What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Fruitland
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Fruitland, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Fruitland.
How does a metal roof handle Fruitland's annual snowfall and ice buildup?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth surface and steep-pitch profiles create natural slide planes that prevent accumulation. Fruitland receives about 84 cm of snow annually across roughly 91 freeze-thaw cycles, which causes traditional asphalt shingles to degrade and wood shakes to split—aluminum's 3105-H24 alloy expands and contracts uniformly without cracking or warping. The lightweight construction (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means your framing carries far less structural burden than slate or concrete tile, and the interlocking design resists the stresses that separate panels during thaw cycles. Snow guards are available if you prefer controlled shedding to protect landscaping or vehicles below.
Will my metal roof survive Fruitland's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or deteriorating?
Yes. Fruitland experiences approximately 91 freeze-thaw days per year—a grueling cycle that destroys asphalt (which becomes brittle), wood (which splits), and concrete tile (which spalls). Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly with temperature swings because it has no internal grain structure and its oxide layer self-heals when scratched, eliminating pathways for water intrusion. The 3103-H24 and 3105-H24 alloys in Interlock panels are specifically engineered for this stress. The Guardian Warranty explicitly covers cracking, curling, and splitting for the lifetime of the original owner—protection tailored directly to climates like yours where seasonal stress is relentless.
Can aluminum roofing rust in Washington's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes to create rust in steel. What aluminum does form is a microscopically thin, transparent oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath. If that layer is scratched (by hail, installation, or debris during Fruitland's roughly 15 km/h average winds with gusts to 102 km/h), it self-heals automatically when exposed to air. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both sides adds a second line of defense warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. This dual protection is why Interlock panels have been installed successfully since 1998 in coastal salt-air environments and even Antarctic research stations—far harsher than inland Lewis County.
Is a metal roof light enough to install over my existing roof without reinforcement?
Yes. The Mediterranean Tile profile weighs approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than the concrete or clay tile it replicates—and can typically install directly over most existing asphalt or wood shake roofs without structural modification. Cedar Shingle and Shake profiles are even lighter at 0.41 and 0.58 lb/sq ft respectively. Traditional slate or clay tile would require costly framing upgrades, but aluminum's feather-light construction means your home's structure already supports it. This becomes especially valuable in Fruitland, where 342 mm of annual rainfall and 84 cm of snow add cumulative weight stress to older roofs. Fewer trips up and down your structure during installation also reduces labor costs and timeline.
Will a metal roof blow off in Fruitland's wind and storms?
No. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Fruitland's typical gusts reach about 102 km/h—well within this margin. The mechanical four-way interlock (not fasteners alone) distributes lateral load across adjacent panels, creating a unified system that flexes with the wind load rather than resisting it rigidly. This design has withstood coastal gales, mountain passes, and commercial industrial exposures. The Guardian Warranty backs this durability. Once installed over a solid deck with proper underlayment, your roof becomes one of the most wind-stable coverings available—no lifted edges, no blow-offs, no insurance red flags.
How does a metal roof perform in hail, and could it lower my insurance premiums?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is rare among roofing materials and significantly outperforms asphalt shingles (which dent and degrade) and wood shakes (which split). Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium reductions or discounts on homes with Class 4 metal roofs because claims are fewer. Fruitland's 342 mm annual rainfall and 3,357 sunshine hours place it in a moderate hail risk zone, but your aluminum roof's proven impact resistance eliminates that vulnerability entirely. Contact your insurer to confirm available discounts—the investment in metal often recoups itself through lower premiums over the first decade.
How much upkeep does a metal roof actually need compared to asphalt or wood?
Metal roofs require far less maintenance than asphalt or wood. Asphalt shingles degrade under Fruitland's 3,357 annual sunshine hours and demand regular inspections for curling, cracking, and moss growth in the wet climate—often requiring replacement by year 20. Wood shakes split during the approximately 91 freeze-thaw cycles and must be individually replaced, stained, and treated against rot and insects. Aluminum never rots, splits, or curls. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is rated CALGreen for reduced maintenance. Occasional gutter cleaning and inspections are all that's needed. The Guardian Warranty backs this simplicity—no nail pops, no granule loss, no seasonal stress repairs. One roof installed correctly, minimal intervention for decades.
Will a metal roof keep my home cooler and lower cooling costs?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat rather than absorb it, with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84. This reflectance matters less in Fruitland's cool climate (mean 10.9°C with 84 cm snow annually), where summer cooling is secondary. However, the bright metallic finishes still reduce peak attic temperatures by 20–30°F compared to asphalt on moderate sunny days, which extends the life of attic insulation and electrical wiring. In spring and fall—Fruitland's longer transitional seasons—passive solar gain can reduce heating demand on cloudless afternoons. The thermal benefit is real but modest here; the primary value is durability and the elimination of heat-driven asphalt degradation during those 3,357 sunshine hours yearly.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt over 30 or 40 years?
Yes, over a 30–50 year horizon. Asphalt shingles cost less initially but require replacement every 15–20 years in Fruitland's freeze-thaw and UV environment, plus labor, disposal fees, and disruption each time. Metal costs more upfront but installs once. The Guardian Warranty provides a lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner (non-prorated) and transfers 50 years to the next owner, eliminating replacement budgeting. When you factor in zero roof tear-offs to the landfill, no recurring labor, no insurance rate hikes, and potential modest discounts on hail/wind claims, the total cost-of-ownership favors metal by tens of thousands over four decades. Current financing offers 10% off or no payments until Spring 2027—options that accelerate the breakeven point significantly.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Fruitland, and how long have they been doing this?
Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the Lewis County region since 1997—over 25 years of local installation expertise. They understand Fruitland's specific climate demands: heavy rainfall (342 mm yearly), significant snowfall (84 cm), freeze-thaw stress (91 cycles), and wind gusts to 102 km/h. This deep regional experience means proper deck assessment, ventilation design, and installation sequencing tailored to local building practices and code. Interlock panels have been manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998, so your installer works with a proven product backed by ICC-ES ESR-1790 code compliance (reissued 2025) and The Guardian Warranty.
