| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |

| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
Thanks for a very positive roofing experience! Our new roof is so beautiful we’re thinking of charging a fee to all the gawking neighbors that stop by to admire it!!! This was fun, positive experience from start to finish. Our sales rep spent three hours at our home going over every possible detail with us. He was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our questions. As you can see by the pictures we have a pretty basic roof. There was no tear off to do; still, our three installers were 80% done on the very first day! Everything was done and cleaned up to our satisfaction by the end of day two. Our installers were friendly, courteous and hard working. I watched them for a few minutes as they all worked like a finely tuned machine installing our roof in perfect rhythm. For us, Interlock meant that the third time was the charm. We’d tried to do business with two other companies. The first took a large amount of money as a down payment and gave absolutely no customer service for two months. We got our money back and started over. The second company gave an inaccurate bid. Needless to say, we entered into this contract with some trepidation. interlock is a fabulous company and we’d recommend them to anyone in the market for a new roof!
We are writing this letter to show our appreciation for the wonderful job that was done on our roof. From the date your company representative met with us in our home to the date of completion, words cannot express how completely satisfied we are with your company. We definitely wanted a quality roof and were very impressed by the representation that was given to us. The product you provide was enough for us to make our decision, however it was a huge plus not to have to deal with a pushy salesman and to have such polite, friendly and hard working men providing the service. It was a pleasure to have them around our home. The quality, craftsmanship and lifetime warranty of this roof far outweighs the increased costs over other roof systems. However, other roof systems don't come with lifetime warranties and many only last for 8 to 10 years. We may have paid a little more initially, but how wonderful it is to know we will never have to re-roof our home again. And in addition to all of the above, it looks so beautiful and has added so much style to our home. I never dreamed a roof could make such a difference. Again, Thank you so much and be sure to know we will highly recommend your company to all of our family and friends.
I am very pleased with the entire experience with Interlock Roofing. Ross did a fantastic job of showing me all of the options available, and explaining how Interlock is different from other roofing. This was not a hard sales pitch. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable a metal roof was. I had five other estimates for a traditional composite roof, and the price difference for a forever roof was negligible considering all the benefits. Next, the installation. These guys were amazing! Only two guys doing the demo and reroof, but very hard workers and did a fantastic job. It seems rare these days to find skilled tradesmen that take pride in their work, and these guys exceeded my expectations. I also took advantage of Interlock’s financing. Drew was very helpful and accommodating. The whole process was taken care of through Interlock, making it super convenient and great communication throughout. I will highly recommend:)
We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks. Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job. We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.
I have already recommended them. Those guys were amazing. Peter, Victor, and the other installation guys were just unbelievable. It is a great company, and they did a great job with my roof. I get compliments all the time. It was a wonderful experience. They did a wonderful job on the house. It looks fantastic.
Interlock Roofing is amazing. From the first day I met their salesman to the day they started work on our barn and house. They were very easy to talk to and express our concern about how important it was to keep our hay safe from rain and the ground around the barn safe for the animals. They were fast exceptionally clean and so much fun to get to know. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have a roof that will last a life time. Thank you for an amazing job and two beautiful roofs!
My wife and I want to express our complete satisfaction with the "Aged Copper" roof your firm installed on our "Barn-house" and gazebo. The two roofs have a high quality appearance and they enhance the looks of the property. We are looking forward to many years of satisfaction. We are now planning to re-paint the house with a color to better blend with the roof. The work performed by your installers was outstanding. They were friendly and very professional. They worked efficiently and energetically, and it was obvious they had the skills to do the job. Thank you for being such an excellent firm.
My husband and I would like to thank you for coming to our residence and explaining your product and all of its advantages. We were very impressed at this time and excited to start the beautification process of our home, which has been in my husband’s family for 5 generations now. It has undergone many remodels, upgrades, and changes throughout the years with a lot of help from friends and family. We will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year. The new roof is definitely a wonderful way to do so! The whole Interlock family was friendly and extremely easy to work with from the beginning of this process to the end. The job was started on time and finished when promised. We are very pleased with how smoothly the project went and very thankful that we were not the ones on top of the house!
HELLO! I am Gerry from Olympia, Washington. A few years ago, I had my re-roofing done by INTERLOCK ROOFING SYSTEM for my house here in Olympia. I would like to thank the INTERLOCK ROOFING SYSTEM for the best, beautiful metal roof I ever had; the color choice never changed in spite of the weather condition here in Washington. So, if you want your home to deserving a thorough, keen, professional touch, quality, and professionalism, I would highly recommend INTERLOCK LIFETIME ROOFING SYSTEMS for your COMPLETE METAL ROOFING.
We both work for Nordstrom and have come to expect a certain level of customer service. Both Paul and Ross were exceptional in this regard. They were knowledgeable friendly and very thorough! I would highly recommend interlock for anyone looking into metal roof options.
The roof is absolutely beautiful and compliments our home. The work was fast and professional. Communication about scheduling. Clean up of job site. We absolutely love the roof.
