What our customers are saying:
Expensive but quality was good. My son had the same installation done at his house across the street and they left a mess over there so i say that i got the best crew.
Better communication and respect for my properly. Clean the area and be safe Very disappointed in the staff, problem resolution , schedule time it took 6 months to schedule. Also the manager was rude and not apologetic with problem resolution.
Michael was very personable and easy to work with.
Communication with install crew was difficult. No one spoke fluent English. and when received a call from install supervisor it was difficult to understand him.Other then trying to communicate with the crew, the crew worked late into the evening and did a great job. I understand it not easy to find good workers. The crew was polite and work hard and did great work, but a person who could speak English on the crew would be nice.
Yes. It just looks so good and you will never have to replace it. As mentioned above, communication, especially if there is a scope of work change, should be done as soon as possible. I really love my new roof. The cost was more than twice what I would have paid for a high-end "architectural" asphalt roof; but the longevity and look of the new roof is worth it. I know I will never have to think about my roof ever again. I have gotten many complements already from our neighbors, and many think it's a real slate roof (it looks that good).
Once they started the project they appeared to be overbooked. The scheduling was awful. The first day we hadfour men. After that, we only had two. There were days we were told they would come and then they wouldn't andthere were days we were told they weren't coming and they did. We kept being told they had people working in other states, or they had to work on other jobs. It was very difficult to decide on the color due to the small samples in the case. I ended up going to the office inWalpole and got an actual sample. I was able to easily make an informed decision. Had the salesman had thatsample the whole job would have gone much easier for everyone. Pictures and small samples in suitcasesaren't really reliable. Seeing the actual product made all the difference.
Placement of materials: On the contract sheet, it stated materials would be located on the driveway but I was told or led to understand by the salesman just prior to signing that they would be placed on a palate on my lawn to the right or left of my driveway. They were instead placed right in front of my garage doors so I had no ingress/egress through my garage for eleven days. One thing verbally intimated while another written down, and of course the written instruction prevailed. Should have been clearer about this, especially with a small driveway. Also I could have used a reminder to run an electrical cord out the window in the phone call I got the day before the first day of installation. I'm preoccupied (like everybody else) and that would have helped.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Babson Park
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Babson Park, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Babson Park.
How does a metal roof handle Babson Park's 120 centimeters of annual snow?
Aluminum's lightweight design sheds snow more efficiently than heavy asphalt or slate, reducing ice dam risk during Babson Park's typical freeze-thaw cycles of about 93 days per year. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and standing seam profiles channel meltwater without pooling. The panels themselves weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete tile—so snow load stress on framing is minimal. Optional snow guards can be added if you prefer to retain snow for insulation. Unlike wood shakes that absorb moisture and warp in repeated thaws, aluminum's oxide layer remains stable through endless wet-freeze cycles.
Will freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof in Massachusetts?
No. Aluminum naturally resists freeze-thaw damage because it has no iron, cannot rust, and its protective oxide coating self-heals when scratched. Babson Park experiences about 93 freeze-thaw days annually across 1058 mm of rainfall and 120 cm of snow, creating exactly the conditions where wood shakes split, asphalt blisters, and steel corrodes—but aluminum thrives. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading even under this cycling stress. Fasteners are stainless steel, and panel interlocks remain tight across temperature swings.
Can aluminum roofing rust in a New England climate with heavy rain and snow?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes in steel roofs. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, invisible oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath; if that layer is scratched, it self-heals within hours. Babson Park's 1058 mm annual rainfall and 17 km/h typical winds create conditions favorable for steel corrosion, but aluminum stays intact. The two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating adds an extra 30-year warranty against degradation. This is why Interlock panels have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations since 1998—aluminum is fundamentally corrosion-proof.
Does a metal roof save money on hail insurance in Massachusetts?
Potentially, yes. Interlock's aluminum panels carry the highest hail impact rating available—UL 2218 Class 4—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible rating and impact certification can qualify homeowners for insurance discounts; discuss your specific roof with your agent. By contrast, asphalt shingles dent and lose granules in impacts, reducing their life. Over Babson Park's typical 3054 annual sunshine hours and variable spring weather, Class 4 impact resistance pays for itself in claims avoided and maintained resale value.
Is an aluminum metal roof strong enough for New England wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, well above Babson Park's typical gust speeds of 104 km/h. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, creating a unified system that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This interlock method is validated in the ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790. Combined with proper fastening and a solid deck, these panels have performed in coastal storms and mountain passes for over 25 years.
Do I need to reinforce my house structure for a metal roof?
Almost never. Interlock's lightweight aluminum—as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile—weighs roughly 96% less than traditional slate or clay tile. This means no structural reinforcement is required in the vast majority of homes, even in Babson Park's 120 cm annual snow load climate. The light weight actually reduces overall roof stress during the area's 93 annual freeze-thaw cycles. Installation can often proceed directly over most existing roofs, eliminating tear-off and disposal costs. Your contractor will verify local code compliance (ESR-1790 applies), but structural upgrades are rarely the limiting factor.
What warranty does Interlock Metal Roofing offer, and how long will it last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original homeowner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion—a powerful resale feature. This warranty reflects aluminum's durability across Babson Park's 1058 mm rain, 120 cm snow, and 93 freeze-thaw days annually. Properly installed Interlock roofs commonly last 40–50+ years. The two-sided Alunar coating carries its own 30-year chalking and fading warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244), cementing this as your last roof.
Is a metal roof more cost-effective than asphalt over the long term?
Yes, when measured over a 40+ year lifespan. Asphalt shingles typically last 15–25 years in Babson Park's climate of heavy snow (120 cm), rainfall (1058 mm), and 93 annual freeze-thaw cycles—requiring two to three replacements and landfill disposal. Interlock aluminum installs once and performs for decades under these stressors, with no tear-off costs. The Guardian Warranty is lifetime (original owner) and transferable 50 years, adding resale value. Current financing—no payments or interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—further improves the equation. Lower maintenance (no granule loss, no moss treatment) reduces lifetime ownership cost.
Is aluminum roofing environmentally responsible compared to asphalt?
Significantly. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end-of-life, versus asphalt shingles that pile into landfills after 15–25 years. Babson Park homeowners typically replace asphalt twice in the lifetime of one Interlock roof, multiplying landfill impact. Interlock's lightweight design—0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft—requires no structural reinforcement, reducing material and waste during installation. Aluminum roofs are also CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning fewer chemical treatments over decades. Because the panels last 40+ years under local snow (120 cm), rain (1058 mm), and freeze-thaw stress, they measurably lower the carbon footprint of residential roofing.
Can an aluminum roof help lower cooling costs in summer?
Yes, if you choose energy-efficient colors. These carry thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), reflecting heat that dark asphalt absorbs. Cool Roof Rating Council certification validates this performance. Over Babson Park's 3054 annual sunshine hours, a reflective aluminum roof noticeably reduces attic temperature and cooling load compared to conventional shingles. The lightweight construction also improves attic ventilation efficiency. Although New England heating dominates energy costs, energy-efficiency colors provide measurable summer savings and improve year-round comfort.
