Review: July 27, 2007Completion: July 25, 2007

Thanks for a very positive roofing experience! Our new roof is so beautiful we’re thinking of charging a fee to all the gawking neighbors that stop by to admire it!!! This was fun, positive experience from start to finish. Our sales rep spent three hours at our home going over every possible detail with us. He was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our questions. As you can see by the pictures we have a pretty basic roof. There was no tear off to do; still, our three installers were 80% done on the very first day! Everything was done and cleaned up to our satisfaction by the end of day two. Our installers were friendly, courteous and hard working. I watched them for a few minutes as they all worked like a finely tuned machine installing our roof in perfect rhythm. For us, Interlock meant that the third time was the charm. We’d tried to do business with two other companies. The first took a large amount of money as a down payment and gave absolutely no customer service for two months. We got our money back and started over. The second company gave an inaccurate bid. Needless to say, we entered into this contract with some trepidation. interlock is a fabulous company and we’d recommend them to anyone in the market for a new roof!

Review: July 22, 2007Completion: March 13, 1999

We are writing this letter to show our appreciation for the wonderful job that was done on our roof. From the date your company representative met with us in our home to the date of completion, words cannot express how completely satisfied we are with your company. We definitely wanted a quality roof and were very impressed by the representation that was given to us. The product you provide was enough for us to make our decision, however it was a huge plus not to have to deal with a pushy salesman and to have such polite, friendly and hard working men providing the service. It was a pleasure to have them around our home. The quality, craftsmanship and lifetime warranty of this roof far outweighs the increased costs over other roof systems. However, other roof systems don't come with lifetime warranties and many only last for 8 to 10 years. We may have paid a little more initially, but how wonderful it is to know we will never have to re-roof our home again. And in addition to all of the above, it looks so beautiful and has added so much style to our home. I never dreamed a roof could make such a difference. Again, Thank you so much and be sure to know we will highly recommend your company to all of our family and friends.

Review: January 13, 2026Completion: June 18, 2025

I am very pleased with the entire experience with Interlock Roofing. Ross did a fantastic job of showing me all of the options available, and explaining how Interlock is different from other roofing. This was not a hard sales pitch. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable a metal roof was. I had five other estimates for a traditional composite roof, and the price difference for a forever roof was negligible considering all the benefits. Next, the installation. These guys were amazing! Only two guys doing the demo and reroof, but very hard workers and did a fantastic job. It seems rare these days to find skilled tradesmen that take pride in their work, and these guys exceeded my expectations. I also took advantage of Interlock’s financing. Drew was very helpful and accommodating. The whole process was taken care of through Interlock, making it super convenient and great communication throughout. I will highly recommend:)

Review: August 1, 2006Completion: July 18, 2006

We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks. Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job. We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.

I get compliments all the time. It was a wonderful experience. They did a wonderful job on the house. It looks fantastic.

Review: October 4, 2022Completion: October 4, 2022

Interlock Roofing is amazing. From the first day I met their salesman to the day they started work on our barn and house. They were very easy to talk to and express our concern about how important it was to keep our hay safe from rain and the ground around the barn safe for the animals. They were fast exceptionally clean and so much fun to get to know. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have a roof that will last a life time. Thank you for an amazing job and two beautiful roofs!

My wife and I want to express our complete satisfaction with the "Aged Copper" roof your firm installed on our "Barn-house" and gazebo. The two roofs have a high quality appearance and they enhance the looks of the property. We are looking forward to many years of satisfaction. We are now planning to re-paint the house with a color to better blend with the roof. The work performed by your installers was outstanding. They were friendly and very professional. They worked efficiently and energetically, and it was obvious they had the skills to do the job. Thank you for being such an excellent firm.

My husband and I would like to thank you for coming to our residence and explaining your product and all of its advantages. We were very impressed at this time and excited to start the beautification process of our home, which has been in my husband’s family for 5 generations now. It has undergone many remodels, upgrades, and changes throughout the years with a lot of help from friends and family. We will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year. The new roof is definitely a wonderful way to do so! The whole Interlock family was friendly and extremely easy to work with from the beginning of this process to the end. The job was started on time and finished when promised. We are very pleased with how smoothly the project went and very thankful that we were not the ones on top of the house!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Hunter

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Hunter, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Hunter.

