Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Wilson Creek, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Wilson Creek
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Wilson Creek, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Wilson Creek.
Will a metal roof survive Wilson Creek's freeze-thaw cycles?
Aluminum roofing is ideal for your climate's roughly 79 freeze-thaw days per year because aluminum has no iron content and cannot rust, even when expansion and contraction cycles stress the material repeatedly. The oxide layer on the surface actually self-heals when scratched, so the micro-stresses from freezing moisture never create corrosion pathways the way they do on steel or wood. Combined with the two-sided Alunar fluorocarbon finish (warranted 30 years against chalking), your panels will resist the seasonal moisture swings that damage asphalt and shake roofs over time.
How does a metal roof handle Wilson Creek's snow and ice?
Your region receives about 44 cm of snow annually, and metal's smooth, hard surface naturally sheds snow and ice faster than asphalt or wood, reducing the weight load on your structure and minimizing ice dam formation along the eaves. The four-way interlocking panels are warranted for wind speeds up to 120 mph, which means they hold securely even when snow shifts or slides. If you choose optional snow guards with any profile, they anchor safely into the seams without penetrating the roof, keeping snow where you want it while the metal's zero-rust aluminum alloy stays intact through endless freeze-thaw cycles.
Why won't my metal roof rust like a steel roof would?
Aluminum roofing cannot rust because the material contains no iron—rust is an iron-oxide reaction that simply cannot occur. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a transparent oxide layer that actually strengthens and self-heals when the surface is scratched, which is why Interlock panels have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station since 1998. In Grant County's temperate climate with 239 mm of annual rainfall, this self-healing oxide barrier means your roof will never develop the rust spots, rust streaks, or structural corrosion that steel roofs or fasteners commonly do.
Can my house support a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?
Metal roofing is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile, which replaces heavy concrete or clay tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than the material it mimics. This means no structural reinforcement is needed, and in most cases Interlock panels install directly over your existing roof, eliminating costly tear-off labor and landfill hauling. Your home's framing was built to handle asphalt, which is heavier; metal is a gift to your structure's load capacity and longevity.
Will my metal roof stay on in Wilson Creek's windstorms?
Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are engineered to resist winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification—well above Grant County's typical gusts of about 92 km/h. The interlocking design means each panel is mechanically secured to the next, distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone. This redundancy, combined with the panels' light weight and low wind resistance profile, makes metal roofing one of the most wind-resilient choices for homes in areas with seasonal gust patterns like yours.
Does a metal roof hold up to hail, and could it lower my insurance costs?
Interlock metal roofing carries the highest impact rating available, UL 2218 Class 4, and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum construction often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because insurers recognize the durability and low-maintenance nature of the product. Grant County's typical weather patterns are moderate, but when severe hail does occur, you'll have documented impact protection and a warranty backing any claim—something asphalt shingles and wood cannot offer.
Will a metal roof keep my house cooler and reduce energy bills?
Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect heat rather than absorb it, with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 on colors like Aged Copper Penny. With Wilson Creek averaging 3,480 sunshine hours annually, this reflective benefit compounds year-round, reducing the cooling load your air conditioner must handle during warm months. The metal's thermal conductivity also helps dissipate any absorbed heat quickly, and because the panels are installed with proper ventilation, air circulation under the roof amplifies the cooling effect compared to asphalt, which absorbs and re-radiates heat into your home.
What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing, and how long will it really last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—plus it's transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding significant resale appeal. Interlock has manufactured these panels since 1998, and they're installed on homes from coastal climates to Antarctica, proving longevity in extreme conditions. In Wilson Creek's 79 annual freeze-thaw days and 44 cm snowfall, you're looking at a roof that will outlast multiple generations of asphalt shingles.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need in this climate?
Metal roofing requires dramatically less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or tile: no seasonal shingle replacement, no moss or algae treatment, no fastener replacement, and no wood rot or insect damage risk. In Wilson Creek's 239 mm annual rainfall and moderate climate, a simple annual inspection and light debris clearing are all that's needed to keep your roof performing optimally. The two-sided Alunar fluorocarbon finish (30-year warranty against fading) means the coating won't degrade from UV exposure, so you won't face the re-coating or repainting cycles that slate or tile roofs demand—it's a true set-it-and-forget-it solution.
Is a metal roof better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Aluminum roofing is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles torn off your home end up in landfills for decades without decomposing meaningfully. Interlock's lightweight design also means fewer truck trips during installation and no heavy demolition equipment, reducing your roof replacement's carbon footprint. Over 79 freeze-thaw days per year, asphalt degrades faster and requires earlier replacement; metal's durability eliminates the tear-off-to-landfill cycle, making it a responsible choice for homeowners who care about the long-term environmental cost of their roof.
