Review: April 12, 2026Completion: May 30, 2016

We had our roofed replaced by Interlock Roofing in 2016. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made! Our roof looks like slate shingles but is entirely metal. We e received many compliments on it over the years Recently we had a lot of strong wind and hailstorms and our representative, John Mondeshean, checked in with us to see if we sustained any roof damage. He came out and inspected our roof for us within a day or two. Luckily we didn’t have any damage. I’ve been impressed by this company and their product from day one. John is the consummate professional. Our roof is now 10 years old and I still say it was the best investment! Highly recommend!

Review: April 3, 2025Completion: July 31, 2024

Very heavy investment, but worth every cent! I worked with John and he was very mindful in planning everything out- especially the finer details of what was needed for the house and for the project. His crew was spectacular in their workmanship and friendliness. The only minor issue I had was the scheduling of the project- which is of nobody's fault. Things get done when they get done and those who are waiting, will be happy they waited. Not exaggerating, many customers will be quite pleased with the end result. I'm one of them. Many thanks, John, crew & Interlock!

Not only was the sales process easy, the installation guys were very respectful of my neighbors and my comfort while they were working. Now that it’s done I absolutely love the roof. It’s already made a huge difference in my electric use for cooling the house!

Review: May 8, 2024Completion: April 29, 2024

We are so proud of our new roof. It is so cool looking, it adds a great deal to the curb-appeal of our house. I also appreciate the security of knowing I'll never have to replace it or worry about it in even the strongest winds. I used to lose shingles in strong windstorms. Interlock was easy to work with. The workers were very respectful of my property and were meticulous about clean up after.

Review: November 30, 2023Completion: October 31, 2023

This project has been a roller coaster: First they were doing a good job, then not, then they assured us of the results and things looked good until we questioned something and they completely dropped the ball. They took our money and never followed up. Communication by Allen Gessell seems to be the weak link. He was horrible and ghosted us. It is a HUGE SHAME that what could have been a wonderful situation has become a fearful nightmare!

I'm really excited and pleased with the roof. I love everything about it in terms of color, style, and installation. Everything was done to our utmost satisfaction. Interlock Roofing could have improved the price. The price was expensive. It was a fantastic experience.

The entire team (from sales to installation) was very clear regarding the timeline and next steps for the entire project. The end product looks great and is a vast improvement compared to the appearance of our prior roof. Good clear communication. No issues on my end.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Roscoe Village

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Roscoe Village, Illinois. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Roscoe Village.

How does a metal roof handle Roscoe Village's annual snowfall and ice dams?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth, hard surface won't absorb meltwater or trap ice the way asphalt does. With about 73 cm of snow per year in Cook County, a properly installed metal roof naturally channels precipitation off the deck. The lightweight design—the Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft—eliminates stress on your home even when snow accumulates, and optional snow guards prevent avalanche slides onto walkways below. The aluminum oxide layer is impervious to the salt and chemicals that accelerate corrosion in cold climates.

Will my metal roof survive Roscoe Village's freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum thrives through freeze-thaw stress because it expands and contracts uniformly and has no water absorption—cracking and splitting cannot occur. Roscoe Village experiences roughly 69 freeze-thaw days per year, a condition that degrades asphalt, wood shake, and concrete tile over time. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy used in Interlock panels meets ASTM B209 standards and has been installed in Antarctic research stations and coastal salt-air environments far more severe than Cook County winters. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating, warranted 30 years against fading, protects the metal from UV damage during those long freeze-thaw transitions.

Can an aluminum roof rust in a wet climate like Cook County?

No—aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. With about 1024 mm of annual rainfall in Roscoe Village, rust-resistance is essential, and aluminum's self-healing oxide layer prevents corrosion even when the surface is scratched. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3003-H24 and 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and applies Alunar fluorocarbon coating to both sides of every panel, providing double protection against the moisture and freeze-thaw cycling typical of Illinois winters. Steel roofing requires regular maintenance to prevent rust staining and structural failure; aluminum requires none.

Does a metal roof reduce hail damage and insurance costs in Illinois?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers hail perforation up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum construction and demonstrated durability often qualify homeowners for insurance discounts; contact your provider with the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation and UL rating to discuss eligibility. With severe weather gusts reaching 95 km/h in Roscoe Village, Class 4 impact protection is a tangible asset. Unlike asphalt or wood, aluminum won't dent, split, or lose granules in a hail event, so you avoid the claim process and roof replacement cycle entirely.

Will a metal roof stay secure in Cook County's spring and winter winds?

The four-way interlocking design and a 120 mph wind warranty mean yes. Roscoe Village gusts reach 95 km/h (59 mph) regularly, well within this panel's rated capacity when installed per specification. The interlocking seams lock each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than allowing individual panels to lift. This engineered redundancy—verified in ICC-ES ESR-1790 testing—is why Interlock has shipped systems to Antarctic research bases and coastal salt-air locations where extreme weather is the norm. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, rely on adhesive that weakens in freeze-thaw cycles and UV exposure.

Can my home's frame support a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?

No reinforcement required. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates traditional clay or concrete tile, weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than the real materials it resembles. With 69 annual freeze-thaw days in Cook County, the lightweight design is especially valuable because it eliminates the thermal and mechanical stress that heavy materials create during expansion and contraction. Most homes can install Interlock panels directly over existing asphalt or wood, avoiding costly structural work. The ICE-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report confirms that this product performs safely on standard residential framing.

How does a metal roof handle heavy rain without leaking?

Water sheds off the interlocking seams by design. The four-way interlock creates a labyrinth that directs heavy rainfall (about 1024 mm annually in Roscoe Village) downward and outward, never allowing it to pool or penetrate the seams. Installation over a solid deck and underlayment—the standard method—provides a second and third line of defense. The panels themselves are aluminum, which is non-porous and won't absorb moisture. Combined with proper gutter sizing for Cook County's rain volume and seasonal meltwater, a correctly installed Interlock roof is effectively leak-proof, with the Guardian Warranty backing that promise for the lifetime of the original owner.

What's the lifespan of an Interlock metal roof, and what does the warranty cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner with a 50-year term from completion—a powerful resale tool in Roscoe Village's real-estate market. With the Alunar coating warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 testing), and aluminum that cannot degrade like asphalt or wood, most Interlock systems installed today will outlast the original structure. The company has been manufacturing since 1998, so real-world data from 25+ years of installations confirms this longevity.

Will an Interlock metal roof reduce my cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, lowering summer cooling demand. Roscoe Village receives about 3094 sunshine hours per year, so reflective coatings provide meaningful annual savings. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification verifies this performance. In winter, the light-colored aluminum still transmits solar warmth into the home, improving passive heating efficiency during the 69 freeze-thaw days. Unlike asphalt, which darkens over 5–10 years and loses reflectance, Interlock's Alunar fluorocarbon finish maintains its reflective properties across three decades, so energy savings compound over the roof's life.

Does Interlock Metal Roofing serve Roscoe Village directly?

Yes. Interlock Metal Roofing has been serving this region since 2001, bringing over two decades of experience with Cook County's specific climate challenges: heavy rainfall (1024 mm per year), significant snowfall (about 73 cm), and frequent freeze-thaw stress (69 days annually). The local team understands how to install panels to handle the 95 km/h gusts and can guide you on profile selection, color, and warranty registration. Contact the company to schedule an on-site inspection and estimate.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Roscoe Village’s climate?

Yes. Roscoe Village averages about 73 cm of snow, 1024 mm of rain, roughly 69 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 95 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
