- Fully recyclable aluminum roofing supports long-term sustainability goals for Stratford homeowners and local property investors.
- Lifetime-limited transferable warranty provides measurable long-term protection and resale confidence for Stratford properties.
- When atmospheric-river-driven storms push inland, Stratford homeowners benefit from precision seams and standing-seam fastening that limit wind-driven rain ingress.
- Stratford is inland in Grant County—coastal salt-air corrosion is not a primary concern for local roofs, though the Alunar® Coating System still adds corrosion resistance where irrigation or local water features are present.
- Lower moss pressure than the coastal zone, but where shading and irrigation create damp microclimates in Stratford, coated panels reduce moss adhesion and simplify cleaning.

Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Stratford, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |
| Warranty: Lifetime-Limited, non-prorated + 50-year transferable | Lifetime protection + resale value: guarantees long-term material confidence and transfers to future owners. |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Stratford
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Stratford, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Stratford.
Will a metal roof hold up through Stratford's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum's 3105-H24 alloy actually improves in freeze-thaw conditions because it has no iron content and cannot rust or corrode. Stratford experiences about 79 freeze-thaw days per year, a stress that degrades asphalt shingles and wood. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly; the Alunar 70% PVDF coating remains flexible through temperature swings from well below freezing to warmer spring days. The four-way interlocking panels accommodate movement without cracking or splitting, which makes aluminum fundamentally more durable than brittle materials in your climate.
How does metal roofing handle snow load and ice dams in Grant County?
Interlock metal roofing weighs as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft (Shingle profile), so Stratford's average 35 cm annual snowfall creates no structural burden—even accumulated snow stays well below engineered limits. The smooth, hard surface and interlocking design naturally shed snow and ice rather than trapping moisture the way asphalt does. Snow guards can be installed where desired. The lightweight design means no costly roof reinforcement, yet the warranty covers wind gusts up to 120 mph, so ice-laden winds common in your region won't compromise the roof's integrity or longevity.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles in Stratford?
Metal roofing costs more initially but is the last roof you buy—asphalt lasts 15–20 years and ends in a landfill; Interlock's aluminum is lifetime limited for the original owner and transferable for 50 years. Over 40 years, you'll replace asphalt twice and pay for tear-off, disposal, and reinstallation; metal requires no re-roofing. Maintenance is minimal: no algae treatments, no nail pops, no curling in Stratford's freeze-thaw cycles. Current financing offers 10% off or no payments until Spring 2027, making the math work today. The transfer warranty adds resale value—your next owner inherits 50 years of protection.
What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—every failure mode that degrades other roofing materials in climates like Stratford's. It's transferable once: the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from the completion date. The Alunar coating itself is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (measured to ASTM D4214 standards), so color remains true through your 3485 annual sunshine hours. No other metal roofing offers this depth of protection or transfer term.
Can a metal roof install over my existing asphalt shingles?
Yes—Interlock's extreme lightness (as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft) means installation over existing shingles requires no structural reinforcement in most Stratford homes. The installer strips old roofing only if necessary for proper deck preparation. Four-way interlocking panels install quickly and predictably; most residential roofs complete in 1–3 days depending on size and complexity. Local installer Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served this region since 1997 and handles permitting, code compliance (ICC-ES ESR-1790), and inspections. Solid deck underlayment is installed for sound dampening and thermal efficiency, ensuring a quiet roof in rain.
Will hail damage a metal roof, and could I get insurance discounts?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Grant County's wind gusts reach 93 km/h; hail events, though less frequent than snow or freeze-thaw days, are handled without question. The combination of non-combustible aluminum and Class 4 impact resistance often qualifies homeowners for lower premiums with insurers that recognize metal roofing's durability. Unlike asphalt, which dents and leaks, metal's hardness and interlocking design shed impact energy, leaving the roof uncompromised and your coverage unaffected.
Does metal roofing save energy in Stratford's climate?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat rather than absorb it (initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity 0.84), reducing cooling demand even in summer months when Stratford reaches its warmest temperatures. Over a year with 3485 sunshine hours, this reflectivity compounds—less heat absorbed means lower air-conditioning runtime and lower bills. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable performance. Metal's tight interlocking panels also minimize air leakage around seams. In winter, underlayment provides thermal resistance. The net effect: stable interior temperatures year-round, lower HVAC strain, and payback through reduced energy costs over the roof's 50+ year life.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or tile?
Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance: no algae or moss treatments (aluminum doesn't support growth), no nail replacement, no seasonal inspections for curling or splits. Asphalt shingles degrade under Stratford's 79 annual freeze-thaw days, requiring ongoing repairs; wood shake rots and splits in moisture; clay tile cracks in freeze cycles. Interlock aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance—the Alunar 70% PVDF coating stays intact through salt, UV, and temperature swings for 30 years. Occasional gutter cleaning is all that's needed. Over 40 years, this means no repair bills, no seasonal stress, and peace of mind—a clear financial and practical advantage over traditional materials.
Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?
Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life; Interlock panels are manufactured in Delta, BC, and can be reclaimed as scrap aluminum indefinitely. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are single-use and end in landfills by the millions. Stratford's 216 mm annual rainfall and 79 freeze-thaw days mean asphalt roofs fail faster and require tear-off and disposal sooner—perpetuating the landfill cycle every 15–20 years. A 50-year Interlock roof eliminates four asphalt tear-offs and their environmental cost. Manufacturing-to-installation, metal roofing's carbon footprint is recovered in about 5 years through avoided replacements and tear-offs. Choosing metal is a concrete commitment to reducing construction waste.
Can I get the look of slate, cedar shake, or tile with a metal roof?
Yes—Interlock offers five authentic profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam, each with available colors and textures that match traditional materials. The aluminum panels are four-way interlocking and install identically regardless of profile, so your aesthetic choice doesn't affect durability or warranty. Mediterranean Tile, for example, weighs about 96% less than concrete or clay tile but delivers the visual depth and dimensional appeal. All profiles carry the same UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating, ESR-1790 code compliance, and 120 mph wind warranty. Your home's architectural style guides the profile; Stratford's climate and your budget guide the material choice—and aluminum delivers on both.
