Review: August 1, 2017

To whom it may concern: We recently needed our old asphalt shingle roof replaced as it was damaged and leaking from recent storm damage. Reviewing our options, we decided on metal since we live on the beach. After looking at the different metal roofs available and looking at online reviews we decided on Interlock. We were not disappointed. The process was quick and the timeline discussed initially at purchase was met. The company kept us informed during the entire process. Our roof had an additional issue not seen with most roof replacements, it was covered with solar panels. Interlock coordinated the removal and then the reinstallation with our solar installer. The panels needed removing and then the mounting brackets needed to be reinstalled so as to keep the " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty in force; all went well. I was out of town while some of the roofing was being done, when I returned the roof was completed and all that was needed was the final inspection. I was surprised by the look of the final product, while I had seen pictures the actual product looked much better. The roof looks like “slate” tile, it does not look “metal. We had comments on the roof by neighbors during and after installation and people at work have asked for more information. I highly recommend Interlock Metal Roof to anyone needing a new roof.

We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!

My wife and I want to express our complete satisfaction with the "Aged " title="Copper Roofing" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="2680">Copper" roof your firm installed on our "Barn-house" and gazebo. The two roofs have a high quality appearance and they enhance the looks of the property. We are looking forward to many years of satisfaction. We are now planning to re-paint the house with a color to better blend with the roof. The work performed by your installers was outstanding. They were friendly and very professional. They worked efficiently and energetically, and it was obvious they had the skills to do the job. Thank you for being such an excellent firm.

Workmanship exceeded our expectations. They had to do a lot of extra unanticipated work and stayed late into the night to complete it. The crew was great!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Indianola

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Indianola, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Indianola.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like cedar shake or slate in Indianola?

Yes. Interlock offers five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam—each stamped and colored to match traditional materials. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels install identically regardless of style, so your choice is purely aesthetic. All profiles carry the same 30-year coating warranty, Class 4 hail rating, and 120 mph wind resistance. Choose based on your home's character; the durability underneath never changes.

Is a metal roof worth the cost over asphalt in the long run?

Metal roofing costs more upfront but ends the re-roofing cycle. Asphalt lasts 15–20 years and requires tear-off labor and landfill fees; Interlock is warranted for life under The Guardian. Kitsap County receives about 1280 mm of rain annually—metal sheds it instantly without deterioration. Over 50 years, a single Interlock installation (transferable to the next owner) typically costs less than three asphalt replacements plus disposal. Current financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027.

What's the warranty on Interlock metal roofing, and does it transfer if I sell?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner—covering rusting, rot, splits, cracks, curling, and impact loss. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion date. No other roof lasts long enough for a multi-generational claim. Indianola's 21 annual freeze–thaw days stress traditional materials; aluminum oxide self-heals, so the warranty protection stays intact decade after decade.

Why can't aluminum metal roofs rust like steel ones?

Aluminum contains no iron—iron is what rusts. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both sides. When scratched, the aluminum oxide layer self-heals automatically. Kitsap County's 1280 mm annual rainfall and occasional salt air don't corrode aluminum; they corrode steel. This dual-side coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214) is why coastal Antarctic research stations use Interlock—salt and moisture are no threat.

Is a metal roof fire-safe for a wood-frame home?

Interlock aluminum is non-combustible and qualifies for Class A fire classification—the highest rating available. The material itself cannot ignite. ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC code compliance) confirms this. If wildfire risk or insurance credits matter, Interlock's non-combustible aluminum eliminates the liability that wood shingles or asphalt carry. Your home's frame is protected by a roof that won't feed flames.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need in Indianola's rainy climate?

Virtually none. Asphalt deteriorates from Kitsap County's 1280 mm rain and algae growth; wood shake splits and rots; tile cracks in freeze–thaw cycles. Aluminum doesn't degrade from moisture. Interlock panels shed water instantly and resist the 21 annual freeze–thaw days without cracking or curling. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance. A rinse every few years removes debris; no repairs, sealant replacement, or protective treatments required over the roof's life.

Will a metal roof help me sell my house in Indianola?

Metal roofs increase curb appeal and signal durability to buyers—a permanent, transferable warranty and Class 4 hail protection are compelling selling points in a region averaging ~101 km/h wind gusts. Buyers recognize that they're installing the last roof the home will need. The five architectural profiles (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, Standing Seam) suit traditional and modern designs. Kitsap County's active real estate market favors long-term value; a 50-year transferable warranty demonstrates that.

Can a metal roof be installed over my existing asphalt roof without removal?

Yes. Interlock's extreme light weight—about 0.41 lb/sq ft for Shingle profile, 0.59 for Tile—means no structural reinforcement is needed even on older homes. The Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so it installs over most existing roofs. Installation is faster without tear-off labor, saving time and mess. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served this region since 1997 and handles existing-roof overlay installs routinely. Current promotion includes financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable; at end of life, the entire roof becomes raw material for new products. Asphalt requires tear-off labor and landfill disposal—a cycle repeated every 15–20 years. Over Indianola's typical home ownership span, you'd landfill 2–3 asphalt roofs while Interlock generates zero waste. Manufacturing Interlock in Delta, BC since 1998 uses recycled content and avoids the environmental cost of repeated tear-offs and replacements.

Can a metal roof handle Indianola's wind gusts and storms?

Yes. Kitsap County's typical gusts reach 101 km/h; Interlock is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. Four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together mechanically—no nails or fasteners alone bear the load. UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating (the highest available) applies to hail up to 1.5 inches, and the same structural integrity handles lateral wind stress. About 2931 sunshine hours annually mean your roof faces wind for 21 freeze–thaw days and sustained storm pressure; it's engineered for that.