We were extremely pleased with Interlock Roofing as our selection to install an aluminum roof on our house and two outbuildings. The installation team were extremely hard workers and were always courteous and conscientious and left our project very clean. We would highly recommend all of them to anyone interested in a new roof including Paul Wright and the administration staff. Ron and Joanne Quiring nothing

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rice
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rice, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rice.
How does a metal roof handle Rice's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?
Aluminum's smooth, hard surface sheds snow more effectively than asphalt, reducing ice-dam formation during Rice's approximately 120 cm annual snowfall and 87 freeze-thaw days per year. The four-way interlocking panels lock moisture out at seams, preventing the water infiltration that degrades conventional roofing during thaw cycles. Aluminum itself is inert—it expands and contracts with temperature swings but never rots, splits, or loses structural integrity. Optional snow guards can be installed for aesthetic rooflines or areas where snow sliding poses a safety concern.
Why doesn't freeze-thaw cycling damage aluminum roofing?
Freeze-thaw damage occurs because water enters a material, freezes, expands, and cracks it from within. Aluminum roofing's four-way interlocking seams and solid deck attachment prevent water penetration where it starts. Beyond that, aluminum itself—made from 3105-H24 or 3003-H24 alloy per ASTM B209—does not absorb water and has no wood fibers or cement matrix to rupture. In Lewis County's 87 annual freeze-thaw days and 300+ mm rainfall, this means your roof resists the degradation that shortens asphalt and wood shake lives.
Why is aluminum roofing immune to rust and corrosion?
Steel roofing rusts because iron oxidizes into a flaking compound that exposes fresh metal; aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. When aluminum's surface oxidizes, the oxide layer is harder than the base metal and seals against further corrosion—it even self-heals when scratched. Add Interlock's Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, and you have two layers of protection. This matters in any climate with moisture, but especially one like Rice with 300+ mm annual rain and winter gusts to 94 km/h that can damage protective coatings on lesser materials.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates heavy clay tile, installs at only 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than the actual tile it mimics. The Slate weighs 0.41 lb/sq ft. This extreme lightness means you can install over most existing roofs without adding beams or posts. Concrete and clay tiles require structural reinforcement; Interlock aluminum does not. For Rice homeowners, this cuts installation cost and timeline while preserving your home's original framing. The aluminum alloy is engineered for strength, not mass.
Will metal roofing blow off in Rice's winter winds?
Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to withstand wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Rice's typical gusts reach 94 km/h (about 58 mph), well within that safety margin. The interlocking system means each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This design was proven in coastal environments and extreme weather zones. Combined with proper deck attachment and flashing, your roof will remain secure through Lewis County's windiest days.
What's the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance?
Interlock is rated UL 2218 Class 4—the highest impact classification available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 aluminum roofing can qualify for insurance discounts in many regions because it resists damage that would total an asphalt roof. Some insurers offer rate reductions or premium credits for Class 4 metal. Check with your agent; the non-combustible aluminum and impact resistance may also qualify you for additional discounts. In hail-prone climates, the combination of durability and potential savings pays off quickly.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Aluminum roofing requires virtually no maintenance. It does not need sealing, coating touch-ups, shingle replacement, or moss treatment. Asphalt roofs require periodic sealing and inspection; wood shakes demand treatment against rot and insects; clay tile needs mortar repair. Interlock's non-porous aluminum and PVDF coating resist the 300+ mm annual rain and 3347 sunshine hours Rice receives without degradation. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance needs. Over a 50-year lifespan, you'll spend far less time and money keeping an aluminum roof in service than any traditional material.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt over time?
Metal roofs cost more initially but deliver value over decades. An asphalt roof lasts 15–20 years and goes to landfill; you'll replace it twice in one metal roof's service life. Interlock's lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty (transferable for 50 years to the next owner) covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and curling—the failures that force asphalt replacement. Add no maintenance cost, no tear-off landfill fees, energy savings from energy-efficient reflective colors, and potential insurance discounts, and the total cost of ownership favors aluminum. Current promotion: no payments or interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.
What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover and how long does it last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—the six failure modes that end other roofs' lives. There are no hidden limits or deductibles tied to age. The warranty is transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from project completion. This protects your investment through decades of Rice's 87 annual freeze-thaw cycles, 120 cm snow, and gusts to 94 km/h. No asphalt or wood roof offers this level of long-term assurance.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Rice and the surrounding area?
Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and specializes in Interlock installation throughout Lewis County and beyond. As the authorized local installer, they understand Pacific Northwest weather—heavy snow, freeze-thaw cycles, and coastal moisture patterns. They manage the entire project from inspection and removal to flashing, fastening, and final walkthrough, ensuring your roof meets ICC-ES ESR-1790 specifications and local building codes. Call for a no-obligation inspection and quote, and ask about current financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off your installation.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Rice’s climate?
Yes. Rice averages about 132 cm of snow, 302 mm of rain, roughly 87 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 94 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
