Fast response and excellent work. The technician drop by within couple of days, found the cause, and provided quote. The price was reasonable for the work scope. They were able to secure the work slot as soon as the raining season was over and kept me informed on the schedule. In addition, they inspected remaining roof as well. Note: the leak was due to gutter pulling the corner flashing. The 10+ year Interlock roof tile remained good.

Prompt, ongoing communication from bid to follow up after completion. Install crew was professional and polite. We had an involved tear-off and they spread tarps overnight in case of dew. Finished job looks great.

Interlock handled our roofing project with skill and expertise. Many other local roofers ran away from even bidding the job due to the complexity of our roof line. The result is exquisite and I'm hopeful any further service needed over the years will go just as smoothly as the install did. Positive, Quality, Value, Services: Roof installation

Review: February 3, 2016 Completion: October 30, 2015

We had already decided on a metal roof when we came across Interlock. It was one of those things where we were looking for a product with a quality standard that could match up to what we wanted. I’ll say this, Interlock works a bit differently from most of the roofing people we talked to. You’re going to talk to a sales person at your home visit, but don’t let that put you off. They’re knowledgeable and if you haven’t done your research, there will be some great information in the whole thing that’s really worth soaking up. Anyway, we were satisfied with the quality of the product in hand and decided to go ahead and go with Interlock. The install was delayed by a week due to some shipping issues, but that was really the beginning and end of the troubles. The Interlock folks let me know what was going on and when they’d have it sorted. All fine by me. It’s a lifetime roof, I’m not too upset if it takes an extra week to put it on. As I understand it, mine was a bit of a one-off problem anyway. The roofers were professional, quick, and thorough. Great people who worked quickly, cleanly, and the cleanup at the end of the day was nigh on amazing. Apparently the shipping issues on my initial order led to the final install of a very few pieces being delayed a few days, but before I knew it they were back out and finishing the job. Along they way they kept me updated on anything I needed to know. The finished product is the real question, I guess. And man, let me tell you. We’re more than happy with how it looks on the house. It’s especially crazy knowing that something that looks that good is going to last. You see standing-seam metal roofs all over and even with these you sort of wonder how “metal” the Interlock system is going to look. It looks great. Seriously, even right in the driveway it’s hard to tell it’s not either a slate or colored shingle roof. It’s really beautiful and it’s going to be there without the need for constant maintenance for a long, long time. That really makes the cost worth it. If you’re thinking about a metal roof, give Interlock a serious thought. The sticker price might make you jump a little in some areas than others, but now that it’s on the house I am happy we decided to go that way. It’s beautiful, it’s going to last a good long time, and there’s a certain confidence I get from knowing I’ll be dealing with the people who make it if there’s a problem.

Review: April 25, 2025 Completion: April 10, 2025

Interlock was a great process, their sales team was very helpful and knowledgeable, the install team had the old roofing removed and the new one installed in a few days. We chose the black "slate" panels and it looks awesome and it doesn't sound much different in the rain than our old asphalt shingles. A bit of an investment but I'm glad we went with interlock.

We were so impressed with Interlock Roofing. The entire process was great from sales, to installation to clean up. They made the process easy even when we had a few curveballs for them. They worked with us wonderfully the entire time and our roof looks amazing. The installation team was so nice and respectful. Our roof is beautiful.

Review: September 15, 2019 Completion: December 6, 2016

Interlock Roofing did a very good job of installing our roof. I was worried that it would be a little too hard to do this in the middle of winter, but they did a great job. I would recommend this company to anyone contemplating a metal roof for their home. The only negative comment I have is the clean-up could have been a bit better. I covered my gutters after the roof was installed, and found a lot of debris in the gutters as well as on the ground. The debris were mostly pieces of cut metal tiles with very sharp edges. In fact I found this debris on the ground for several months after the job was completed. I suspect that the installation crew was cold and tired and may not have taken as much time as they normally would have because of the weather. Our expectations of this medium ( metal) was fully confirmed and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Thank you Ralf C.

Review: August 15, 2019 Completion: October 13, 2017

We live in Tigard Oregon. We were able to schedule the installation of the new roof just before the Rainy season began. We had the old shingles removed and found that our plywood was rotting and that it could not support the nails for the new metal roof. Interlock removed the rotting plywood and then we found that some of the supporting roof truss pieces were also rotting and cracking. So Interlock also replaced them. The price for the additional work was reasonable and though it all took longer to accomplish the goal, they worked hard and efficiently and it was completed before it began raining seriously. We continue to be thankful and we enjoy our new roof!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Raleigh Hills

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Raleigh Hills, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Raleigh Hills.

How does Interlock metal roofing handle Raleigh Hills' 1200+ mm of annual rainfall?

Four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed water continuously, with overlapping seams that direct moisture away from your home. The overlap design means water cannot pool or find entry points—each panel locks to its neighbors on four sides. In a region averaging 1208 mm of rain per year plus 29 cm of snow, this mechanical interlock is far more reliable than adhesive-dependent shingles. When installed over solid decking with underlayment per ICC-ES ESR-1790 specifications, you get the same leak resistance as asphalt but without the degradation that moisture causes to organic materials over decades.

