We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!

My wife and I want to express our complete satisfaction with the "Aged " title="Copper Roofing" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="2680">Copper" roof your firm installed on our "Barn-house" and gazebo. The two roofs have a high quality appearance and they enhance the looks of the property. We are looking forward to many years of satisfaction. We are now planning to re-paint the house with a color to better blend with the roof. The work performed by your installers was outstanding. They were friendly and very professional. They worked efficiently and energetically, and it was obvious they had the skills to do the job. Thank you for being such an excellent firm.

Review: February 19, 2016

We had the Interlock Roof installed in November of 2015 since then we have had some torrential rains and winds exceeding 50 mph. The roof has weathered the storms and is just as sound as the day the workers completed the installation. We are extremely pleased with the roof and the appearance of the roof. We are also very pleased that we chose the Interlock roof, both for the appearance and the wear ability of the product. It is a huge relief for us to know that this is the final roof we will ever have to put on our house and that the product is backed by a lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty. Your roofing specialists that installed the roof were very professional, considerate, and thorough in their work. The property was cleaned and checked when the installation was complete. They promptly addressed any concerns we had and insured we were totally satisfied prior to completing the project. The entire crew deserves a hearty well done.

Review: February 11, 2011

To Whom It May Concern: We bought our house in 2001. At that time we knew we had about 5-7 years of life left on our composition roof. In October of 2009, my husband and I attended the Home Show held at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and we submitted our name at the Interlock booth to get more information about metal roofs, as we had been thinking about moving in that direction to replace the roof. About two weeks later, we met Ross Peterson. He spent about two hours educating us on roofs and all the different types of roofing materials available, how a large percentage of landfill waste is comprised of discarded roofing materials, and the range of expenses associated with the different kinds of roofs available to homeowners. He was polite, patient, and very knowledgeable. We went into the meeting hoping that the cost of a metal roof would somehow match up with the amount of money we felt we had available to put a new roof on our house. Overall, we determined that the work being done and the length of time we could expect the roof to last would far outweigh the expense in the long run. Especially since a metal roof can last 50 years, but you can expect to put a composition roof on several times in that time-frame. Our materials were delivered in early December and a few days later we met the work crew. They were friendly, considerate, and seemed well trained to complete the job. Unfortunately, we started having extreme weather conditions, like deep freezes one week and heavy rains the following week. Both of those situations caused the job to be delayed, both due to the safety of the crew and to keep the roof conditions as ideal as possible. We are now almost 3 months post install and are quite happy with the end result. We are pleased with our color choice and plan to paint our house this summer with a coordinating color to complement the roof. Thank you Interlock!

Review: August 31, 2009

“No Worries”, may be an “in” thing to say now days, but for us it is a reality for the next 50 years! This summer, we didn’t worry about the bottle rockets landing on our roof. This fall, we won’t worry about the shingles blowing off in the next 60 plus mile an hour wind. This winter we won’t worry about the snow. And in the spring, we won’t worry about the moss growing on on our roof. If you are thinking you want a roof like ours, no worries about the salesman pressuring into something you don’t want. They were very professional and nice. Everything they promised was delivered exactly as they promised. You will also have no worries when it comes to the installation, as they too were very professional and left the yard just as they had found it. No worries also when it comes to our carbon footprint, as our existing roof is still on our roof and not in a landfill and when the day comes to replace this roof it is recyclable. They really should rename the Interlock Roofing to No Worries Roofing. “No Worries” in Bremerton

Review: April 9, 2007

We are DELIGHTED with our new roof! The day after it was completed, we had a windstorm. It was so wonderful to wake up knowing there would be no shingles in the yard or loose shingles on the roof. And it is BEAUTIFUL! We see lots of people stopping to gaze at it. Our home truly looks like a cottage now. We cannot thank you enough for the superb product and the exceptional installers. Thanks again.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Pine Lake

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Pine Lake, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Pine Lake.

How does a metal roof handle Pine Lake's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum's smooth surface naturally sheds snow and ice better than asphalt, and the four-way interlocking panels are engineered to handle Pine Lake's approximately 194 cm of annual snow without trapping moisture. With about 58 freeze-thaw days per year here, the material's non-corrosive aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) won't split or crack like wood or concrete tile—it simply contracts and expands without degradation. The panels are warranted for wind gusts up to 128 km/h, which routinely occur during winter weather events in Kitsap County.

Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing, especially in a wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a microscopic oxide layer that actually self-heals when scratched. In Pine Lake, where you receive about 1761 mm of rain annually, this passive protection is permanent and requires no maintenance coatings. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214) provides an extra defensive layer in salt-air and wet environments, but even without it, the aluminum base itself is corrosion-proof for life.

Can my existing roof structure support a metal roof, or will I need reinforcement?

Most homes don't need structural work because metal roofing is extraordinarily light. The Slate profile installs at approximately 0.41 lb/sq ft and the Mediterranean Tile at roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means you can install Interlock panels directly over most existing asphalt roofs without reinforcement, saving thousands in structural upgrades. A typical two-story home over Pine Lake's 9.8°C mean temperature experiences normal roof loading, and the metal system distributes that load efficiently across standard framing.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in this region cause my metal roof to fail?

No. Aluminum actually performs better through freeze-thaw cycling than materials prone to moisture absorption. With approximately 58 freeze-thaw days annually in Pine Lake, wood shakes crack and split, while asphalt becomes brittle; aluminum simply flexes with temperature swings without permanent damage. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 alloy (ASTM B209) has been installed across climates ranging from coastal salt air to Antarctic research stations—far harsher than Kitsap County's conditions. The Guardian warranty covers cracking and curling, explicitly protecting against freeze-thaw stress.

Does a metal roof stay secure in Pine Lake's winter storms and wind gusts?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), and Pine Lake's typical gusts reach about 128 km/h—well within that rating. The interlocking design means each panel locks to its neighbors mechanically, so wind pressure is distributed across the entire roof assembly rather than stressing individual fasteners. Winter storms here commonly produce gusts near that threshold, and Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) confirms the system meets IBC and IRC wind-resistance codes for your region.

Does hail damage metal roofing, and can I get insurance benefits?

Interlock metal roofing carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurance companies recognize this durability and offer discounts on homeowner policies for Class 4-rated roofs. Pine Lake sits in a region where hail events occur, and because aluminum doesn't dent permanently like steel and won't crack like asphalt or tile, your roof retains its structural integrity and appearance after impact. Document the UL 2218 Class 4 rating when requesting a policy review.

How does a metal roof perform in Pine Lake's 1761 mm of annual rainfall?

Metal roofing's interlocking seams shed water more effectively than asphalt shingles, which can absorb moisture and develop rot over time. At approximately 1761 mm of rain per year, Kitsap County sees sustained wet conditions, and the mechanical interlock design ensures water flows downslope without collecting in gaps. Installed over a solid deck with underlayment, the system also eliminates the flexing that causes seam failure in asphalt. The warranty covers leakage, and the four-way interlock has been field-proven in coastal and alpine regions with twice this much rainfall.

What maintenance does an Interlock metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt shingles, wood shakes, or tile. Asphalt deteriorates after 15-20 years and needs frequent repairs; wood rots and splits, especially with Pine Lake's approximately 194 cm annual snow and 1761 mm rain; tile cracks in freeze-thaw cycles. Interlock aluminum resists all three failure modes and is rated CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. Routine gutter cleaning and occasional inspection suffice. The 30-year Alunar coating warranty means your finish won't chalk or fade, and the material itself is non-corrosive for life—no rust prevention treatments needed.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to replacing asphalt shingles multiple times?

A metal roof is the last roof you'll install. Asphalt lasts 15-20 years in wet climates like Pine Lake's, requiring multiple replacements over a homeowner's tenure; that's three to four tear-offs, disposal costs, and reinstallation cycles. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated for the original owner, transferable for 50 years) means you pay once and enjoy the same roof for 40+ years. The current regional promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, reducing the effective cost. When you factor in avoided asphalt tear-off landfill cycles and no structural reinforcement needed, metal becomes the economical choice over the roof's life.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Pine Lake, and how long does installation take?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the Kitsap County region since 1997 and is the authorized local installer for Pine Lake. The company manages the entire process, from material delivery through final inspection. Installation timeline depends on roof complexity and weather, but because Interlock panels install directly over most existing roofs without structural work, the job typically completes faster than a traditional tear-off-and-replace. Current financing—no payments or interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off—makes scheduling convenient. Contact the local team for a site assessment and firm timeline estimate.
