Review: February 14, 2024Completion: February 1, 2024

On the first night, I heard some weird dripping noises in the walls. I emailed a video to the sales guys because I didn't have anyone else's email. I never heard back. The leak when it occurred was in a different part of the house, so I guess it's just fine, but it would a have been nice to know if it was leaking inside the walls or something. It's nerve wracking replacing a roof in this climate at this time of year, and I would have been happy to wait for better weather. Good product, good people

Review: February 19, 2020Completion: February 19, 2020

It's been about 6 weeks since our new roof was completed, and we are thrilled with the result. The whole process from start to finish was seamless and very efficient. As a salesperson myself, I was impressed with the 'no pressure' approach to selling us the roof and the information that was provided to us to make an informed decision on the type of roof for our home. We chose the black slate and it looks very smart and has transformed the look of our home considerably. Since the roof was installed, we have had the usual mixed bag of Washington weather - heavy rain, hail, strong winds, and frost. Our roof has been put to the test and passed with flying colors. Frank observed the installation process and was impressed with the seamless flashing, custom-made on site, and state of the art vent coverings. Our roof looks beautiful and stands out from the others in our neighborhood. We were particularly impressed with the workmanship of Victor and Mark Lomakin, the two men who installed the roof. They were punctual, fast, courteous, respectful, efficient and very professional. Our neighbors also commented on how well they worked. When the roof was complete, they cleared away all debris and even removed the unwanted satellite dish from our roof. It couldn't have gone better. We received all the financial documentation in a timely manner and all of the employees we have dealt with have been very knowledgeable and helpful. Our only criticism is that it would be nice to have an online payment facility for overpayments. Currently the only way to do that is to mail a payment to Canada but we don't have checks so we would have to purchase money orders and mail them as we intend to make over-payments along the way. We would happily recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof. Kind regards Jennifer and Frank Herboldsheimer Ocean Shores, WA

Review: March 8, 2018Completion: February 24, 2018

I will not recommend, but I will give the the option of Interlock Roofing to other people needing a roof. I think Interlock Roofing could improve on cooperating with the customer more for delivering materials and the start time. The original time frame was 3-4 days. It took over a week to get the project done because of weather. They could improve their issue with communication with the installers. Not all of the installers spoke English. If I had to do it over again, then I would not.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Copalis Beach

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Copalis Beach, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Copalis Beach.

Does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice in Copalis Beach winters?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and smooth profiles shed snow and ice reliably, even with Grays Harbor County's average 60 cm of snow annually and 38 freeze-thaw cycles per year. The lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed, and the standing seam and shake profiles are engineered to prevent ice dam formation. Optional snow guards can be installed if you want to manage roof runoff during thaw events.

Why is aluminum better than steel roofing in coastal salt air?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, it forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects the underlying metal even when scratched—critical in Copalis Beach's salt-laden marine environment. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) coated on both sides with Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Steel, by contrast, oxidizes continuously and requires ongoing maintenance in this climate.

Can Interlock metal roofing withstand Copalis Beach's coastal wind gusts?

Absolutely. The four-way interlocking panel system is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—well above Grays Harbor County's typical gust speeds around 106 km/h. The mechanical interlocks between adjacent panels prevent uplift and panel separation, and the design distributes wind load across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone. This is particularly valuable in a region where wind gusts are frequent and seasonal.

How does metal roofing perform in heavy rain?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and multiple standing seams overlap and seal water away from your home, making them highly effective for Copalis Beach's 2305 mm of annual rainfall—roughly double the U.S. average. The mechanical interlocks and profile geometry create natural drainage channels that shed water quickly, and when installed over a solid deck with appropriate underlayment, they perform identically to asphalt in heavy rain. The sealed joints eliminate the common gutter failure points that plague traditional shingles.

What warranty covers Interlock Metal Roofing, and how long does it last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion. This means your roof is protected for the entire time you own your home, and your buyer receives substantial remaining warranty value, making Interlock a genuine last-roof-you-buy investment in a region with 2789 sunshine hours and 38 freeze-thaw cycles annually that stress traditional materials.

Does Interlock metal roofing have impact resistance, and could it lower my insurance?

Yes. Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and is warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Copalis Beach itself experiences moderate hail risk, the proof of impact resistance sometimes qualifies homeowners for insurance premium discounts with carriers that recognize metal roofing's durability. Contact your agent to confirm eligibility. The aluminum's hardness and the panel's structural design mean hail damage that would crack or puncture asphalt or traditional tile simply doesn't occur.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

When you calculate total cost of ownership over 50+ years, metal roofing becomes the lower-cost choice. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years, and with Copalis Beach's 2305 mm annual rainfall and 38 freeze-thaw cycles, degradation accelerates. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty and non-prorated coverage eliminate replacement and major repair costs for the original owner. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—making the transition affordable while you avoid three or four asphalt tear-offs and landfill cycles over your home's life.

Can my existing roof structure support metal roofing, or do I need reinforcement?

Most homes need no reinforcement. Interlock Slate installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58, and Mediterranean Tile at 0.59—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This extraordinary lightness allows installation directly over existing asphalt or wood shingles without structural upgrades, saving thousands on framing work. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has installed thousands of roofs across the Pacific Northwest since 1997—our local team assesses your structure during the consultation and confirms whether an overlay install is feasible for your home.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Interlock metal roofing is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance and requires virtually none. Asphalt shingles need regular cleaning and algae treatment; wood shakes require annual inspection, moss removal, and eventual rot repair—especially with Copalis Beach's 2305 mm annual rainfall. Interlock's aluminum and Alunar® coating resist algae, mold, and weathering naturally. Rinse debris occasionally and check gutters seasonally. The 30-year coating warranty (ASTM D4214 / D2244) means no repainting or re-coating, and the non-corroding substrate eliminates the hidden decay problems that plague other materials in this wet climate.

Does metal roofing come in traditional looks, or does it look industrial?

Interlock offers five authentic profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—so your home's architectural style is preserved exactly as you want it. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels replicate the texture, shadow lines, and proportions of genuine materials without the maintenance, weight, or cost. Manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, and installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, each profile performs identically in durability while giving you curb appeal that matches your home's character.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Copalis Beach’s climate?

Yes. Copalis Beach averages about 60 cm of snow, 2305 mm of rain, roughly 38 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 106 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
