To whom it may concern: We recently needed our old asphalt shingle roof replaced as it was damaged and leaking from recent storm damage. Reviewing our options, we decided on metal since we live on the beach. After looking at the different metal roofs available and looking at online reviews we decided on Interlock. We were not disappointed. The process was quick and the timeline discussed initially at purchase was met. The company kept us informed during the entire process. Our roof had an additional issue not seen with most roof replacements, it was covered with solar panels. Interlock coordinated the removal and then the reinstallation with our solar installer. The panels needed removing and then the mounting brackets needed to be reinstalled so as to keep the " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty in force; all went well. I was out of town while some of the roofing was being done, when I returned the roof was completed and all that was needed was the final inspection. I was surprised by the look of the final product, while I had seen pictures the actual product looked much better. The roof looks like “slate” tile, it does not look “metal. We had comments on the roof by neighbors during and after installation and people at work have asked for more information. I highly recommend Interlock Metal Roof to anyone needing a new roof.

We had the Interlock Roof installed in November of 2015 since then we have had some torrential rains and winds exceeding 50 mph. The roof has weathered the storms and is just as sound as the day the workers completed the installation. We are extremely pleased with the roof and the appearance of the roof. We are also very pleased that we chose the Interlock roof, both for the appearance and the wear ability of the product. It is a huge relief for us to know that this is the final roof we will ever have to put on our house and that the product is backed by a lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty. Your roofing specialists that installed the roof were very professional, considerate, and thorough in their work. The property was cleaned and checked when the installation was complete. They promptly addressed any concerns we had and insured we were totally satisfied prior to completing the project. The entire crew deserves a hearty well done.

Review: February 11, 2011

To Whom It May Concern: We bought our house in 2001. At that time we knew we had about 5-7 years of life left on our composition roof. In October of 2009, my husband and I attended the Home Show held at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and we submitted our name at the Interlock booth to get more information about metal roofs, as we had been thinking about moving in that direction to replace the roof. About two weeks later, we met Ross Peterson. He spent about two hours educating us on roofs and all the different types of roofing materials available, how a large percentage of landfill waste is comprised of discarded roofing materials, and the range of expenses associated with the different kinds of roofs available to homeowners. He was polite, patient, and very knowledgeable. We went into the meeting hoping that the cost of a metal roof would somehow match up with the amount of money we felt we had available to put a new roof on our house. Overall, we determined that the work being done and the length of time we could expect the roof to last would far outweigh the expense in the long run. Especially since a metal roof can last 50 years, but you can expect to put a composition roof on several times in that time-frame. Our materials were delivered in early December and a few days later we met the work crew. They were friendly, considerate, and seemed well trained to complete the job. Unfortunately, we started having extreme weather conditions, like deep freezes one week and heavy rains the following week. Both of those situations caused the job to be delayed, both due to the safety of the crew and to keep the roof conditions as ideal as possible. We are now almost 3 months post install and are quite happy with the end result. We are pleased with our color choice and plan to paint our house this summer with a coordinating color to complement the roof. Thank you Interlock!

“No Worries”, may be an “in” thing to say now days, but for us it is a reality for the next 50 years! This summer, we didn’t worry about the bottle rockets landing on our roof. This fall, we won’t worry about the shingles blowing off in the next 60 plus mile an hour wind. This winter we won’t worry about the snow. And in the spring, we won’t worry about the moss growing on on our roof. If you are thinking you want a roof like ours, no worries about the salesman pressuring into something you don’t want. They were very professional and nice. Everything they promised was delivered exactly as they promised. You will also have no worries when it comes to the installation, as they too were very professional and left the yard just as they had found it. No worries also when it comes to our carbon footprint, as our existing roof is still on our roof and not in a landfill and when the day comes to replace this roof it is recyclable. They really should rename the Interlock Roofing to No Worries Roofing. “No Worries” in Bremerton

We are DELIGHTED with our new roof! The day after it was completed, we had a windstorm. It was so wonderful to wake up knowing there would be no shingles in the yard or loose shingles on the roof. And it is BEAUTIFUL! We see lots of people stopping to gaze at it. Our home truly looks like a cottage now. We cannot thank you enough for the superb product and the exceptional installers. Thanks again.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Seabeck

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Seabeck, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Seabeck.

Does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice in Seabeck winters?