Does metal roofing handle Hunter's snow load and freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum panels are engineered for heavy snow and the freeze-thaw stress that occurs about 91 days per year in this region. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle in cold, aluminum remains flexible. The four-way interlocking design sheds snow and ice safely, and optional snow guards prevent sliding. Hunter averages about 84 cm of snow annually, plus frequent temperature swings that crack and curl asphalt shingles; aluminum's oxide layer self-heals and won't split or curl, making it ideal for your climate.

Why choose aluminum metal roofing instead of steel in a rainy climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; steel does, which is why steel roofs eventually fail in wet climates like Hunter's. The material develops a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched—a process that works continuously in your 342 mm of annual rainfall. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against corrosion. You get a permanent roof, not a ticking clock.

Can my house support a metal roof, or do I need to reinforce the structure?

No reinforcement needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile—which mimics heavy ceramic or concrete tile—weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than the real thing. Your existing roof framing can support the weight without modification. This light weight also means installation is faster and safer, and you can install metal panels directly over your current roof in most cases, avoiding costly tear-offs. Hunter's moderate snow load of about 84 cm annual precipitation won't stress your frame with aluminum.

What does the warranty actually cover, and for how long?

Interlock offers a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty to the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That's one roof for life—no surprises as decades pass and Hunter's 342 mm yearly rainfall and 91 freeze-thaw cycles take their toll. The warranty is also one-time transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion, protecting your home's resale appeal. Over a 50+ year horizon, a metal roof costs less per year than replacing asphalt every 15–20 years.

Is metal roofing tough enough to withstand hail damage?

Aluminum panels meet UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating available—they withstand hailstones up to 1.5 inches without perforation. Hunter's wind gusts reach about 102 km/h, and hail risk, though moderate, is covered under the Guardian Warranty. Many insurers recognize the durability and may offer premium reductions; discuss with your agent. The hardness of aluminum alloy and the interlocking design distribute impact force across the roof, protecting both the material and your home. You won't face the shingle replacement cycles that follow hail in this region.

Will a metal roof blow off in Hunter's windstorms?

No. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Hunter's typical wind gusts are about 102 km/h—well within this margin. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, creating a unified structure that doesn't lift or separate. This engineering, combined with ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) and proper fastening, ensures your roof stays put through the winter storms and seasonal gusts common to Lewis County.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the long term, absolutely. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years in Hunter's climate—342 mm rain, 84 cm snow, and 91 freeze-thaw days per year accelerate degradation. A metal roof installed once lasts 50+ years, ending the cycle of tear-off labor, landfill costs, and repeated material purchases. Factor in the non-prorated lifetime warranty and the 10% current discount or no-interest financing until Spring 2027, and the math favors aluminum. You're buying your last roof, not another temporary fix.

How much upkeep does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood shake?

Minimal. Unlike asphalt—which cracks, curls, and sheds granules—aluminum doesn't split, rot, or require periodic replacement of failing sections. Wood shake demands regular treatment to resist rot and insects, especially in humid regions like Hunter with 342 mm annual rain. Interlock panels are CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance; occasional gutter cleaning and debris removal are your main tasks. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating keeps the finish bright for 30 years, so you'll save thousands in repairs and labor that asphalt and wood demand over decades.

Can a metal roof reduce my heating and cooling costs?

Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55, meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. In Hunter's 3357 annual sunshine hours, this reflection matters—summers are cooler, reducing air-conditioning load. The material is Cool Roof Rating Council rated, so summer cooling gains are measured and real. Winter benefits are indirect: the low-conductivity aluminum and proper underlayment retain interior warmth. Over decades, energy efficiency compounds into meaningful utility savings.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Significantly. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable; at end of life (50+ years from now), your roof returns to the aluminum supply chain. Asphalt shingles end landfills—Hunter's homeowners replace them every 15–20 years, sending tons of waste repeatedly to disposal. Over a 50-year span, one aluminum roof replaces three or four asphalt roofs, each requiring tear-off labor, hauling, and landfill space. The Alunar coating is applied to both panel sides, extending longevity further and reducing the frequency of replacement. Aluminum roofing closes the loop; asphalt perpetuates waste.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Hunter’s climate?

Yes. Hunter averages about 84 cm of snow, 342 mm of rain, roughly 91 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 102 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
