| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
yes I would recommend, beside being expensive, if you can afford the cost, I would highly recommend. As above, make sure to confirm scheduling with the actual owner of the home, give some idea when to expect start on the job.. I recommend follow up with the owners on any issues regarding the installation...
I absolutely love my new roof. Damon my sales rep was fantastic and the installers were the height of professionalism3/8/2021So after the snow and ice storm last month my metal roof still looks great and for the first time in 22 years I didn't have to worry about losing shingles in the storm. Positive Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Value
They could have sent us experienced Interlock roofers not composition roofers two totally different things. First roofing experience terrible second replacement roof better but still not very experienced.
Scheduling was delayed due to Office Problems. Took Me 4 months to receive My Roof.
Partly I was around and partly I wasn't for the project. There is one spot on the roof, where there is a leak I would like someone to come and take care of that before the inside is damaged.
There was difficulty coordinating with the solar company. I provided a phone number for a person whom I thought still worked for the solar company. Interlock was unable to contact him, but didn't contact me about it. The problem wasn't noticed until the installers were ready to start, resulting in a delay before the installation could begin. Fortunately, we had sufficient good weather for the installation to be completed successfully. There was some difficulty at times communicating with Angela in the Interlock Industries office (425-438-8585). She apparently was on vacation at one point when I was trying to make contact. Her phone didn't seem to transfer calls to another person in her department, nor did it appear that anyone was checking for voice mail messages. The linkage should be tightened up so calls are always answered, if possible, and voice mails are responded to promptly.
We really appreciated Ross' salesmanship. He knows his product, and we were very impressed with the product. He had a good feel for how hard to push for a decision right that second. A lot of people try to get you to sign the minute they are in the door, and he did try to see if we were willing to do that, but when we flat out told him we would never do that, he backed off. We really appreciated that because we aren't good at making a decision like that. If he had pushed more, we would have just said no. However, we still considered it, and we spent a lot of time coming to our decision. In the long run, we decided now isn't the best time, but we would still consider it in the future.
My goodness where do we start! We just had our roof done three weeks ago! Vadamere was suppose to have a helper, but ended up doing it all on his own! He was very nice, professional, and had a fantastic work ethic!! He got everything done in three days! Yes these roofs do cost more, but I can't even begin to express how happy my husband and I are with the look, durabilty, and the thought of never having to do another roof again!! Winter is fast approaching, and we have no worries about any possible leaks! In fact we've even noticed our home is staying warmer than expected....did not figure that one in. Thank you again to all the wonderful people that worked for us, and made our later years so stress free!! Ken and Peggy K. Beaverton Or
It was pleasant experience watching the presentation. We appreciated the salesman for coming and meeting with us.
I'm not sure at this point. They could improve with a more accurate completion-to-start time. Also, they could use screws instead of nails. It would be a lot more professional-looking to not have cut-off nails in the underside. I really wish they used screws instead of nails. It looks really unprofessional. The gentleman called and talked to the manager and made everything flush. Before that, we had one-and-a-half-inch nails exposed under my roof.
I wish they would've been a little more flexible on pricing.
Installation crew was top notch and the roof looks amazing. Follow up from project manager when they say they will contact you ensure that they do reach out.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rock Creek
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rock Creek, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rock Creek.
Why won't a metal roof rust like steel, and why does that matter in Oregon?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—only the element aluminum itself. When scratched, it grows a new oxide layer automatically, protecting itself. With Rock Creek averaging 1208 mm of rain annually and freeze-thaw cycles about 37 days per year, a steel roof would be vulnerable to corrosion damage within years. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy, coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon on both sides, stays protected through those wet winters and temperature swings. That's why the Guardian Warranty explicitly covers rusting for the original owner's lifetime.
Does metal roofing stand up to hail, and could it lower my insurance costs?
Yes—Interlock Metal Roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest available, and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. In regions where hail is a concern, insurers often recognize Class 4 as evidence of durability and may offer premium reductions. While Washington County's climate doesn't typically see severe hail, that robust rating means your roof handles the unexpected without degradation, and you should discuss the impact certification with your agent when renewing coverage.
Will a metal roof hold up in Rock Creek's winter gusts?