Yes—aluminum's light weight and smooth surface actually excel in snow climates. Seabeck averages about 33 cm of snow annually with roughly 16 freeze-thaw cycles per year, which can damage asphalt and wood shingles through repeated expansion and contraction. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels (warranted to 120 mph wind) remain rigid through those stress cycles, and the slick profile sheds ice naturally without the pooling that leads to ice dams. You can add snow guards to any profile if you prefer controlled slides.

Why should I choose aluminum roofing instead of steel in a coastal climate?

Steel rusts because it contains iron; aluminum cannot rust at all. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), which forms a self-healing oxide layer even when scratched. To further protect against Kitsap County's salt-air exposure, both sides of every panel receive Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish—a safeguard steel roofs simply don't get. The 30-year coating warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244) covers chalking and fading, meaning your roof resists corrosion from marine air for decades without degradation.

How does a metal roof stay leak-free with Seabeck's high rainfall?

Seabeck receives about 1,362 mm of rain annually—well above the US average—so leak protection matters. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels create a mechanical lock that sheds water downward across all four edges; rainwater cannot migrate sideways through the seams. Installation over solid decking with ASTM-rated underlayment (built to code per ESR-1790) means water runs off or drains away before it reaches the structure. Thousands of installations from coastal Pacific Northwest homes to Antarctica confirm this design stops leaks in the heaviest, windiest rainfall on Earth.

Are metal roofs secure in Seabeck's gusty Pacific Northwest weather?

Seabeck experiences typical gusts around 90 km/h with mean winds of 16 km/h—conditions that stress conventional shingles. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to withstand 120 mph (193 km/h) winds when installed to specification. Each panel locks mechanically to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire assembly rather than relying on fasteners alone. The system has been field-proven since 1998 in exposed coastal locations worldwide, resisting storms that tear asphalt and wood shingles away.

Can my house support a metal roof, or do I need expensive structural work?

Aluminum's extraordinary light weight means no reinforcement needed. The Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, and the Mediterranean Tile—which replicates 96% heavier concrete or clay tile—still weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft. Most existing roofs can carry this load without modification. For comparison, standard asphalt shingles typically weigh 2–4 lb/sq ft. This light weight also lets Interlock install over most existing roofing, eliminating costly tear-off and landfill fees while cutting installation time and labor expense.

What warranty comes with a metal roof, and how long will it really last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no deductible. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of protection from the completion date. Interlock has manufactured since 1998 and installed roofs spanning from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, all still performing. Combined with the 30-year coating warranty on both panel sides, this is genuinely the last roof you'll buy for your home.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over a 50-year horizon, metal roofing costs far less. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years in Seabeck's 1,362 mm annual rainfall and 16 freeze-thaw cycles—meaning 2–3 replacements, each with tear-off, disposal, and installation labor. Interlock's lifetime warranty and transferable 50-year term eliminate those cycles entirely. Current financing—no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—front-loads value. The lighter weight also cuts labor time. Across labor, materials, landfill fees, and hassle, one aluminum roof outpaces multiple asphalt replacements financially and environmentally.

Do metal roofs reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes, when you choose energy-efficient colors. Interlock offers reflective options with solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning the roof reflects heat that dark asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. Seabeck averages 2,915 sunshine hours per year, so summer heat gain is real. The Cool Roof Rating Council certifies these colors. In summer months, reflective aluminum roofing can reduce attic temperature by 20–30°F compared to asphalt, lowering air-conditioning load if you cool your home. This also extends the life of roof components and ventilation systems.

Is metal roofing fire-safe, and does it meet building codes?

Interlock achieves Class A fire rating (the highest available) because aluminum is non-combustible—it will not ignite or spread flame. The roof carries ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC compliance) and is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance and fire safety. In Kitsap County, where wildfire risk and building code compliance both matter, a Class A non-combustible roof can also lower homeowners insurance premiums and satisfy strict local fire ordinances. Unlike asphalt shingles or wood shake, aluminum poses zero ignition risk to your home or property.

Who installs Interlock metal roofs in the Seabeck area?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and is the authorized local installer for Seabeck and Kitsap County. They maintain expertise in all five Interlock profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—and understand Pacific Northwest weather, rain load, wind exposure, and local building codes. The company currently offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. Direct contact with your regional installer ensures proper specification, installation to ESR-1790 code, and warranty registration.
