Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Wildcat Lake, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |
| Warranty: Lifetime-Limited, non-prorated + 50-year transferable | Lifetime protection + resale value: guarantees long-term material confidence and transfers to future owners. |

What our customers are saying:
Vlad and John are great – caring, kind, courteous, polite – they truly care about the job they do. Give them a raise.
Workmanship exceeded our expectations. They had to do a lot of extra unanticipated work and stayed late into the night to complete it. The crew was great!
We had the Interlock Roof installed in November of 2015 since then we have had some torrential rains and winds exceeding 50 mph. The roof has weathered the storms and is just as sound as the day the workers completed the installation. We are extremely pleased with the roof and the appearance of the roof. We are also very pleased that we chose the Interlock roof, both for the appearance and the wear ability of the product. It is a huge relief for us to know that this is the final roof we will ever have to put on our house and that the product is backed by a lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty. Your roofing specialists that installed the roof were very professional, considerate, and thorough in their work. The property was cleaned and checked when the installation was complete. They promptly addressed any concerns we had and insured we were totally satisfied prior to completing the project. The entire crew deserves a hearty well done.
To Whom It May Concern: We bought our house in 2001. At that time we knew we had about 5-7 years of life left on our composition roof. In October of 2009, my husband and I attended the Home Show held at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and we submitted our name at the Interlock booth to get more information about metal roofs, as we had been thinking about moving in that direction to replace the roof. About two weeks later, we met Ross Peterson. He spent about two hours educating us on roofs and all the different types of roofing materials available, how a large percentage of landfill waste is comprised of discarded roofing materials, and the range of expenses associated with the different kinds of roofs available to homeowners. He was polite, patient, and very knowledgeable. We went into the meeting hoping that the cost of a metal roof would somehow match up with the amount of money we felt we had available to put a new roof on our house. Overall, we determined that the work being done and the length of time we could expect the roof to last would far outweigh the expense in the long run. Especially since a metal roof can last 50 years, but you can expect to put a composition roof on several times in that time-frame. Our materials were delivered in early December and a few days later we met the work crew. They were friendly, considerate, and seemed well trained to complete the job. Unfortunately, we started having extreme weather conditions, like deep freezes one week and heavy rains the following week. Both of those situations caused the job to be delayed, both due to the safety of the crew and to keep the roof conditions as ideal as possible. We are now almost 3 months post install and are quite happy with the end result. We are pleased with our color choice and plan to paint our house this summer with a coordinating color to complement the roof. Thank you Interlock!
“No Worries”, may be an “in” thing to say now days, but for us it is a reality for the next 50 years! This summer, we didn’t worry about the bottle rockets landing on our roof. This fall, we won’t worry about the shingles blowing off in the next 60 plus mile an hour wind. This winter we won’t worry about the snow. And in the spring, we won’t worry about the moss growing on on our roof. If you are thinking you want a roof like ours, no worries about the salesman pressuring into something you don’t want. They were very professional and nice. Everything they promised was delivered exactly as they promised. You will also have no worries when it comes to the installation, as they too were very professional and left the yard just as they had found it. No worries also when it comes to our carbon footprint, as our existing roof is still on our roof and not in a landfill and when the day comes to replace this roof it is recyclable. They really should rename the Interlock Roofing to No Worries Roofing. “No Worries” in Bremerton
We are DELIGHTED with our new roof! The day after it was completed, we had a windstorm. It was so wonderful to wake up knowing there would be no shingles in the yard or loose shingles on the roof. And it is BEAUTIFUL! We see lots of people stopping to gaze at it. Our home truly looks like a cottage now. We cannot thank you enough for the superb product and the exceptional installers. Thanks again.
I have had this roof for almost 7 years, and I am still extremely happy!
To whom it may concern: We recently needed our old asphalt shingle roof replaced as it was damaged and leaking from recent storm damage. Reviewing our options, we decided on metal since we live on the beach. After looking at the different metal roofs available and looking at online reviews we decided on Interlock. We were not disappointed. The process was quick and the timeline discussed initially at purchase was met. The company kept us informed during the entire process. Our roof had an additional issue not seen with most roof replacements, it was covered with solar panels. Interlock coordinated the removal and then the reinstallation with our solar installer. The panels needed removing and then the mounting brackets needed to be reinstalled so as to keep the " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty in force; all went well. I was out of town while some of the roofing was being done, when I returned the roof was completed and all that was needed was the final inspection. I was surprised by the look of the final product, while I had seen pictures the actual product looked much better. The roof looks like “slate” tile, it does not look “metal. We had comments on the roof by neighbors during and after installation and people at work have asked for more information. I highly recommend Interlock Metal Roof to anyone needing a new roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Wildcat Lake
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Wildcat Lake, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Wildcat Lake.
Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Wildcat Lake winters?
Yes—aluminum's light weight and smooth interlocking panels shed snow efficiently without the ice-dam risk that comes with heavier materials. Wildcat Lake averages about 33 cm of snow annually over roughly 16 freeze-thaw days, creating exactly the conditions where metal roofing outperforms. Unlike asphalt or wood shake, the non-porous aluminum surface prevents water infiltration during melt cycles, and the panels' four-way interlock keeps water moving downslope rather than pooling at weak seams.
Will a metal roof rust in the Pacific Northwest rain?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—it's physically impossible. With roughly 1362 mm of annual rainfall in Kitsap County, corrosion resistance matters, but aluminum's invisible oxide layer actually self-heals when scratched. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy per ASTM B209, plus a two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish warranted 30 years against chalking. That two-sided coating is uncommon and specifically protects the underside during heavy, persistent moisture exposure.
Can a metal roof withstand Wildcat Lake wind gusts?
Absolutely. Your region experiences typical gusts around 90 km/h; Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The interlocking design means each panel locks mechanically to its neighbors in four directions, not just nailed at the top like conventional roofing. That redundancy matters during the seasonal wind patterns Kitsap County sees, ensuring the roof moves as one unified system rather than as individual vulnerable shingles or panels.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal roofing?
No structural reinforcement is required—that's one of aluminum's biggest practical advantages. The Interlock Tile profile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft and is roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so it installs directly over most existing roofs. Even the Shake profile runs just 0.58 lb/sq ft. Your home's framing is already built to handle conventional asphalt or wood shake; aluminum actually reduces the load, which can extend your home's structural lifespan while eliminating costly steel reinforcement that traditional premium materials demand.
What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof, and what does the warranty cover?
The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for a 50-year term from completion date, which signals real confidence in durability. Interlock has been manufacturing since 1998 and has installed roofs from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations. In Wildcat Lake's 1362 mm annual rainfall and moderate freeze-thaw cycle, expect performance measured in decades, not years like asphalt.
How does metal roofing handle Wildcat Lake's heavy rainfall without leaking?
The four-way interlocking design and solid deck foundation create a continuous water barrier, not a series of overlapped shingles with seams. Heavy rain—averaging 1362 mm per year in Kitsap County—moves straight down the slope through the mechanical locks rather than being forced sideways by wind or settling into gaps. Proper installation over solid decking with an underlayment means water that does get under the topmost panel is caught and redirected to the gutters. This is the same principle that keeps valleys leak-free: physics, not faith.
Does metal roofing save on heating and cooling costs?
Metal roofing reflects solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt does, which lowers cooling costs even in a climate that averages about 2915 sunshine hours annually. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve up to 0.55 initial solar reflectance and 0.84 thermal emissivity, meaning they shed absorbed heat efficiently. The Cool Roof Rating Council has rated these finishes; compared to a dark asphalt roof that bakes in the sun even in the Pacific Northwest's mild summers, the reflective properties work year-round to reduce the heat load your air conditioning must handle.
Is metal roofing fire-safe, and does it have a fire rating?
Yes. Aluminum is non-combustible, and Interlock metal roofing is available with a Class A fire classification—the highest rating available and required by many insurers and building codes. The material itself cannot burn or contribute to flame spread. Your region is subject to the International Building Code and International Residential Code, both satisfied by Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025). If wildfire risk or fire-prone landscaping is a concern, the non-combustible rating provides real peace of mind that asphalt and wood shake cannot match.
Is metal roofing actually cheaper than asphalt over the roof's lifetime?
When you compare total cost of ownership, yes—Interlock becomes the last roof you buy. Asphalt roofs typically last 15–25 years in climates like Kitsap County's, meaning two or three replacement cycles and repeated tear-off labor and disposal costs. Interlock's non-prorated Guardian warranty, zero rusting, and freeze-thaw resilience mean you install it once. Current financing offers 10% off or no payments and no interest until Spring 2027. The math shifts dramatically when you factor in one installation versus two or three, plus avoided water damage from failed asphalt seams after ten years of 1362 mm annual rainfall.
Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?
Yes. Aluminum is roughly 95% recyclable at end of life, versus asphalt shingles that end up in landfills by the ton. Asphalt's tear-off-and-dispose cycle repeats every 15–25 years; Interlock breaks that cycle. When your roof eventually reaches the end of its life—generations from now, given the warranty and Kitsap County's moderate climate—the aluminum is valuable scrap with genuine market demand. CALGreen verification also recognizes Interlock for reduced maintenance burden. Choosing aluminum means your roofing material doesn't become someone else's environmental problem.
