What our customers are saying:

★★★★★
Review: February 19, 2020

It's been about 6 weeks since our new roof was completed, and we are thrilled with the result. The whole process from start to finish was seamless and very efficient. As a salesperson myself, I was impressed with the 'no pressure' approach to selling us the roof and the information that was provided to us to make an informed decision on the type of roof for our home. We chose the black slate and it looks very smart and has transformed the look of our home considerably. Since the roof was installed, we have had the usual mixed bag of Washington weather - heavy rain, hail, strong winds, and frost. Our roof has been put to the test and passed with flying colors. Frank observed the installation process and was impressed with the seamless flashing, custom-made on site, and state of the art vent coverings. Our roof looks beautiful and stands out from the others in our neighborhood. We were particularly impressed with the workmanship of Victor and Mark Lomakin, the two men who installed the roof. They were punctual, fast, courteous, respectful, efficient and very professional. Our neighbors also commented on how well they worked. When the roof was complete, they cleared away all debris and even removed the unwanted satellite dish from our roof. It couldn't have gone better. We received all the financial documentation in a timely manner and all of the employees we have dealt with have been very knowledgeable and helpful. Our only criticism is that it would be nice to have an online payment facility for overpayments. Currently the only way to do that is to mail a payment to Canada but we don't have checks so we would have to purchase money orders and mail them as we intend to make over-payments along the way. We would happily recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof. Kind regards Jennifer and Frank Herboldsheimer Ocean Shores, WA

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Moclips

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Moclips, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Moclips.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice in Moclips winters?

Interlock metal roofing sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because its smooth, interlocking aluminum surface prevents moisture from being trapped where freeze-thaw cycles occur—Moclips sees about 38 freeze-thaw days per year and roughly 60 cm of snow. The four-way interlocking panels create a unified structure that resists the stress of accumulated snow load. Aluminum's light weight (the Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means your home's structure never bears the burden that slate or clay tile would, yet the panels are engineered to code under IBC/IRC standards (ESR-1790). Optional snow guards can be added to control water runoff if desired, and the aluminum oxide layer won't corrode from winter salt spray common along Grays Harbor County's coastal climate.

Why is aluminum the right choice for a coastal roofing material near Moclips?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal and repairs itself when scratched—a major advantage in salt-air environments near Grays Harbor County. Over 27 years, Interlock has installed thousands of roofs from coastal homes to an Antarctic research station without rust failure. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides) adds 30-year protection against coastal degradation measured to ASTM D4214 and D2244 standards. Moclips receives about 106 km/h wind gusts that can accelerate corrosion in ferrous metals; aluminum simply oxidizes without weakening. Steel roofing, by contrast, requires ongoing maintenance and eventually fails in salt spray. This material choice eliminates that entire class of failure.

Does a metal roof hold up to hail, and can it lower my insurance costs?

Interlock metal roofing earns UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum construction often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts; contact your agent with the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report and UL 2218 Class 4 certification. Moclips averages mild winters with roughly 60 cm of snow and winds gusting to 106 km/h, making hail less frequent than in mountain regions, but the Class 4 rating protects you in any weather event. The lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means impact energy is absorbed efficiently across the interlocking structure without failure. Many homeowners recoup installation costs through insurance savings over the first decade.

Will a metal roof blow off in Moclips's windstorms?

The four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Moclips's typical gusts reach about 106 km/h, well below this threshold, yet the interlocking design still provides an engineered safety margin. Each panel locks on all four sides—top, bottom, left, and right—creating a unified membrane rather than individual shingles that can lift. The lightweight aluminum (the Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft) won't create the bending moment that heavy tile or slate generates, reducing stress on fasteners and the deck below. Proper installation by Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., serving since 1997, ensures fastener placement and spacing meet the 120 mph warranty standard, giving you confidence through Grays Harbor County's winter blow-through season.

