent unnecessary summer heat gain and reduce the urban heat island effect around your home. Metal's excellent thermal conductivity also allows better heat dissipation than asphalt, and the lasting finish (30-year coating warranty) maintains reflectance over decades without the chalking and degradation that reduce asphalt's energy benefit within years.