Why won't my metal roof rust in Oregon's wet climate?

Interlock roofing uses 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 roofing-grade aluminum alloy—aluminum contains no iron, so it physically cannot rust. Instead, aluminum forms a thin oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath; when scratched, this layer self-heals naturally. Your Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides) adds 30-year protection against chalking and fading. With 1208 mm annual rainfall and typical wind gusts to 120 km/h, steel roofing degrades steadily, but aluminum's immunity to oxidation means your roof resists Raleigh Hills' persistent moisture without sacrificing integrity.

Can an aluminum metal roof withstand Oregon wind gusts?

Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, and Raleigh Hills' typical gusts of 120 km/h (75 mph) sit comfortably within that margin. The four-way interlocking system creates a mechanically unified roof plane where each panel locks securely to its neighbors, not just fastened to the deck. This design distributes wind load evenly across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on individual fastener points. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind standards; when installed to specification, you're protected well beyond local conditions.

What hail protection does Interlock metal roofing offer?

Interlock panels achieve UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available classification—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating means the roof resists severe hail without permanent damage. Oregon's freeze-thaw cycle (about 37 days per year in Raleigh Hills) is often paired with hail risk in spring and fall. Because aluminum won't crack, split, or lose structural integrity from impacts the way asphalt, wood, or ceramic do, your insurance company may offer premium discounts; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 designation and ESR-1790 documentation to explore savings.

Does my house need reinforcement for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—while still delivering authentic architectural presence. The Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles are even lighter at 0.41 and 0.58 lb/sq ft respectively. This extraordinary weight advantage means most existing homes can support a metal roof directly over current framing without costly engineering upgrades. In Raleigh Hills, where heavy snow (29 cm average annually) and sustained 1208 mm rainfall add moisture load, eliminating structural reinforcement costs saves thousands while giving you a roof that actually weighs less than the asphalt it replaces.

Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. Raleigh Hills receives about 3033 sunshine hours annually; those reflective properties work year-round. Cool Roof Rating Council verification confirms measurable cooling efficiency. During summer months and shoulder seasons, reduced attic heat lowers air conditioning load. The durability means this energy performance persists for 50+ years without the reflectivity fade that asphalt undergoes, so you retain efficiency gains that offset installation cost through your utility bills.

How long does an Interlock metal roof last, and what's the warranty?

Interlock's Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rust, rot, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. Upon resale, the warranty transfers once and extends 50 years from completion—meaning the next owner is protected through 2074 if you install today. This security reflects the product's 27-year track record (manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC) across climates from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctica. In Raleigh Hills' variable conditions—1208 mm rain, 37 freeze-thaw cycles yearly, and occasional hail—this transferable protection is exceptional. You're buying your last roof, and the next owner gets decades of guaranteed peace of mind.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt?

Aluminum requires almost no routine maintenance—no seasonal sealing, replacement of failed shingles, moss treatment, or gutter cleaning from debris. Asphalt shingles degrade from UV, moisture, and freeze-thaw cycles (Raleigh Hills experiences about 37 freeze-thaw days yearly), requiring inspection and repair every 3–5 years. Interlock's CALGreen-verified design specifically addresses reduced maintenance. An occasional visual inspection and clearing of gutters is all you need. The 30-year Alunar coating warranty against chalking and fading means no refinishing. Over a 50-year lifespan, eliminating labor-intensive upkeep saves thousands in contractor visits while the roof simply performs—a decisive advantage in Oregon's relentless moisture environment.

Is aluminum roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Interlock panels are approximately 95% recyclable; aluminum retains its value as scrap material indefinitely, with no degradation over recycling cycles. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, end up in landfills where they persist for decades, contaminating soil. In Raleigh Hills, with 1208 mm annual rainfall, asphalt's organic binders break down faster, accelerating roof replacement cycles and landfill accumulation. Choosing Interlock eliminates the tear-off-to-landfill cycle entirely. When your roof reaches end-of-life in 50+ years, the aluminum goes to recycling centers, not dumps. Over your roof's lifetime, this single choice prevents tons of waste while conserving the energy and resources required to manufacture new roofing materials—a tangible environmental win for every Raleigh Hills home that switches.

Can you install a metal roof over my existing asphalt shingles?

Yes, Interlock typically installs directly over existing asphalt roofing when the current structure is sound and properly fastened. This "re-roof" approach eliminates costly tear-off labor and landfill fees. Your installer performs a structural assessment per ICC-ESR-1790 standards to confirm the deck can support the lightweight aluminum panels (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft adds minimal load). In Raleigh Hills' wet climate with 1208 mm annual rainfall, removing old shingles can expose the deck to weather delays; installing over existing materials keeps moisture out during construction. The process typically takes 2–5 days depending on roof size. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and can walk you through timeline and logistics specific to your home.
