| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
Thanks for a very positive roofing experience! Our new roof is so beautiful we’re thinking of charging a fee to all the gawking neighbors that stop by to admire it!!! This was fun, positive experience from start to finish. Our sales rep spent three hours at our home going over every possible detail with us. He was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our questions. As you can see by the pictures we have a pretty basic roof. There was no tear off to do; still, our three installers were 80% done on the very first day! Everything was done and cleaned up to our satisfaction by the end of day two. Our installers were friendly, courteous and hard working. I watched them for a few minutes as they all worked like a finely tuned machine installing our roof in perfect rhythm. For us, Interlock meant that the third time was the charm. We’d tried to do business with two other companies. The first took a large amount of money as a down payment and gave absolutely no customer service for two months. We got our money back and started over. The second company gave an inaccurate bid. Needless to say, we entered into this contract with some trepidation. interlock is a fabulous company and we’d recommend them to anyone in the market for a new roof!
We are writing this letter to show our appreciation for the wonderful job that was done on our roof. From the date your company representative met with us in our home to the date of completion, words cannot express how completely satisfied we are with your company. We definitely wanted a quality roof and were very impressed by the representation that was given to us. The product you provide was enough for us to make our decision, however it was a huge plus not to have to deal with a pushy salesman and to have such polite, friendly and hard working men providing the service. It was a pleasure to have them around our home. The quality, craftsmanship and lifetime warranty of this roof far outweighs the increased costs over other roof systems. However, other roof systems don't come with lifetime warranties and many only last for 8 to 10 years. We may have paid a little more initially, but how wonderful it is to know we will never have to re-roof our home again. And in addition to all of the above, it looks so beautiful and has added so much style to our home. I never dreamed a roof could make such a difference. Again, Thank you so much and be sure to know we will highly recommend your company to all of our family and friends.
I am very pleased with the entire experience with Interlock Roofing. Ross did a fantastic job of showing me all of the options available, and explaining how Interlock is different from other roofing. This was not a hard sales pitch. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable a metal roof was. I had five other estimates for a traditional composite roof, and the price difference for a forever roof was negligible considering all the benefits. Next, the installation. These guys were amazing! Only two guys doing the demo and reroof, but very hard workers and did a fantastic job. It seems rare these days to find skilled tradesmen that take pride in their work, and these guys exceeded my expectations. I also took advantage of Interlock’s financing. Drew was very helpful and accommodating. The whole process was taken care of through Interlock, making it super convenient and great communication throughout. I will highly recommend:)
We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks. Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job. We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.
I have already recommended them. Those guys were amazing. Peter, Victor, and the other installation guys were just unbelievable. It is a great company, and they did a great job with my roof. I get compliments all the time. It was a wonderful experience. They did a wonderful job on the house. It looks fantastic.
Interlock Roofing is amazing. From the first day I met their salesman to the day they started work on our barn and house. They were very easy to talk to and express our concern about how important it was to keep our hay safe from rain and the ground around the barn safe for the animals. They were fast exceptionally clean and so much fun to get to know. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have a roof that will last a life time. Thank you for an amazing job and two beautiful roofs!
My wife and I want to express our complete satisfaction with the "Aged Copper" roof your firm installed on our "Barn-house" and gazebo. The two roofs have a high quality appearance and they enhance the looks of the property. We are looking forward to many years of satisfaction. We are now planning to re-paint the house with a color to better blend with the roof. The work performed by your installers was outstanding. They were friendly and very professional. They worked efficiently and energetically, and it was obvious they had the skills to do the job. Thank you for being such an excellent firm.
My husband and I would like to thank you for coming to our residence and explaining your product and all of its advantages. We were very impressed at this time and excited to start the beautification process of our home, which has been in my husband’s family for 5 generations now. It has undergone many remodels, upgrades, and changes throughout the years with a lot of help from friends and family. We will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year. The new roof is definitely a wonderful way to do so! The whole Interlock family was friendly and extremely easy to work with from the beginning of this process to the end. The job was started on time and finished when promised. We are very pleased with how smoothly the project went and very thankful that we were not the ones on top of the house!
HELLO! I am Gerry from Olympia, Washington. A few years ago, I had my re-roofing done by INTERLOCK ROOFING SYSTEM for my house here in Olympia. I would like to thank the INTERLOCK ROOFING SYSTEM for the best, beautiful metal roof I ever had; the color choice never changed in spite of the weather condition here in Washington. So, if you want your home to deserving a thorough, keen, professional touch, quality, and professionalism, I would highly recommend INTERLOCK LIFETIME ROOFING SYSTEMS for your COMPLETE METAL ROOFING.
We both work for Nordstrom and have come to expect a certain level of customer service. Both Paul and Ross were exceptional in this regard. They were knowledgeable friendly and very thorough! I would highly recommend interlock for anyone looking into metal roof options.
The roof is absolutely beautiful and compliments our home. The work was fast and professional. Communication about scheduling. Clean up of job site. We absolutely love the roof.
We were extremely pleased with Interlock Roofing as our selection to install an aluminum roof on our house and two outbuildings. The installation team were extremely hard workers and were always courteous and conscientious and left our project very clean. We would highly recommend all of them to anyone interested in a new roof including Paul Wright and the administration staff. Ron and Joanne Quiring nothing

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Taholah
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Taholah, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Taholah.
