Interlock was a great process, their sales team was very helpful and knowledgeable, the install team had the old roofing removed and the new one installed in a few days. We chose the black "slate" panels and it looks awesome and it doesn't sound much different in the rain than our old asphalt shingles. A bit of an investment but I'm glad we went with interlock.

We were so impressed with Interlock Roofing. The entire process was great from sales, to installation to clean up. They made the process easy even when we had a few curveballs for them. They worked with us wonderfully the entire time and our roof looks amazing. The installation team was so nice and respectful. Our roof is beautiful.

Review: September 15, 2019 Completion: December 6, 2016

Interlock Roofing did a very good job of installing our roof. I was worried that it would be a little too hard to do this in the middle of winter, but they did a great job. I would recommend this company to anyone contemplating a metal roof for their home. The only negative comment I have is the clean-up could have been a bit better. I covered my gutters after the roof was installed, and found a lot of debris in the gutters as well as on the ground. The debris were mostly pieces of cut metal tiles with very sharp edges. In fact I found this debris on the ground for several months after the job was completed. I suspect that the installation crew was cold and tired and may not have taken as much time as they normally would have because of the weather. Our expectations of this medium ( metal) was fully confirmed and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Thank you Ralf C.

We live in Tigard Oregon. We were able to schedule the installation of the new roof just before the Rainy season began. We had the old shingles removed and found that our plywood was rotting and that it could not support the nails for the new metal roof. Interlock removed the rotting plywood and then we found that some of the supporting roof truss pieces were also rotting and cracking. So Interlock also replaced them. The price for the additional work was reasonable and though it all took longer to accomplish the goal, they worked hard and efficiently and it was completed before it began raining seriously. We continue to be thankful and we enjoy our new roof!

Fast response and excellent work. The technician drop by within couple of days, found the cause, and provided quote. The price was reasonable for the work scope. They were able to secure the work slot as soon as the raining season was over and kept me informed on the schedule. In addition, they inspected remaining roof as well. Note: the leak was due to gutter pulling the corner flashing. The 10+ year Interlock roof tile remained good.

Prompt, ongoing communication from bid to follow up after completion. Install crew was professional and polite. We had an involved tear-off and they spread tarps overnight in case of dew. Finished job looks great.

Interlock handled our roofing project with skill and expertise. Many other local roofers ran away from even bidding the job due to the complexity of our roof line. The result is exquisite and I'm hopeful any further service needed over the years will go just as smoothly as the install did. Positive, Quality, Value, Services: Roof installation

Review: February 3, 2016 Completion: October 30, 2015

We had already decided on a metal roof when we came across Interlock. It was one of those things where we were looking for a product with a quality standard that could match up to what we wanted. I’ll say this, Interlock works a bit differently from most of the roofing people we talked to. You’re going to talk to a sales person at your home visit, but don’t let that put you off. They’re knowledgeable and if you haven’t done your research, there will be some great information in the whole thing that’s really worth soaking up. Anyway, we were satisfied with the quality of the product in hand and decided to go ahead and go with Interlock. The install was delayed by a week due to some shipping issues, but that was really the beginning and end of the troubles. The Interlock folks let me know what was going on and when they’d have it sorted. All fine by me. It’s a lifetime roof, I’m not too upset if it takes an extra week to put it on. As I understand it, mine was a bit of a one-off problem anyway. The roofers were professional, quick, and thorough. Great people who worked quickly, cleanly, and the cleanup at the end of the day was nigh on amazing. Apparently the shipping issues on my initial order led to the final install of a very few pieces being delayed a few days, but before I knew it they were back out and finishing the job. Along they way they kept me updated on anything I needed to know. The finished product is the real question, I guess. And man, let me tell you. We’re more than happy with how it looks on the house. It’s especially crazy knowing that something that looks that good is going to last. You see standing-seam metal roofs all over and even with these you sort of wonder how “metal” the Interlock system is going to look. It looks great. Seriously, even right in the driveway it’s hard to tell it’s not either a slate or colored shingle roof. It’s really beautiful and it’s going to be there without the need for constant maintenance for a long, long time. That really makes the cost worth it. If you’re thinking about a metal roof, give Interlock a serious thought. The sticker price might make you jump a little in some areas than others, but now that it’s on the house I am happy we decided to go that way. It’s beautiful, it’s going to last a good long time, and there’s a certain confidence I get from knowing I’ll be dealing with the people who make it if there’s a problem.

