yes I would recommend, beside being expensive, if you can afford the cost, I would highly recommend. As above, make sure to confirm scheduling with the actual owner of the home, give some idea when to expect start on the job.. I recommend follow up with the owners on any issues regarding the installation...

They could have sent us experienced Interlock roofers not composition roofers two totally different things. First roofing experience terrible second replacement roof better but still not very experienced.

Review: April 11, 2018 Completion: March 20, 2018

Partly I was around and partly I wasn't for the project. There is one spot on the roof, where there is a leak I would like someone to come and take care of that before the inside is damaged.

Review: August 15, 2017 Completion: November 4, 2016

There was difficulty coordinating with the solar company. I provided a phone number for a person whom I thought still worked for the solar company. Interlock was unable to contact him, but didn't contact me about it. The problem wasn't noticed until the installers were ready to start, resulting in a delay before the installation could begin. Fortunately, we had sufficient good weather for the installation to be completed successfully. There was some difficulty at times communicating with Angela in the Interlock Industries office (425-438-8585). She apparently was on vacation at one point when I was trying to make contact. Her phone didn't seem to transfer calls to another person in her department, nor did it appear that anyone was checking for voice mail messages. The linkage should be tightened up so calls are always answered, if possible, and voice mails are responded to promptly.

Review: July 1, 2017

We really appreciated Ross' salesmanship. He knows his product, and we were very impressed with the product. He had a good feel for how hard to push for a decision right that second. A lot of people try to get you to sign the minute they are in the door, and he did try to see if we were willing to do that, but when we flat out told him we would never do that, he backed off. We really appreciated that because we aren't good at making a decision like that. If he had pushed more, we would have just said no. However, we still considered it, and we spent a lot of time coming to our decision. In the long run, we decided now isn't the best time, but we would still consider it in the future.

Review: October 13, 2016 Completion: September 29, 2016

My goodness where do we start! We just had our roof done three weeks ago! Vadamere was suppose to have a helper, but ended up doing it all on his own! He was very nice, professional, and had a fantastic work ethic!! He got everything done in three days! Yes these roofs do cost more, but I can't even begin to express how happy my husband and I are with the look, durabilty, and the thought of never having to do another roof again!! Winter is fast approaching, and we have no worries about any possible leaks! In fact we've even noticed our home is staying warmer than expected....did not figure that one in. Thank you again to all the wonderful people that worked for us, and made our later years so stress free!! Ken and Peggy K. Beaverton Or

Review: August 8, 2016 Completion: June 30, 2016

I'm not sure at this point. They could improve with a more accurate completion-to-start time. Also, they could use screws instead of nails. It would be a lot more professional-looking to not have cut-off nails in the underside. I really wish they used screws instead of nails. It looks really unprofessional. The gentleman called and talked to the manager and made everything flush. Before that, we had one-and-a-half-inch nails exposed under my roof.

I wish they would've been a little more flexible on pricing.

Review: January 20, 2026 Completion: August 10, 2001

Fast response and excellent work. The technician drop by within couple of days, found the cause, and provided quote. The price was reasonable for the work scope. They were able to secure the work slot as soon as the raining season was over and kept me informed on the schedule. In addition, they inspected remaining roof as well. Note: the leak was due to gutter pulling the corner flashing. The 10+ year Interlock roof tile remained good.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Bethany

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Bethany, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Bethany.

Can a metal roof rust? What about in Oregon's rainy climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the metal that rusts. Instead, aluminum develops a thin oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, protecting the underlying metal indefinitely. With Bethany's 1208 mm of annual rainfall and coastal moisture patterns in the region, this matters: steel roofs oxidize and fail, but aluminum stays sound. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides adds another 30-year coating warranty, giving you defense against salt air and wet weather year-round.