Interlock Metal Roofing is engineered for wind speeds up to 120 mph and is warranted to that specification when installed correctly. Rock Creek experiences typical daily-max winds around 16 km/h with gusts reaching 120 km/h, which is well within that rated envelope. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together so each one reinforces the next, distributing wind pressure evenly across the roof. That mechanical interlock, combined with proper fastening, means your roof won't lift, flutter, or peel during the Pacific Northwest's winter blow-throughs.
How does metal roofing handle the heavy rain that Rock Creek gets?
Heavy rainfall demands roofing that drains fast and seals tight. Rock Creek receives about 1208 mm of rain yearly, so water management is essential. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels overlap by design, and each profile—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, and Standing Seam—channels water downslope without pooling or allowing backdraft. The aluminum is non-porous and won't absorb moisture. When installed over a solid deck with underlayment to spec, water travels straight to gutters. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms the assembly meets IBC and IRC code standards for weather resistance, and the Guardian Warranty covers leakage that results from material defect.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Shake profile weighs about 0.58 lb/sq ft and the Tile about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than traditional concrete or clay tile. Most existing residential framing handles that weight without any upgrades. Because of that light footprint, Interlock often installs directly over your existing asphalt roof, saving the cost and landfill impact of a tear-off. Your house's structure sees less overall load, which also simplifies the installation timeline and avoids the disruption of stripping the old roof first.
Will a metal roof help keep my home cooler and reduce energy bills?
energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 in Aged Copper Penny, meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. Rock Creek averages about 3033 sunshine hours per year, so that reflectance adds up over time. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the cooling benefit. On hot days, less radiant heat enters your home, reducing air-conditioning load. The reflective coating is part of the Alunar 70% PVDF system, warranted against fading and chalking for 30 years, so the thermal performance stays consistent throughout the roof's life.
What's the actual warranty on an Interlock metal roof, and how long will it really last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That's unconditional for as long as you own the home. If you sell, the warranty transfers once to the new owner for 50 years from completion, a genuine asset at closing. Interlock has manufactured aluminum roofing since 1998 and installed panels in environments from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. With proper installation and routine gutter cleaning, the roof typically outlasts the home itself, ending the cycle of replacing asphalt every 15-20 years.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Upfront, metal costs more than asphalt; current financing options include no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, which helps bridge that gap. Over the roof's life, you replace asphalt roughly every 15-20 years, compounding labor and material costs and generating landfill waste. An Interlock metal roof, backed by a transferable lifetime warranty, is installed once and outlasts multiple asphalt cycles. With Rock Creek's 1208 mm annual rainfall and about 37 freeze-thaw days per year stressing asphalt, a durable aluminum roof reduces maintenance calls and re-roofing projects. You're paying for the last roof you buy, not rent one you'll replace repeatedly.
How long does an Interlock metal roof installation take, and do I need a tear-off?
Installation timeline varies by roof size and complexity, typically 3-7 days for a residential home. Because Interlock's aluminum panels are about 96% lighter than tile, the roof installs directly over most existing asphalt without a tear-off. Skipping the tear-off cuts labor, waste, and project duration, and you avoid the disruption of debris. A solid deck and proper underlayment beneath the panels ensure moisture management and weather sealing. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and handles the local installation—they coordinate timing, manage the site, and ensure the ICC-ES ESR-1790 code compliance and four-way interlocking panel alignment that guarantees performance.
Is aluminum roofing actually better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Yes. Interlock aluminum panels are approximately 95% recyclable at end of life—aluminum's market value means recycling is economically viable, not just aspirational. Asphalt shingles end up in landfills by the ton and cannot be recovered. With Rock Creek's 1208 mm of rain annually, asphalt degrades faster, requiring replacement every 15-20 years and generating repeated landfill cycles. An Interlock roof installed once and lasting a lifetime eliminates that waste stream entirely. CALGreen verification confirms the product's reduced-maintenance profile. By choosing metal, you break the tear-off-and-landfill cycle and leave aluminum in the material loop for decades.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Rock Creek’s climate?
Yes. Rock Creek averages about 29 cm of snow, 1208 mm of rain, roughly 37 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 120 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