Damon my sales rep was fantastic and the installers were the height of professionalism3/8/2021So after the snow and ice storm last month my metal roof still looks great and for the first time in 22 years I didn't have to worry about losing shingles in the storm. Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in King City

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in King City, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in King City.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, cedar shake, or tile without the weight and maintenance?

Yes—Interlock offers five authentic profiles (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile) in roofing-grade aluminum that replicate traditional materials exactly. The Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs over your existing roof without structural reinforcement. All profiles feature four-way interlocking seams and come with a 30-year Alunar fluorocarbon finish warranty, meaning your chosen look stays vibrant through King City's 3033 annual sunshine hours without fading or chalking.

What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing, and how long will it actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and loss of impact resistance with no time limits. If you sell your home, the warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. Because aluminum cannot rust (it has no iron; its oxide layer self-heals when scratched), and the Alunar coating is warrantied 30 years against fading, expect your roof to outlast multiple asphalt cycles through King City's 37 annual freeze-thaw days and 1208 mm of rain.

Why does Interlock use aluminum instead of steel, and does it matter in Oregon?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—steel does, which is why steel roofs corrode in wet climates. Interlock's 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects against corrosion even when scratched. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides of every panel) adds a second defense, especially valuable in King City's rainy marine climate (about 1208 mm annually). This dual-protection approach means your roof resists degradation from moisture exposure far longer than steel, which requires constant vigilance against rust stains and structural failure.

How does a metal roof handle King City's heavy rainfall and wet winters?

Interlock's four-way interlocking seams create a continuous shed path that channels water downward without pooling or leaking. With an average of 1208 mm of rain annually, water management is critical—the panel overlap and metal's smooth surface mean water runs off instantly rather than soaking into seams like asphalt. Combined with proper underlayment and flashing (installed per ICC-ES ESR-1790 specifications), an Interlock roof over a solid deck stays completely dry. King City homeowners report zero leaks even during the region's sustained wet-winter cycles.

Will a metal roof hold up if hail hits it, and can I get insurance breaks?

Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to absorb impact without cracking or denting permanently. Many homeowners and insurance carriers recognize this durability; some insurers offer discounts because metal roofs reduce hail-damage claims. While King City's weather data doesn't show frequent hail, this Class 4 rating means you're protected if severe weather arrives, and your insurer knows the roof won't fail.

Is a metal roof safe in high winds, or will it blow off?

Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification—well above the typical gusts that reach 120 km/h in King City. The four-way interlocking design locks panels together so they move as one system rather than individually. Each panel is also fastened to your deck with corrosion-resistant fasteners; the interlocks prevent lifting at seams. During King City's windy seasons, this redundant locking means your roof stays secure even in the region's occasional severe gusts, giving you peace of mind without reinforcement costs.

Do I need to strengthen my roof structure to support a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft (Shingle profile) to 0.59 lb/sq ft (Tile profile)—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This extreme lightness means the roof installs directly over your existing asphalt shingles, wood shakes, or other materials without load concerns. King City homes built for traditional roofing materials have more than enough capacity to carry aluminum; in fact, removing old roofing to install Interlock often costs more than the installation itself. You gain a premium roof without expensive structural work.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof really need?

Interlock requires almost none. Unlike asphalt shingles (which require annual inspection and develop cracks within 15–20 years), wood shakes (which split, curl, and rot in King City's 1208 mm annual rainfall and 37 freeze-thaw days), or tile (which needs resealing and individual piece replacement), Interlock's aluminum panels never degrade from moisture, UV, or temperature swings. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Simply clear debris from valleys twice yearly and inspect fasteners every few years. That's it. CALGreen verification confirms the reduced maintenance burden compared to traditional materials.

energy-efficient Interlock colors have initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and reradiates into your home. Cool Roof Rating Council ratings confirm the energy benefit. While King City's mean temperature is a moderate 11.2°C and you're not in a hot climate, the reflective advantage still reduces summertime cooling loads on air conditioning or heat pumps. Over the roof's 50+ year lifespan, this efficiency compounds, especially during the region's 3033 annual sunshine hours when the reflectance is most active.

Do reflective metal roofs really save money on cooling costs?

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock's aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end-of-life; aluminum recycling is economically viable and requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce virgin aluminum. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are torn off and landfilled every 15–25 years, creating millions of tons of waste annually. Over King City's 37 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 1208 mm rainfall, asphalt roofs degrade quickly and require replacement multiple times during an Interlock roof's lifetime. Choosing Interlock means you end the tear-off-to-landfill cycle entirely, keeping aluminum in circulation rather than filling landfills with petroleum-based shingles.