How does a metal roof handle hail in Washington County?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Bethany sits in a region where wind gusts reach 120 km/h, and hail often travels with severe storms; the four-way interlocking design keeps panels locked tight during impact. Many insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4-rated roofs. Check with your agent; the combination of impact resistance and wind strength often qualifies you for savings that offset the roof's cost faster.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more initially, but you buy it once and never replace it; asphalt needs replacement every 15–20 years. Over 50 years—the lifespan you get here—you'll replace asphalt two or three times, hauling each torn-off batch to the landfill. With Bethany's 37 freeze–thaw days per year and 1208 mm of rain, asphalt degrades faster from thermal cycling and moisture. The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner; transfer it to the next owner for 50 years total coverage. Run the math: one permanent roof beats multiple replacements.

Will a metal roof stay put in Oregon wind gusts?

The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Bethany's typical wind gusts reach 120 km/h (75 mph), so you're well within the safety margin on normal days; the interlock system locks each panel to its neighbors on all four edges, creating a unified surface that won't lift or separate under pressure. That matters during the rare severe storms that push toward the warranty limit. Installation by a trained local crew—Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served this region since 1997—ensures the panels are fastened and sealed to spec.

Do I need to reinforce my roof frame for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. The Interlock Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—and installs directly over most existing roofs without upgrade. Bethany homes built for traditional asphalt (about 2–3 lb/sq ft) easily support aluminum at a fraction of that load. This also means the roof can install over your existing shingles in most cases, eliminating the cost and mess of a tear-off and saving a trip to the landfill. A site inspection confirms your deck is sound; nearly always it is.

Will a metal roof leak in heavy rain?

Heavy rain runs off metal panels faster than it soaks into asphalt. Bethany receives about 1208 mm of rain annually, spread across frequent wet days; the smooth, sloped aluminum surface sheds water immediately, and the four-way interlocking seams are the system's leak defense—each panel locks to its neighbors, forcing water to run off rather than pool at seams. Solid deck beneath plus quality underlayment (standard on our installs) stops any water that finds a fastener hole. The result: zero leaks in normal operation, even during the heavy downpours the region sees.

Can a metal roof help with heating or cooling costs?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. These panels reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt does—initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84. Bethany receives about 3033 sunshine hours per year; during the warmer months, that reflectance reduces cooling load. On winter days with 29 cm of snow, the surface sheds snow and ice faster than asphalt because metal conducts heat differently, reducing ice-dam risk. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating means the energy benefit is measured and third-party verified, not guessed.

What warranty comes with an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—you never pay a deductible or percentage. The coating carries an additional 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. Transfer the roof to the next owner, and they get 50 years of coverage from completion date. In Bethany's climate of 37 freeze–thaw cycles yearly and 1208 mm of rain, this protection is genuine; the aluminum's oxide layer and Alunar finish handle freeze-thaw without degradation that voids coverage.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Aluminum is about 95% recyclable, and Interlock panels can be reclaimed and reprocessed at end of life—or more likely, they never reach end of life because they last indefinitely. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, go to landfill with each 15–20 year replacement cycle. Over 50 years in Bethany—with its rain, freeze-thaw stress, and UV exposure—you'll divert roughly three asphalt tear-offs from the waste stream by choosing metal once. The aluminum itself is manufactured to ASTM B209 roofing-grade spec, and the delta in environmental cost favors the one roof that never needs replacement.

How long does it take to install a metal roof?

A typical residential roof takes 2–5 days depending on size, pitch, and complexity. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. handles the whole process: inspection, removal of old shingles if needed (or installation over existing roof in most cases), deck repair, underlayment and flashing, then panel installation and sealing. Because aluminum panels are light—the Cedar Shingle profile weighs about 0.41 lb/sq ft—work moves faster than slate or tile. We schedule around Bethany's weather; with 1208 mm of annual rain, we coordinate installs in dry windows. You'll get a timeline at the free site visit.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Bethany’s climate?

Yes. Bethany averages about 29 cm of snow, 1208 mm of rain, roughly 37 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 120 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
