Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Copiague

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Copiague, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Copiague.

Will a metal roof hold up to New York's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Interlock's aluminum roofing is engineered specifically for climates like Copiague, which experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy expands and contracts without cracking or splitting—unlike asphalt, wood, and concrete tile, which deteriorate under repeated freezing. The Alunar coating bonds to both panel sides, protecting the metal oxide layer that self-heals when scratched. Your roof survives the cold without the seasonal degradation that shortens asphalt and slate roofs.

Can aluminum roofing rust in a humid Northeast climate?

Aluminum cannot rust—it contains no iron, the element that rusts. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a protective oxide layer that self-repairs when scratched. This matters in Copiague, where you receive about 1214 mm of rain annually and salt spray from the Atlantic can travel inland. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is applied to both sides of every panel and carries a 30-year fade and chalking warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244), adding another defense layer. Steel roofs corrode; aluminum roofs stay sound for decades.

How does a metal roof handle snow and ice in Copiague winters?

Interlock panels shed snow and ice efficiently due to their smooth, interlocking design—reducing the weight load on your structure compared to traditional roofing. Copiague averages about 55 cm of snow yearly. The lightweight Shingle profile installs at only 0.41 lb/sq ft, so even heavy snow accumulation creates less stress than asphalt shingles. Four-way interlocking keeps panels tight during freeze-thaw cycles (58 days per year here). If you want to prevent sliding snow, Interlock offers snow guards—but the roof itself sheds ice without pooling water that causes dams.

Is metal roofing strong enough for nor'easters and coastal wind gusts?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Copiague experiences typical daily-maximum winds around 22 km/h with gusts reaching 136 km/h—well within this rating. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than stressing individual fasteners. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind and uplift standards. Your roof will not lift, separate, or shed panels in a Northeast storm.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover hail damage to a metal roof, or give me a discount?

Interlock's aluminum roofing carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This certification may qualify you for insurance discounts; contact your insurer with the ICC-ES ESR-1790 report and UL listing 33876. Class 4 means your roof resists impacts that would dent or puncture asphalt shingles, wood shake, or most tile. In a region prone to spring and summer storms, this impact resistance translates to fewer claims and lower premiums over your roof's 50-year warranty term.

How waterproof is a metal roof in heavy rain?

Completely waterproof when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking design and standing-seam profiles channel water downward and outward, preventing pooling. Copiague receives approximately 1214 mm of rain per year—your roof must shed every drop without seeping. Underlayment and solid decking (standard with Interlock installations) create a dual-layer defense. Unlike asphalt shingles, which deteriorate when water penetrates granules, or wood shake, which absorbs moisture and rots, aluminum is inert. Even after decades of steady rain, the panels and interlocks remain water-tight.

Do I need to reinforce my house structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum roofing is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can support Interlock panels directly over existing asphalt shingles without additional framing. This matters in Copiague, where you avoid expensive structural work and can retrofit an aging roof quickly. Compare this to slate or genuine tile, which demand reinforced joists and trusses. Aluminum delivers the authentic appearance without the engineering cost.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's lifetime, yes—it is the last roof you will buy. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years and ends in a landfill; Interlock carries a non-prorated lifetime limited warranty for the original owner and remains transferable for 50 years from completion, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and curling. In Copiague's 58 freeze-thaw days per year and 1214 mm annual rainfall, asphalt degrades faster. You will replace asphalt at least twice during Interlock's lifespan; one metal roof purchase eliminates multiple tear-outs, disposal costs, and labor. The math favors metal when you factor in resale value and zero maintenance.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock panels are approximately 95% recyclable aluminum, ending the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle that generates millions of tons of waste annually. When your roof eventually reaches end-of-life, the aluminum returns to the recycling stream and becomes new cans, windows, or roofing—not landfill. Asphalt shingles cannot be recycled and persist in landfills for decades. Copiague's climate (1214 mm rain, 58 freeze-thaw days yearly) accelerates asphalt degradation and replacement cycles, multiplying landfill impact. A single Interlock installation avoids 2–3 asphalt replacements, reducing your home's environmental footprint significantly.

Is there a qualified installer serving Copiague for Interlock metal roofing?

Yes. Interlock Roofing of America has served the Copiague and Suffolk County region since 2014. They are factory-trained on all five Interlock profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—and handle installation from measurement through final inspection, including over-roof applications where allowed. Their familiarity with Northeast weather patterns, freeze-thaw demands, and coastal conditions ensures proper specification and installation to the full 120 mph wind warranty and ICC-ES ESR-1790 standards. Contact them for a site visit and estimate.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Copiague’s climate?

Yes. Copiague averages about 55 cm of snow, 1214 mm of rain, roughly 58 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 136 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
