Review: April 12, 2026Completion: May 30, 2016

We had our roofed replaced by Interlock Roofing in 2016. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made! Our roof looks like slate shingles but is entirely metal. We e received many compliments on it over the years Recently we had a lot of strong wind and hailstorms and our representative, John Mondeshean, checked in with us to see if we sustained any roof damage. He came out and inspected our roof for us within a day or two. Luckily we didn’t have any damage. I’ve been impressed by this company and their product from day one. John is the consummate professional. Our roof is now 10 years old and I still say it was the best investment! Highly recommend!

Review: April 3, 2025Completion: July 31, 2024

Very heavy investment, but worth every cent! I worked with John and he was very mindful in planning everything out- especially the finer details of what was needed for the house and for the project. His crew was spectacular in their workmanship and friendliness. The only minor issue I had was the scheduling of the project- which is of nobody's fault. Things get done when they get done and those who are waiting, will be happy they waited. Not exaggerating, many customers will be quite pleased with the end result. I'm one of them. Many thanks, John, crew & Interlock!

Not only was the sales process easy, the installation guys were very respectful of my neighbors and my comfort while they were working. Now that it’s done I absolutely love the roof. It’s already made a huge difference in my electric use for cooling the house!

Review: May 8, 2024Completion: April 29, 2024

We are so proud of our new roof. It is so cool looking, it adds a great deal to the curb-appeal of our house. I also appreciate the security of knowing I'll never have to replace it or worry about it in even the strongest winds. I used to lose shingles in strong windstorms. Interlock was easy to work with. The workers were very respectful of my property and were meticulous about clean up after.

Review: November 30, 2023Completion: October 31, 2023

This project has been a roller coaster: First they were doing a good job, then not, then they assured us of the results and things looked good until we questioned something and they completely dropped the ball. They took our money and never followed up. Communication by Allen Gessell seems to be the weak link. He was horrible and ghosted us. It is a HUGE SHAME that what could have been a wonderful situation has become a fearful nightmare!

I'm really excited and pleased with the roof. I love everything about it in terms of color, style, and installation. Everything was done to our utmost satisfaction. Interlock Roofing could have improved the price. The price was expensive. It was a fantastic experience.

The entire team (from sales to installation) was very clear regarding the timeline and next steps for the entire project. The end product looks great and is a vast improvement compared to the appearance of our prior roof. Good clear communication. No issues on my end.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Timberlane

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Timberlane, Illinois. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Timberlane.

How does a metal roof handle Timberlane's heavy snow and ice?

Aluminum's smooth surface sheds snow and ice far better than asphalt, and the four-way interlocking panels won't crack or split under the freeze-thaw stress Timberlane sees about 85 days per year. With roughly 81 cm of snow annually, the real advantage is that Interlock's metal profiles won't trap moisture or rot—the panels themselves weigh only 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, so accumulated snow doesn't overload your structure. Add snow guards if you want, but the material won't degrade from the repeated winter cycling that destroys asphalt shingles.

Will freeze-thaw cycles damage my metal roof in Boone County?

No—aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched and cannot rust, so the 85 freeze-thaw days per year won't degrade the material itself. Asphalt absorbs moisture, which expands and contracts in freezing conditions and causes splitting and curling; aluminum panels remain dimensionally stable year-round. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against fading and chalking, protecting the metal whether you're facing Timberlane's average 863 mm of annual rain or sudden temperature swings. Once installed, there's nothing in the material chemistry that frost can attack.

Can Timberlane's wind gusts damage a metal roof?

The four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and Timberlane's typical wind gusts reach about 97 km/h (60 mph)—well below that threshold. The panels lock on all sides, so wind pressure can't lift or separate them the way it can with asphalt shingles. Stronger gusts won't cause leaks or panel lift-off; the engineering is proven across installations from high-wind coastal zones to the Great Plains. You'll have one of the most wind-resistant roof systems available without worrying about seasonal storms.

Does hail damage metal roofs, and can I get an insurance break?

Interlock aluminum roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating often qualifies homeowners for reduced insurance premiums compared to asphalt, which dents and bruises easily and loses durability after hail impact. The non-combustible aluminum also meets Class A fire classification when specified, which can lower premiums further. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification; many carriers recognize the impact resistance as a measurable risk reduction.

Is a metal tile roof too heavy for my house?

Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so no structural reinforcement is needed and the roof installs directly over most existing structures. This is the opposite of concrete tile, which often requires expensive roof framing upgrades. Because the panels are aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 roofing-grade), you get the architectural look of heavyweight traditional tile with zero structural burden. Even on older Timberlane homes, you can retrofit this profile without adding support posts or internal bracing.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?

Metal roofing costs more initially but is the last roof you'll buy, while asphalt typically needs replacement every 15–20 years. The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, plus transferable for 50 years to the next owner—that's permanent value for your home. Over 40–50 years, the math favors metal: no tear-off labor, no landfill fees, no re-roofing hassles every two decades. Timberlane homeowners facing 85 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 863 mm of rain won't see asphalt reach its rated lifespan; aluminum sidesteps that problem entirely.

What does the Interlock metal roof warranty actually cover?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—essentially every way a roof fails. It's transferable once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding significant resale appeal. The Alunar coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured), so you're protected against UV degradation through decades of Timberlane's average 3,079 annual sunshine hours. That combination means you're buying genuine, measured durability, not marketing language.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need?

Aluminum requires far less than asphalt, wood, or clay tile. There's no granule loss, no algae growth, no seasonal cleaning—just occasional gutter clearing like any roof. The four-way interlocking design sheds water and debris efficiently even in Timberlane's 863 mm annual rainfall. Unlike asphalt shingles that curl and crack under freeze-thaw stress or wood shakes prone to rot and insect damage, aluminum is inert: nothing rots it, nothing grows on it, nothing corrodes it. Once installed, the coating is warranty-protected for 30 years, so you're spending money on your house, not your roof.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Timberlane?

Interlock Metal Roofing has served the region since 2001, bringing two decades of local experience to Boone County installations. The company manufactures in Delta, BC and has installed everything from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, so Timberlane's climate—about 120 cm of snow, 863 mm of rain, and 85 freeze-thaw days per year—is well within their proven operating range. Local presence means faster service, familiarity with building codes (ICC-ES ESR-1790 certified), and accountability. You're working with installers who know the region's weather patterns and your home's specific needs.

Does metal roofing help with summer cooling costs?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it the way dark asphalt does, lowering attic and cooling costs. Certain profiles, like Aged Copper Penny, achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84—Cool Roof Rating Council verified—which measurably reduces heat transmission into the house. Timberlane averages about 3,079 sunshine hours annually, making reflective roofing a genuine energy advantage over the roof's 50-year lifespan. You're not just buying durability; you're reducing the cooling load that runs your air conditioning through the warmer months.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Timberlane’s climate?

Yes. Timberlane averages about 81 cm of snow, 863 mm of rain, roughly 85 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 97 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
