Review: November 30, 2024 Completion: October 29, 2024

I think they could have better communication and better interactions with the homeowners about problem areas. I didn't get a notification that they removed the lean on the house.

★★★★★
Review: February 8, 2022 Completion: December 31, 2021

They could have improved on the communication throughout the project. I did not fell like their cooperate side was effectively communicating with the installation team. It's like one of them did not get the full the message. In the area where we are and as we were about the estimates and etc...they did not recommend getting snow guards for the roof and that was fine but if you have high end gutters that have the mesh screens over the top then those get turned off pretty badly and i think that they should tell people that if they have a gutter guards that might be damaged by the large chunks of snow, then you might want to get guards.

Review: June 3, 2021 Completion: April 30, 2021

The end of the project could be more definitive. I'm still waiting for them to come take pictures of the roof. I don't like the open end of that because they haven't taken the photos yet. We are super happy with the roof. It is gorgeous! We are so excited to have it. My only complaint, is that I want the photos done.

Review: May 17, 2021 Completion: March 2, 2021

I think the work done and end results are great, the process getting there felt rushed and almost locked me into a situation I couldn't financially take care of, thankfully there was a document I kept that proved me in the right and I was able to proceed without further issue. More care/thoroughness when going over details of the paperwork involved.

★★★★★
Review: September 1, 2020 Completion: June 4, 2020

They did exactly what they were supposed to do, there isn't much to improve on.

★★★★★
Review: March 24, 2020 Completion: February 5, 2020

I think better communication at the beginning of the project and let me know when it would start would have made it much better. It would have prevented an issue at the beginning of the project. It is never good to start a project with an issue. I think someone should have notified me ahead of the time when they were coming or when to expect the delivery of material. The crew got here and they had to call for more material and they let me know. The head of the crew was very informative and let us know what was happening. He was very good.

Review: February 8, 2020 Completion: December 14, 2019

The only improvement I would make especially for older homes, is to give home owners information that the roofing install could create a lot of vibration in the walls. If there is anything that could fall it would be good if it is removed before install. None

★★★★★
Review: November 19, 2019 Completion: October 14, 2019

Interlock Roofing could have improved follow through with customer service. We love the roof, and other than the small hiccup with the installation date, everything went well.

★★★★★
Review: October 25, 2019 Completion: September 26, 2019

Interlock Roofing could improve on their initial communication process, and details of the project could be explained in better detail.

★★★★★
Review: October 18, 2019

I ran the numbers and I'm prioritizing this roof system. It costs more but it's worth it.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Campbell Way

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Campbell Way, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Campbell Way.

Why won't an aluminum metal roof rust like steel ones do in wet climates?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it physically cannot rust. Instead, it forms a thin oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath — and when that layer gets scratched, it self-heals. In Kitsap County, where you're averaging about 1280 mm of annual rainfall, that passive protection matters more than most places. We coat both sides of every panel with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Steel roofs require constant vigilance; aluminum just sits there working.

How does a metal roof handle snow and ice buildup during Campbell Way winters?

The four-way interlocking panels lock water out mechanically while the smooth surface sheds snow faster than textured asphalt. You'll see about 33 cm of snow per year here, plus roughly 21 freeze-thaw cycles that crack and curl traditional shingles. Metal panels expand and contract uniformly without creating the micro-gaps where ice dams start. Snow guards are available if you need them, and the lightweight aluminum (Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft) means snow load never stresses your structure the way concrete or clay tile would.

Will a metal roof hold up to Kitsap County's wind gusts?

Your region averages gusts up to 101 km/h, and our panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides — there's no single nail or fastener that can fail and lift a corner. That mechanical grip is why we've installed these roofs from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. Your local gusts fall well within the warranty range.

Does metal roofing stand up to hail, and could it lower my insurance costs?

These panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That kind of durability sometimes qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts; contact your carrier with the UL rating and ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report. Asphalt shingles fail at much smaller impacts. Many insurers recognize that Class 4 metal roofs simply don't generate claims the way traditional roofs do in severe weather.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof, and what does the warranty cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner — it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. When you sell, the next owner inherits a 50-year term from completion. We've been manufacturing these panels since 1998 in Delta, BC; homes installed in our first year are still going strong. The 30-year PVDF coating warranty alone outlasts three asphalt roof cycles in Kitsap's wet climate.

Is a metal roof heavy, or will my house need expensive reinforcement?

No structural work required. The Mediterranean Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft — about 96% lighter than real concrete or clay tile — so it goes over most existing roofs without reinforcement. Compare that to traditional tile, which demands roof reconstruction and foundation stress. In a region with 21 annual freeze-thaw cycles, that matters: lighter loads mean less structural fatigue. Your framing handles the weight of a few adults standing on your roof; that's all you're adding.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing shingles?

Installation timeline depends on roof size and complexity, but we can install directly over your existing asphalt shingles in most cases — no costly tear-off. That means less disruption, faster completion, and no landfill fees. Our crew, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., has served this region since 1997 and knows every roofline in Kitsap County. We handle the permit process and coordinate around your schedule. Call for a site visit and we'll give you a firm timeline.

Will a metal roof help me save on heating and cooling costs in the Pacific Northwest?

Your area gets about 2931 hours of sunshine per year, so reflective properties matter. energy-efficient Interlock colors feature thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 in Aged Copper Penny — that means the roof bounces heat away rather than absorbing it like asphalt does. The Cool Roof Rating Council rates these coatings. In summer, that reflectance reduces air-conditioning load; in Kitsap's mild winters (mean 11.3°C), you're not sacrificing passive solar gain. Real energy savings, measured by the people who set national efficiency standards.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt or cedar?

Far less than asphalt or cedar. Asphalt shingles crack, curl, and lose granules in the 21 freeze-thaw cycles you experience annually. Cedar splits, rots, and needs regular treatment or replacement. Interlock panels shed water, don't absorb it, and the Alunar coating resists the algae and mold that thrive in Pacific Northwest moisture. CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. You're looking at occasional gutter cleaning and maybe checking fasteners after extreme weather — that's it. No re-shingling, no wood treatment, no seal coating every five years.

Is aluminum roofing really better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable; at end of life, your panels go back to the mill, not a landfill. Asphalt shingles tear off, go to the dump, and stay there for centuries. With 1280 mm of annual rain and 33 cm of snow, Kitsap's homes generate significant roofing waste over time. Choosing metal breaks that cycle. These panels have been manufactured since 1998 — that's 25 years of real-world proof that recycled aluminum content and post-consumer reclamation make metal roofing one of the few roofing choices that doesn't create permanent waste.