How does a metal roof handle Taholah's heavy snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents adhesion—critical in a region that averages about 57 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 29 freeze-thaw cycles per year. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels won't crack or curl under the weight and thermal stress that damages conventional shingles. You can add snow guards if desired, but the light weight of aluminum (the Shake profile weighs just 0.58 lb per square foot) means your home's structure handles the seasonal load without reinforcement, unlike slate or concrete tile.
Will a metal roof handle Taholah's 2,400+ mm of annual rainfall without leaking?
Yes—the four-way interlocking design creates overlapped seams that shed water as rapidly as it falls, and the system has been code-compliant under ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 for over two decades. Taholah receives approximately 2,414 mm of rain yearly, and the geometry of Interlock's profiles (Slate, Shake, Cedar Shingle, Tile, Standing Seam) all channel water downward and outward. When installed to specification by a certified installer over a solid deck and underlayment, the panels eliminate the pooling and saturation issues that compromise asphalt shingles in persistent wet climates.
Why should I choose aluminum over steel roofing in a wet, salt-air climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—that's the core material advantage in a coastal region. Taholah's location exposes homes to salt air and high humidity (the area records about 2,870 annual sunshine hours offset by frequent marine moisture), conditions that accelerate corrosion in steel. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy per ASTM B209, finished on both sides with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. When the oxide layer is scratched, it self-heals—a self-protecting chemistry that steel roofing cannot match.
Can a metal roof stand up to Taholah's coastal wind gusts?
Absolutely. Taholah's typical wind gusts reach about 127 km/h (roughly 79 mph), and Interlock's panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors, creating a unified structure that distributes wind load across the entire roof assembly rather than relying on fasteners alone. This engineering prevents the uplift and flutter that loosen conventional shingles in coastal squalls, and the lightweight aluminum (about 96% lighter than concrete tile) means less inertial force trying to tear the roof away.
Does a metal roof reduce hail damage risk and insurance costs?
Metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and Interlock's warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Taholah's climate data doesn't indicate frequent severe hail, the exceptional impact resistance qualifies for favorable insurance assessments in many carriers' underwriting guidelines. Aluminum's inherent hardness and the rigid panel interlocking prevent the shingle separation and punctures that trigger expensive claims on asphalt roofs. You should contact your insurer to confirm applicable premium reductions for your specific property.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Over the roof's full service life, metal wins decisively. Asphalt typically lasts 15–25 years and requires tear-off, landfill disposal, and reinstallation—repeating that cycle two or three times across a 50-year homeownership span. Interlock's lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty covers the original owner outright, and the transferable warranty extends 50 years to the next owner, eliminating mid-life replacement costs. In Taholah's demanding climate—2,414 mm rain, 29 annual freeze-thaw days, coastal salt air—asphalt's vulnerability to moisture intrusion, UV degradation, and thermal cycling shortens its lifespan further. The current regional promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, reducing the financial barrier.
Can a metal roof lower my cooling costs?
Yes, if you select an energy-efficient color. Interlock offers profiles in reflective finishes rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance as high as 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny). In Taholah, where mean annual temperature is 10.2°C and you're unlikely to run intensive air conditioning, the benefit is modest—but every degree of roof-surface cooling reduces heat transmission into your attic and living spaces during the 2,870 annual sunshine hours. Metal's ability to reflect rather than absorb infrared radiation outperforms asphalt across all climates, and the energy-efficiency designation documents that performance to a third-party standard.
How much upkeep does a metal roof really need?
Significantly less than asphalt, wood shake, or tile. Asphalt shingles require regular inspection for moss, algae, and missing granules; wood shakes split and rot in Taholah's 57 cm annual snowfall and 2,414 mm rainfall; tile cracks from freeze-thaw cycles. Aluminum's smooth, non-organic surface resists moss and algae growth, won't rot or split, and the Alunar 70% PVDF finish is warrantied 30 years against chalking and fading. Routine maintenance means occasional gutter cleaning and maybe a light rinse after salt-air exposure. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance obligations compared to conventional roofing, translating to lower long-term labor costs and zero unexpected repairs.
What's the warranty, and does it really last a lifetime?
The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner—meaning there's no deductible, no percentage reduction in coverage over time—and it's transferable once to the next owner for a 50-year term from completion. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. This structure acknowledges that in Taholah's climate of heavy rainfall, snow, freeze-thaw stress, and salt air, homeowners need absolute certainty. You won't face the declining-value coverage or age-based exclusions that weaken asphalt-shingle warranties. A 50-year transfer term also strengthens your home's resale appeal and protects the next buyer.
How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?
Installation timeline depends on your roof's complexity and weather, but Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has been serving the region since 1997 and can give you a precise schedule during the assessment. One major advantage: because aluminum panels weigh only 0.41–0.59 lb per square foot (depending on profile), you can install over most existing asphalt or wood-shake roofs without structural reinforcement. That eliminates the tear-off labor, landfill disposal fees, and extended downtime of a full replacement. The installer removes only damaged or incompatible sheathing, installs underlayment, and fastens the interlocking panels—a cleaner, faster process that keeps your home more weatherproof during the work.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Taholah’s climate?
Yes. Taholah averages about 57 cm of snow, 2414 mm of rain, roughly 29 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 127 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