Does my house need reinforcement to support a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is required because aluminum is extraordinarily light. The Mediterranean Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—allowing installation directly over most existing roof structures without engineering modification. Moclips homes built to withstand roughly 60 cm of annual snow and wind gusts to 106 km/h are already designed for loads far exceeding what Interlock panels impose. Traditional tile or slate would require costly beam reinforcement; this metal roofing system eliminates that expense entirely. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels distribute weight evenly across the deck, and installation can proceed over existing roofing, saving tear-off costs and structural stress. This weight advantage alone often justifies the material choice when comparing total project cost.

Is a metal roof worth the cost compared to asphalt shingles?

The lifetime limited, non-prorated Guardian Warranty and 50-year transfer term make this the last roof most homeowners buy, eliminating the cycle of replacement every 15–25 years that asphalt requires in Moclips's wet, freeze-thaw climate (38 freeze-thaw days annually). Asphalt degrades faster under 2305 mm of annual rainfall and constant moisture. Over 50 years, asphalt tear-offs consume landfill space and require disposal costs; aluminum is ~95% recyclable, avoiding that burden. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, reducing upfront cost. Resale value typically recovers 60–85% of metal roofing investment, whereas asphalt adds minimal appeal. The coating warranty lasts 30 years against fading and chalking (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured), so your roof maintains appearance while protecting the structure indefinitely.

What does the warranty actually cover if something goes wrong?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, protecting buyers even if you sell. This breadth—rust, rot, split, crack, curl, impact—addresses every failure mode in Moclips's wet Pacific Northwest climate with its 2305 mm rainfall and harsh salt air. The 30-year coating warranty separately guarantees the Alunar 70% PVDF finish against chalking and fading (measured to ASTM D4214 and D2244 standards), so color and protection outlast most other roofing materials by decades. Wind warranty to 120 mph and hail coverage to 1.5-inch stone rounds out the protection. No other roofing material—asphalt, wood, or traditional tile—offers comparable transferable coverage.

How much upkeep does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Interlock metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance—no re-sealing, no replacing individual shingles, no clearing algae or moss. Asphalt shingles in Moclips's wet 2305 mm rainfall climate need frequent inspection and patching; wood shakes split and rot faster under 38 freeze-thaw cycles per year. Aluminum simply does not corrode, split, or curl, and the ICC-ES ESR-1790 code evaluation confirms it meets CALGreen standards for reduced maintenance. Quarterly gutter cleaning is prudent (as with any roof), and debris removal prevents standing water—standard practice for any material. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against fading, requires no recoating or sealant renewal. Most owners in coastal regions report that inspections every few years reveal no wear. This near-zero maintenance makes the lifetime Guardian Warranty practical and meaningful in ways asphalt and wood cannot match.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Moclips, and how fast can they start?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. serves Moclips and Grays Harbor County since 1997, bringing 27+ years of regional experience installing these roofs in exactly your coastal, wet climate. Current promotions offer no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, making this an ideal time to lock in a price. Installation typically completes in 2–5 days depending on roof size and complexity, often working over existing roofing without costly tear-off. The lightweight aluminum panels (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) speed installation and reduce structural strain during the work. Moclips's wet season averaging about 2305 mm annual rainfall and gusts to 106 km/h means you benefit from a local installer who understands regional weather windows and can schedule efficiently. Contact Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. directly for a site visit and timeline estimate tailored to your home.

Is a metal roof fire-safe for my Moclips home?

Interlock metal roofing is non-combustible aluminum (no organic materials to burn) and available in Class A fire rating—the highest classification—making it inherently fire-safe. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report confirms code compliance under IBC/IRC standards for non-combustible construction. This advantage matters beyond wildfire risk; Class A rating often qualifies for homeowner insurance discounts and meets stricter building codes in fire-prone regions. Moclips's maritime climate with 2305 mm rainfall and 2789 annual sunshine hours creates low wildfire risk locally, but non-combustible roofing adds safety for any home and supports your insurer's risk assessment. Aluminum cannot smolder, release toxic fumes, or contribute to fire spread—unlike wood shakes or fiberglass-based asphalt shingles. If fire safety is a priority (or your insurer incentivizes it), Class A metal roofing delivers peace of mind that combustible materials cannot.
